The hotel is located in a great spot close to the South Beach action but away from the noise. The hotel is on the expensive side for being as dated as it is. They need an upgrade on the rooms and decor as well as a window cleaning crew. The staff, however is very friendly and helpful.
We had an amazing weekend at the beautiful Blue Moon Hotel. The incredible staff went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The pleasant manager JP was so accommodating getting bikes set for us every morning for our daily ride. He always had cold waters for us throughout the day. Tremendous gratitude to Alfredo who went above and beyond to fill ice for us each day for our cooler and make sure all of our needs were met. Don and Alex were so helpful as well and we can’t say enough about this incredible team. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The rooms are cozy and beautifully decorated. The bathroom is modern with amazing bath products. We also loved having a fridge in the room that we stocked with yummy food to bring to the beach. The location is a 10! We can’t wait to go back. Thank you JP, Alfredo, Don and Alex for all your gracious hospitality. You made our stay so special. With tremendous gratitude, Erica C. and Alex S.…
In general, I liked my stay at the hotel. I want to point out right away, that during my stay, part of it was already updated, and part of it was still being remodeled. Even though some construction was going on, it did not bother me at all. I got a room in the additional hotel building (there are 2 of them). The building where I was staying was fully updated already and looked very nice. Same thing about my room (#236). It was remodeled and looked wonderful. I felt very comfortable staying there. The only minus for me was the view from my window, because it was another building right next to me, you could clearly see what was going on across the way, which is why I always had to close the curtains. There is nothing else negative to mention about the room. It was big enough, everything looked nice and clean, decor was cute. The Queen bed was very comfortable. There was a big closet (like a separate full little room) which was awesome! The bathroom was updated too and looked great. I really liked the bathroom amenities, they were of a good quality. Wi-Fi was working good, but could be faster. My major issue with the front desk staff was that every single guy was unprofessional, kind of rude and in general did not care about anything at all. So one guy who was usually working during the day was stoned every single day. Another guy who was usually working at night did not know what he was talking about (the night before checking out, I asked him about late check out at noon and he said “Yes” and promised to put it in the system, but finally the next morning another (the 3rd) front desk person came to my room at 11 and wanted to kick me out! Finally I got only 15 min to pack my stuff and leave the room or he promised to charge my card for additional full day rate! So rude and disgusting!), plus, one night I caught him completely stoned too. Anyway, I believe that all the staff must be fired and that they totally need to hire new friendlier and nicer people to work there. One more issue with my stay was the bicycle situation. One day I wanted to rent a bike (It’s free) and ride around. When a front desk guy took me to show me bikes, I was shocked because they were all old and looked awful. Anyway, I chose the nicest-looking bike and started biking. Approximately after 15 blocks the chain on the bike completely fell apart, and I had to walk the bike back to the hotel. When I did it and told the front desk guy what happened, he did not even did not tell me “I am sorry”, he just said “Okay” and took back the lock. Absolutely rude! The hotel’s location is great! It is just 1 block away from the beach, and it is located in the fun area with a very busy night life. Wrapping up my review, I want to point out that I payed $718 (with all taxes) for 4 nights of stay and I found this deal overpriced even for a nice looking remodeled Queen room. In my personal opinion, this type of room should not cost more than $130 per night, and in general this is the issue of the hotel. It’s overpriced for being so messy with rude service. You definitely do not get nice service and nice amenities to justify almost $200 per night. Do I recommend this hotel for a stay? Yes! But be ready to deal with some messiness.…
Loved front desk. Water anytime. Beach towels and chairs free with room. Pool nice. Bar great happy hr. Free bikes. Location is the best. My first trip to south beach and will return here. Rodney bartender so entertaining and fun. Some construction but no problem. Front courtyard very nice.
We had an amazing stay and are so grateful for the experience! The hotel is in a great location on South Beach, close to the beach & bars/restaurants but not noisy at all and located across from a great coffee shop. The bed was comfy (we slept so well) and the shower was very refreshing. Valet parking was with ease and all of the staff we encountered were super kind and helpful. We enjoyed a drink at the bar as well which was tasty & the service was excellent. A seamless stay!
valet ppl they used damaged my car. Wrote an email to the property manager of hotel & he NEVER responded! Now I'm stuck with fixing these damages I didn't do!!!! The front desk worker, Joe, had to come and get me from my room because the valet driver didn't know how to start my car. My car is a stick shift. I offered to drive the car because Joe and I watched the valet driver continue to struggle with getting the car on. Joe was about to let me drive the car, but the valet driver insisted that he knew what he was doing. Eventually he got it going and took off from the hotel hauling butt, which I didn't appreciate. The following day I called for the car at 1654 and when I got it the side of the bumper corners were off more than usual. I proceeded to look at the bottom of the bumper because I knew they had probably scraped it all up. Not to my surprise that is exactly what happened. Needless to say I didnt use the valet ppl again the rest of the time I was there and guess what no other damages were occurred. Not only did the valet ppl try and lie about not damaging my car I still have yet to hear anything from the hotel manager. I think it's really messed up they can just ignore you and avoid responsibility. You spend money at this hotel and use their valet service and this is how much they care about their guest. They don't! Only person at this establishment who cares is Joe ur the front desk man. The others were rude.…
This cute hotel is in a great location and has the nicest Staff. They provide beach towels, water and valet parking. The room is not huge but a good size and comfortable. I have stayed here before and will again.
i have stayed here before but never again. pool was dirty and low on water, no cushions for sun beds. Only one bed side light, center light above bed did not work. TV remote did not work. Bar was supposed to open 3pm until 10pm, I went for a drink at 8pm Saturday night and it was closed. Room was small and not what I had booked, the fridge was so close to the bed that I could only just open the door part way and get my arm in.
The hotel is under construction. There is noise all day long. The pool is super small. The chairs around the pool are all deteriorated with broken cushions. There is no ice machine. If you want ice, you have to ask for it and you'll get a small bag with it. The door card key would stop working daily and you'll need to go to the front desk to reprogram it. This hotel is NOT worth over $300/day!!!. I don't understand positive 5 stars reviews. Keep looking
Horrible customer service. Front desk staff was condescending and gave me the creeps. I felt very uncomfortable all due to the attitude of the front desk clerk. The rate was fantastic for the location (booked through Hotwire) the hotel is under construction which didn't bother me. The room was comfortable and due to the location there was a fair amount of noise from other guests in the hallway at night which didn't bother me either. What did bother me and the reason why I don't recommend this hotel was the front desk attitude. Couldn't quite put my finger on what type of personality I was dealing with but he certainly didn't make me feel welcome or valued. I do not recommend this hotel.
