Lovely quiet small boutique hotel not for from the beach and close to the center. Clean, pleasant, quiet and comfortable - a welcome respite from the busyness around. Very reasonable price for the quality of room - a real sense of taste and style - staff friendly and helpful

I would not recommend this hotel. First and most importantly to me, it’s dirty. Baseboards have built up dust, my floors were dirty and obviously not mopped, shower had mold in the corner. There was a smell of mold in the room and wall AC was also covered in dust. Bathroom was extremely small and not designed for a Traveller. Bed was super creaky. Outdoor patio furniture also dirty and dated. Some staff were wonderful people. Others not so much. They watch every move you make and do not allow you to enjoy any of your own beverages anywhere in the hotel (but also don’t provide hot tub/ outdoor area service). Never again. Much nicer properties in area. Don’t settle for gross and mean.

My wife and I stayed here over the weekend and we had an amazing time. The hotel is small, charming, and quaint - in a very positive way. But it's also situated near so much - a most convenient location. 17th street beach is a couple blocks away as are many restaurants, bars, and shops. The hotel has a unique vibe: historic, classy, European, and all in a very understated way. Rooms and common areas are extremely clean and well maintained. The backyard plunge pool and seating area is peaceful and relaxing. We had breakfast at the cafe twice even though lots of restaurants are close. The food is that good - simple and understated but done exceptionally well. The coffee drinks are outstanding too. When we returned from our evening out on Friday, we were greeted with a "welcome home" which was very appropriate. Cadet Hotel truly felt like home. We would definitely come back if we're in the area again.

I absolutely loved my stay at Cadet Hotel. Staff were really friendly and would greet us every evening and morning. Lobby space is small and the hotel relatively has not as many rooms as the larger hotels which I find a plus. Staff seems to really care about its guests. Hallways are well lit, rooms are average size but usable and super clean. Hotel surroundings feel very safe compared to the other areas in South Beach such as Collins Road. The outside of hotel is located on a side street away from the hustle bustle but close enough to everything still. Honestly perfect location. The area is well lit and Cadet Hotel is right on the corner across from a few other small boutique hotels providing a really nice ambiance. When staying there, it was nice and quiet at night which was a plus but still close enough to walk to restaurants and clubs if you would like. The best thing was that the hotel offered assigned parking right next to the hotel in the next door apartment ($25 a day). This made it super easy to have a car and park without having to find parking every night or fight for parking in the Municipal Parking lots. Overall, an extremely positive experience at this hotel and would definitely stay here again when I visit Miami.

Walked in to Hotel Cadet - Salon de Cafe to enjoy some quiet time while doing some work and having breakfast. The server/front desk were very nice - Charlie. I have enjoyed breakfast and few teas and was considering to stay there next time. After a couple hours, Bilba - owner of hotel & restaurant, walked up to me during a Conference Call and "demanded for my attention". I politely replied I'm in the middle of a call, and asked to chat with her later, but she demanded my attention, interrupted my call and told me I can't seat with my computer and work (& eat/drink of course) over an hour/two there. And the place was empty most of the day. After I finished my call, gathered my belongings, paid the check, I went to talk to Bilba. She informed me, she is Dr. Biaggi for me. I informed her that I not just sat there, but I had food and drinks, however she informed me that I should have paid for seating at her "empty for a reason" coffee shop. I said - no problem, why wouldn't they put a price on it, a sign with price/day or hour or just tell me at any time outside of the call and I would have paid - no problem! She told me I should have come to Front Desk and told them I want to pay for a few hours I stayed working/eating from their coffee shop for using the space. And notified me that I used to much of her AT&T wifi. That's the first thing I asked when I arrived, if they have WiFi, it's OK for me to work & have food/drinks & the front desk lady said it was OK. Either way I don't recommend staying/visiting this hotel & coffee shop, as it has no heart, and Bilba is impolite and arrogant Hotel/Restaurant manager! You don't treat that way your colleagues in hospitality Bilba. You'd better welcome paying hospitality colleagues/patrons with a warm welcome and open heart!

No issues with the hotel/room/or food at all. It was a last minute booking, but we are definitely glad the other hotel let us down. Everyone here was so friendly and helpful from the outset. I did find it odd there were no coffee making facilities in the room, but when i asked for this from the bar, it was excellently presented. That said we never did spend much time in the room, only asking for the coffee twice in 5 days. We had no leaks, no issues with the keys, and no weird smells people are talking about. Can't say anything bad about this. We didnt use the hot tub in the rear harden but the area we could see from our room. It looked clean and tidy, and plenty of places to lay. It got sun first this, until midday or so, maybe a little later.

Didn’t love South Beach but would recommend the hotel. the hotel was small but nice and the staff was very attentive. Daniel and the rest of the front desk staff were great. The chairs at the beach were an added bonus.

This hotel unfortunately is not good. It has old rundown and smelly rooms, a shower that constantly leaks, paper blinds that did not come down properly, ZERO amenities (there’s no pool. It’s a tiny hot tub), and there isn’t even coffee in the room or a coffee station (what kind of 4 star hotel has no complimentary coffee for guests?). Other things: Our room keys randomly stopped working and we had to go get new ones. We complained about the smell in our room and asked to be moved. The front desk guys knocked and insisted on barging into the room to sniff the air (two of them, in our tiny room, when we were showering) said they would get back to us, and then just never did. The staff is nice (they made us coffee at the bar when we expressed shock at the coffee situation and kindly didn’t charge us, but this shouldn’t be a favour, it should be the norm) and the location is good. Otherwise, there’s way better options for the same price point.

Very accommodating staff, trying hard, but the little things made this less than wonderful. The stopper in the bathroom sink wouldn't close, the TV was very difficult to figure out, the air conditioning remote control was missing at first, then didn't really work. Housekeeping left visibly dirty towels in the bathroom and we had to find them to get clean ones. But lots of good things - well located, help with luggage, towels provided for the beach, prompt attention when we called with a problem. There is no parking and no elevator.

Dear Boycesher, Thank you for such a detail review and I am truly pleased to read the good things about your stay such as Towels for the beach and our customer service overall. About the little things i know they were fixed right after you asked for help but it is understandable that it shouldn't had been like that in the first place. I hope we can make this better for you next stay to South Beach. You can email me directly for future reservations and i will be more than happy to help you with your bookings and make sure everything is the way it should be upon arrival. Sincerely, Ray raynel@cadethotel.com

We booked the Cadet Hotel over the phone and without ever seeing it. We were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived. The rooms are small but very clean and comfortable. Prices are quite reasonable. It is only 2 blocks from the beach and 2 blocks from a shopping and dining area with many good restaurants. By the way, it got its name because it is where West Point aviation cadets stayed during WW2. They were under the command of Capt. Clark Gable!
