Currently staying here now. Super disappointed in this hotel. We have two hotel rooms at two different hotels so I can compare the amenities between the two and this hotel is sub par. Our other hotel is the Hilton Bentley which is also overpriced and not that nice, but 100 times better than villa italia. The room has rust, it’s dirty, there is only one blanket. The toilet roll is broken, the water smells foul when you flush the toilet or use the shower. The shower is rusty. The beds are uncomfortable. They charge you for a second room key. And the kicker is they charge $60 a night for two people to use their “amenities” which are NOTHING. We paid one thousand dollars for 4 nights at this dump. Total rip-off. Would never stay again.

I stayed in the hotel just for a few nights, and what I can say is that my stay was satisfactory. In general the hotel looks ok, it definitely has its own cute vibe. But the main issue with the hotel is that it needs to be remodeled. The outside area looks kind of crappy and not “fresh”, but rooms are actually crappy, they are like on a “cheap motel level” crappy. I can not say that my room (I booked a room on HotelTonight and got the room with 2 Queen Beds) was that bad, but also it was not good enough. The room was big enough. I definitely did not like to be on the first floor, because it was a building right next to my window, so most of the sunlight was blocked. The beds in my room were okay comfortable, obviously not the best mattress and pillows quality. I totally did not like the TV which was old, small and it had awful sound. It was impossible to listen to it when any melody/music was playing. The air conditioner was also old, I felt like it did not work properly. The bathroom in my room was tiny. Also it was very very basic looking. The shower stall was kind of tiny too, I felt uncomfortable taking a shower there. By the way, water pressure there was not strong enough. The bathroom amenities were a cheap quality and smelled badly too. Wi-Fi was working good. For pluses I can point out the hotel’s location which is good. The hotel is just 2 blocks away from the beach, a super easy walk. And the area around the hotel is very nice and pretty quiet. Also I liked the hotel’s staff. Everyone was nice and friendly. The only one negative thing about the staff was they were super strict about late check-out, and gave me just 1 extra hour (I asked for 2). Also when I was checking-in to the hotel (it was around 5 p.m.) for some reason my room was not ready right away, and I had to wait in the lobby for 10 minutes. Turns out the front desk lady went to wash the floor in my room, which was kind of weird. In conclusion, I would say that I can recommend this hotel for a stay, but its price definitely should go down. I paid approx. $100 per night with no taxes, but the hotel’s quality does not merit this price. It should be more reasonable. Being knowledgeable about South Beach hotel’s rates, I would say that $50-60 per night for the Standard Queen/King room in this hotel would be more reasonable. For anything more than $100 per night, I would not stay in this hotel, because you definitely do not get an “A” or even “B” quality.

Room Tip: Do not book a Standard Room if its cost more than $100 per night. It would be a waste of money.

The hotel was clean and the staff nice. My complaint is...there is a $40.00 a day resort fee which includes internet, cable, a beach towel, and a chair on the beach that’s 4 blocks away. The second complaint is...there is no parking aside from paid street 40-50.00 a day and a private company doing valet. So my locked in/promised rate of 160 a day became 240. There was nothing on the website explaining this. It’s my fault for not digging deeper...but it should have said something when I booked.

Villa Italia was the cutest little boutique hotel in a perfect location. Close enough to all the action but far enough away to get a good nights sleep (comfy beds too). The front desk woman was amazing in giving us directions and things to do during our short stay. The place is well taken care of and we would stay again! :)

Finally able to travel and visited South Beach. Returned to Villa Italia for three nights. The hotel is situated in a great location close to all south Beach has to offer. The outside terrace is relaxing and the beach accommodations with the chairs and umbrella a nice amenity. Special shout out to Jairo who made our stay enjoyable.
