Great little place with very good food and great service. We went there for breakfast and lunch. O had the local breakfast. The eggs Benedict and the he cheese burger. They were all great. Barman was great. Made me a nice Bloody Mary. I’d highly recommend a visit
Location is great and close to the beach, small and cosy hotel with nice staff. Rooms are nice, but a bit worn down, esepcially the bathroom. Checkin and out was easy and convenient. Nice small bar and restaurant. A bit pricey, like everything in South Beach....
We stayed in room 18, which was in the back of the hotel o floor 3. The room was very spacious with a good bit of storage. The bed was firm, but nice. We appreciated the safe and the mini-fridge. The Wi-Fi worked great the whole time we were there. Since we were on the corner, we had a balcony off of the bathroom as well as the bedroom. The bedroom balcony had the partial ocean view. Be aware that due to the building across the street, you will only ever have a partial view. The upstairs pool and lounge area was very nice. The staff in the hotel side and the restaurant were all very nice. The best parts of this hotel are the location and the rooftop pool. It was also a surprise to us that 2 beach chairs and an umbrella were provided in our room. The pool area is somewhat small, but is never overrun since there are only 18 rooms. It is great that you are only a few blocks from the Ocean Drive strip and all that it has to offer. To the south is South Pointe Park which has great atmosphere leading up to sunset. My only negatives are that the hallway was very dim like a spa, and the elevator could be very slow.…
We had a great experience at the Local House, we traveled here during Miami Music Week. First off, the hotel didn’t price gouge like most of the other hotels. The staff are very welcoming and accommodating. The front desk manager was top notch and made our stay memorable. The rooms are sound proof from loud nightly noise or Ocean Dr. The beds are very comfortable and our rooms were cleaned daily. The rooms also had a mini fridge, beach bags, beach chairs & an umbrella. It was about a 3-5 minute walk to a beautiful part of the beach. You get a discount at their popular restaurant too which was very nice. Thank you to everyone at the Local House for doing such a good job during such a busy week. We will definitely be returning!
Two-night stay to help recover from flight from the UK. We arrived VERY late, but a member of staff sleepily appeared (presumably from her home!) to let us in (at the cost of a late check-in fee). Had a family room with partial view of the Ocean. Room was clean and well specc'd, bathroom was great. Maids were friendly and helpful. It is a restaurant/bar with rooms rather than a hotel, so don't expect room service or constant concierge. But the restaurant is great, very nice for breakfast (very popular), with excellent service. And it's only two minutes from the beach. Spent an afternoon by the pool, alone but for another couple. Bliss.
I really liked this hotel. It’s location is great - a block of a nice beach access, quiet neighborhood three blocks from the non stop party that is the Art Deco district. Restaurant located downstairs is a great place for drinks, breakfast etc. What would make me love it was some improvements to the pool area. There are not enough loungers. They have a dry bar that is not staffed, so you have to go downstairs to get drinks poolside. There is couches and tables set up there that art not being utilized. It would make more sense to fill it with more lounge chairs, get rid of the bar, and extend room service to the pool. My 2 cents.
Hotel was clean and staff was wonderful and friendly. Only 2 things I wasn't crazy about. I got there early due to my flight, and although I knew my room wouldn't be ready, I didn't expect luggage to just be left sitting in the lobby area where anyone could get at it. While I left for a bit to go grab a bite to eat, I had to dig through my luggage before I left to grab my valuables. I would hope the hotel would at least consider a locked closet somewhere to store luggage for guests. I do recommend the Key Lime French toast for brunch. It was utterly amazing!
Food is amazing here for Breakfast. Amazing Coffee. Amazing Crab Cake Benedict or Seafood Scramble. Really great ambience sitting outside. Service is also excellent but can be slow. Went with 6 people and everything was great - I would strongly suggest getting anything with seafood and eggs.
Believe everything you read from other reviews about the room, the location and the staff. All great. It's expensive staying anywhere decent in South Miami, but here you are paying for a great boutique hotel with breakfast included. Other reviews may have mentioned the coffee, which is Julius Meinl. But it helps that it's served with the help of a pro coffee machine run by an expert. This was the best coffee on an entire vacation in Florida. If I was out for a walk on South Beach, I'd seriously stop just for that. The only downside to this place is that some of the breakfast items were cooked early in the morning, a common practice, but the restaurant does not seem to have a very good warmer. However the coffee and excellent home fries recipe made up for it. Noise can be an issue in this very busy part of Miami, but this is a pretty good spot for that, it just has regular city traffic, there are no booming clubs super close. The doors to the rooms are average, so if anyone else on your floor arrives back at the hotel at a late hour, talking up a storm...well..you may hear that. But that can happen pretty much anywhere I suppose. The rooftop pool may be a bit chilly for people from the warmer states, but for us, it was perfect, we had the entire roof to ourselves, with local beer that is just an elevator ride away. Pretty great, we may well be back.…
We stayed here 11 days. It is a nicely disgned hotel. Rooms are specious. Restaurant food is really good and service is super as well. We definitiely recommed going here. Beach is closed by as well. Just a great atmosphere stayinng there
