For the cost, this is not a bad way to see Miami Beach - we only paid $65-ish plus tax per night during the week, and it's really central for the South Beach Art Deco district. Good breakfast recommendation from the helpful front desk guy (Front Porch cafe, pretty much parallel on Ocean Drive). Our private double room was alright... More

This hotel is ideal for bag-packers with low quality expectations. The hotel has average services and the receptionists give you a standard treatment so do not expect too much. The hotel has no lift and rooms are available in different buildings in the same street, some are better so ask always to see more then one, otherwise they give you... More

Some people may be wondering why the reviews swing from great to grim. I've been staying at the Clay almost once a year since 1997 (usually in late January) and I believe I can offer an honest assessment. When I first stayed here, it was definitely a youth hotel with a great, energetic atmosphere. You could wander out of your... More

The Hotel looked good from outside the reception area was adequate, the staff were polite and matter of fact. We asked the room rate on arrival and were told $75 for a double room with one bed we accepted the rate paid and were given cards for room entry. The room was in need of renovation the paint covered plaster... More

I have stayed at this hotel before, but this year it was better than ever. It is very clean, the management is helpful, there is free WiFi in the lobby and common room and there is now a large supermarket across the street to buy stuff for breakfast. The rooms have a small refrigerator as well as TV, air conditioner,... More

I stayed at this hotel with some friends in early Oct. This is a budget hotel so do not expect 5-star accomodations. We were very pleased with how clean the hotel was. We had a comfortable room and the location of the hotel is excellent. I was very pleased with what I got for the price we paid. The staff... More

This hotel is located in a nice area in South Beach. But don't expect much for this price. We found the hotel en booked a room for the same night. It was small and the bed was too soft. But hey, it was cheap, clean and the shared bathroom was adjecent to our room. Good option if you are traveling... More

My 3 friends and I were looking for an inexpensive place close to the beach to hang out for a few days. One of my buddies found the Clay Hotel. I realized it was going to be a rough stay once I realized that once I checked in, I needed to walk through an outdoor restaurant and up 6 flights... More

Stayed in the hotel part so had a private room. Rooms were basic, but clean. Quite a quirky hotel and loved the bright colours. The rate we paid was great for Miami, esp. considering the location - near to the main shops and very close to the beautiful beach. Outside th hotel there were market stalls selling art, jewellery and... More

Avoid this place. The website makes it look lovely but it is in fact dirty, noisy, expensive and in serious need of an up date. To top it off the staff were rude and very unhelpful.
