Rock is very comfortable, beautiful and the location is perfect! I stood with my family in a 8bed mixed dorm and we all loved it, even my parents that had never been in a hostel before. I’m planning to visit Miami again this year and definitely will stay in Rock Hostel again ✅

Great location for the beach and bars. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The social aspect of the hostel is great - the organised nights out are a great way to meet people as well as spending time in the communal areas. The kitchen facilities are limited but you are still able to cook and eat in the kitchen area comfortably. Breakfast is exactly what you need first thing - a bagel and toppings of your choice, a piece of fruit and a yoghurt. The bedrooms are a good size and the mattresses are comfortable. You get a locker as well and some shelves and a safe to put your belongings. The rooms were checked daily by housekeeping but could have done with a quick sweep once a day as sand builds up quickly.

Location is 5*. Right by the beach and all great things. However nothing else is really that great. Make sure you check your bank to see if you have paid prior to arrival. I had and they tried to charge me a further couple hundred dollars on 3 separate occasions. Apparently there was no record of it being prepaid? The same problem apparently happened to the person who was in front of me and also to someone else - so just be mindful. Beds - bad Kitchen - good size able to work and make food but is generally dirty Rooms - very hot and stuffy. 10 people crammed into small room (thought they would be bigger). Air con barely works in rooms. Breakfast - included so good but very basic a bagel and orange juice with coffee (still included so good) Staff - I spoke with about 6 different staff in total. Only one actually cared otherwise majority of staff do not want to be there. Miserable, rude and do not care about you in the slightest - even when asking where the bowls were in the kitchen. Would I stay here again? NO. despite a spot on location 4 nights was too much in that bed and room. If you there for a night or 2 or you only care about location and not much sleep - perfect but always check as they WILL TRY to charge you twice. Also they do not seem to care about check in times. We had a load of drunken men who arrived at 4am and had no idea which bed was free. One of them even jumped into my bed whilst I was in the bathroom. Absolutely not on! The hostel staff should monitor this. Overall 2* solely because of location. I would say price was only reasonable.

I stayed at the hostel for two nights as a cheaper option during new year Eve. Two blocks away from the south beach. The mattress was good, and room/bathroom was clean too, though the room sometimes reeked with the floor cleaner, and floor was sticky. Recommend wearing slippers. Small balcony to sit outside the room and take a feel of the miami ocean drive. Locker was big enough to put a huge trolley bag inside, and safe was also provided. Don't forget to bring your own padlock!. The kitchen had all the amemities and the shared lounge has a pool table. The free breakfast provided every morning had fruit, bagel, tea/coffee, juice, granola bar, creamy cheese/peanut butter. It was good. I didn't buy their new year party tickets as I found it expensive 100$. Tip - Take a flyer bus #150 from airport to 13th street and walk a block to reach rock hostel. Costs around 2.25 $ During New Year eve, if you don't wanna spend money and watch the celebrations, walk around the south beach. Stand near ocean drive and 9th street to get good view of amazing fireworks. (Obviously, keep a hoodie ready it becomes chilly!)
