Hello. I want to report Viajero Miami, located on 1120 Collins Avenue, Miami Beach, Florida, 33149 for refusing to refund me two nights that I paid for and they, for NO REASON, refused to do business with me, so I didn’t stay there for the last two nights and had to look for another place to stay. What happened was: they offer in their rate towel for guests. I got back from the beach today, cover in sand. Wet and cold and they said they had “no” towels available. SHEILA that attended me was super rude since the beginning of the conversation, telling me in a very rude way that they didn’t have any towel and that they had to idea of when they were going to have towels. She was rude since her first word and obviously enough I stared being rude back. I told them I was going to wait for a towel at the reception and then funnily enough, a clean towel appeared out of no where in less than 5 minutes. When SHEILA was giving me the towel, I thanked her and was leaving and then she tried to lecture me which obviously I did not allow her to do that as I am not a kid and most importantly not her kid . So we ended up having a little argument. We were basically talking over each other. During this moment I NEVER threatened her, NEVER called her names, NEVER screamed, the only thing I kept on saying was: “you were rude first, you were rude first” and that was all! I went to take my shower peacefully and once I was out, I was surrounded by 5 cops! FIVE!!! They treated like a criminal, they gave me 5 minutes to pack and thrown me literally on the street, with 3 suitcases and no where to go in the busiest week of the year in Miami. I never felt so humiliated and mistreated in my whole 45 years of life. I am a kind, friendly and respectful person, all the rest of the staff knows me and were really nice to me. They can testify what I am saying, talk to the cleaner of my room (208), they will confirm my character! I want my REFUND for the two nights that I did NOT stay there because they refused to do business with me, with NO explanation so if they refused to do business for the last two nights, I want my refund for my two nights, it is just simple and that fair! I had to find a place in a Saturday when the town is packed and pay a much more higher price. I am going after my rights here in the USA. They cannot do that to people. I filled a police report and share if requested. You can and should definitely talk to any staff or any guest there right now and they will backup what I am writing here. I have many witnesses that will prove that whatever SHEILA said is not true and she lied! I don’t want to fight and honestly I just want to move on from the most frightening situation of my life so please just refund my money! I recorded the whole situation and can share if requested and will use for legal purposes. I did NOT disrespect the staff, I had this misunderstanding with ONLY SHEILA, and I did NOT threat anyone, I did NOT threat SHEILA. They refused to reimburse me by alleging that they couldn’t find another guest to fulfill these two nights but this is NOT true! I have my friend that was in the same room that can testify that right after I left, they came over, changed the bed sheets and there was a new guest in the same night. Sheila is a lier, she lied and I can prove! Can she prove what she said??? I doubt it! And to be fair, other than SHEILA, which cowardly enough, refused to give me her full name (I wonder why, if she was right…), the rest of the staff was amazing, nice, friendly and very helpful!

This place is a nice base for staying in Miami. On arrival, I was given a wristband and a keycard for my room. The room was big, and the beds had a privacy curtain, which was nice. There was a big bathroom, which had a toilet a large sink area, and a big shower. There was an app that you could download and become part of a chat group for people staying here, but it was quite complicated to get, so I did not bother. I asked the person on reception for some change for the buses, and they did not know what a quarter was. I asked for some information about a couple of places, and they were not very helpful. One of the evenings our bathroom was locked most of the night/morning so I had to go and use the toilet by Reception. A couple of times I went to the toilet by Reception and the person on Reception was asleep in their chair. I tried to get their attention, but it was no good. I struggled to sleep due to the vibration of the music downstairs, and some nights it was cold, due to the air conditioning in the room, and thin sheets. They have a water machine by reception which was handy when it had water in. If someone who works here comes to your room, and says they are going to call the police unless you leave they mean it, as one night I woke up to at least one police officer in the room, dealing with another person in the dorm.

I had the worst possible experience in the world! I stayed at El Viajero in Miami Beach and got the top bunk bed. When I was sleeping, the whole bed fell down with me on top of a couple. I injured my shin and the guy in the bottom bunk cut his foot. Despite the evidence, I was only asked to send an e-mail and nothing more was done. They didn't give a damn. They even questioned whether it really happened. Here are the photos to prove it.

This hostel has very bad overall guest service. This Hostel has many points against it, but I will be as brief as I can. I booked a Deluxe room with 2 queen beds and when after checking in at 6:30 pm we entered our room and there was only one queen bed. We returned to the reception and the receptionists began to act in a way, we were surely wrong. After checking their system they tell us that this is the room that corresponds to us and that their system doesn't say 2 queen beds. But in my Booking it clearly said "Two queens beds". They said that since we booked through Booking we should complain to them and they disassociated themselves from the problem without providing any type of solution. Since we had no other option we opted to sleep next to my friend in the same bed Then they told us that within two days we could be moved to a double queen room. In those days no one apologized to us for anything, every time we asked if they were going to change our room no one knew anything about our case. No one showed Very little interest in solving the guest's problems. The rooms had very annoying noises from the AC and the bathroom floors were completely filled with water after shower.. When they changed our room they told us that it was not their fault, but rather that it was Bookings' fault and that they were only moving us to do us a favor. Only 1 or 2 receptionists were very attentive to us.

I made reservations for a two night stay on 02/15/23 for 07/14-16/23. I confirmed the reservation again the day before arrival. When we arrived, we were told there was a problem with our room and they didn’t have another room. They walked us to a sister hotel(Essex) which was inferior to the Viajero. The Essex charged us $371 for the same 2 days compared to $567.72 for 2 days at the Viajero. The new hotel did not have a pool on site and was lacking several other amenities. I made a request to the Viajero to refund us the $196 difference in what I paid and the charge of the Essex was $371. They refused and told me the Essex price was a mistake and that it should have been the same as the Viajero. I feel this is fraud. The Viajero in the end offered a small credit to a room if I return to Miami. What good is a credit for a place that doesn’t honor reservations made 5 months in advance. Not a good company to do business with.

Staff is friendly, i specially appreciated the care of Nicolas & Meli from front desk, both are very dedicated. Hostel is little pricy but nice, well located & clean. Also, i have to mention that many dorm rooms have terrible AC, i switch room 3 times before finding a fresh one (#315 was great, with thermostat adjustable) Dimitri

I don’t know how to explain my experience in this beautiful place. All I need to say is: just go! Staff are friendly, lovely and helpful. The place is clean and has easy access. I want to write a special and BIG thank you for Nico, Lau, Juan, Tommy, Dani and Meli, they made my experience even better. They are people that I want to keep in my heart forever. The hostel has many activities for the whole week and a really interactive WhatsApp group for the guests. The pool area was clean and organized. They have a bar where you can grab some drinks for a really good price. I highly recommend this place.

My partner and I stayed for 3 nights. Our room was right above the front of the hostel where the DJ plays. The music went on quite late so we were awake until about 3am. Maybe if the windows were thicker it might help as a few times I kept checking them as they sounded like they were open as you could hear so much outside The staff were so lovely and friendly. It really is in a great location. Normally the noise wouldnt of bothered us as we would of been out partying as well. But coming from another trip we just wanted a nights rest and it just isnt that sort of place. They do supply earplugs which is a bonus lol. I would recommend it to the younger crowd who enjoy to be out at night.

I was in Miami for one night. The hotel I previously book cancelled my reservation because I got there late. I was so upset. I walked into Viajero and met Juan at the front desk. He was the most pleasant person I could have met. He was very help and accommodating with all of my requests (they were many, haha). But his demeanor never changed. The room I was assigned to was perfect! Though my stay was short, my trip could not have turned out better. Thank you Juan.
