DO NOT BOOK HERE!!! For starters- you’re charged a $261 “registration fee” which we were under the impression was for the amenities. However- we went to the beach and were told we cannot have beach chairs without paying for them. We spent some time at the pool as well and paid for $18 pina coladas on top of the $261 fee for “amenities and cleaning”. The rooms were NOT clean. Blood on sheets, the electronics did not work. In attempt to bring some drinks to the PUBLIC BEACH we were YELLED AT by the staff members. The manager I would assume then yelled at his staff for “letting us pass by with our drinks” and they went on the walkie talkies to inform all staff about us. Truly if you pay $261 for amenities, you should not be chastised for bringing a couple drinks to the PUBLIC BEACH. Nonetheless- we tried to make the most of our time but we will NEVER come back and I hope this review prevents others from making the same mistake. …

Apparently when booking through booking.com this is a hidden fee so book directly w them if you chose to vacation in filth! I would NOT recommend staying here as there are thousands of other hotels to chose from...all in the same location w an amazing beach (oh yeah they say it's a private beach...not really)...we bought overpriced alcohol in THEIR store and it was cans not glass and they still wouldn't allow the drinks at the pool. We had to pay for THEIR $20 drinks instead at the pool. Ordered coconut shrimp and there was No coconut flavor and tasted like frozen Gordon's shrimp! Not fresh at all...and grossly overpriced. Only one roll of toliet paper in each restroom and we were told by the front desk that we were not guests of theirs that we were guests of the owner therefore don't bother them (and no contact info for the owner too so we were left to fend on our own). Broken tub handle and corroded sprinkler system heads. The owner to Unit 1006 should be ashamed of himself to even attempt to rent this unit out...at least he can steam clean the disgusting couch as we couldn't even sit on it. See pictures attached...…
We booked a Cabana at this hotel through resort day pass for Sunday 5th March as an add on after our cruise before we had to fly back to Heathrow later that day. The receptionist at the hotel was so very unwelcoming never gave us directions to the cabana just said go to level M. I had to ask a member of staff behind the bar where we could locate cabana 210 and luckily he carried our cases for us up and down the steps which we were thankful for and tipped him. We were 5 people with suitcases and had booked a cabana for 5 people, the cabana we had booked was supposed to be for 6. What a massive disappointment this was and we personally feel it is being wrongly advertised and will also be taking it up with the company we booked it with. The cabana was not ready for us the furniture was just dumped outside which consisted of a double chair and one lounger outside and there is no seating inside for 5 just one chair and 2 fold up chairs so we could not all sit inside in the cool which was the idea before we had to travel back to the UK Our decking after an hour was taken over by a group of girls constantly taking pictures of their backsides. It wasn’t private like advertised. We took a lounger from next door and were told to put it back by bar staff. Bar staff took off with a card to open a tab for drinks and were reluctant to give us the Wi-Fi code. I will say the cabana was fitted with a lovely bathroom and shower but in no way is this a cabana for 6 people and we have been massively overcharged. It does have charging sockets a fridge that was complete with water, air con and also a microwave for use so this was good but as previously stated it in no way accommodates 5 people let alone 6 !! The food at the tiki bar was of good quality and very nice. On leaving just after 2pm we asked the staff behind the reception if they could order us a taxi to the airport the response was no!! I couldn’t believe it. The staff here are completely unhelpful and rude apart from a couple of exceptions. Such a shame really as the location is really beautiful and the pools are well maintained and it’s right on the beach which is gorgeous. My friend who booked this will be directly complaining to the company we booked with. These cabanas would be ok with 2 people but no more and unfortunately other people use your balcony decking area which is unfair it is certainly not private Will not ever stay here or recommend these cabanas…
The beach and pool at the Alexander were beautiful, but everything else made for an unpleasant stay. I would never stay at this hotel again. When we first arrived at the hotel, the valet told us that it is the hotel policy that guests are required to use the valet service (I knew this wasn't true because the hotel had told me over the phone that there was a public lot down the street that we could use). Inside, the staff confirmed that what the valet said was not true. When we asked for towels one morning (after several days of using the same ones) we were told there were no towels and would be no towels until the next day (they had no clean pool or bathing towels). When I expressed surprise about the lack of towels (just surprise, but no yelling or anything on my part), I was yelled at by a very grumpy front desk employee. He told me he could not make towels magically appear or pull them out of the sky and yelled at me for wanting towels when there were no towels. This same employee was very grumpy when we first checked into the hotel and made for a surprisingly unpleasant welcome to the hotel when we first arrived. I was taken aback to be talked to as if I had done something wrong, when I had not done anything wrong and talked very nicely to him. Inside our room, the bathtub plug was broken. There was a sharp piece poking out where the plug for the bathtub was supposed to be. We were unable to use the bathtub to bathe our young children. When we asked if it could be fixed, we were told, “If we have the part we will fix it, and if not then we won’t.” Again, with the grumpiness. The phone was broken in the room and could not be used to make calls. A piece fell off underneath the bed when my (thin) husband sat on it. We had a coffeemaker in our room and only a few coffee pods to use with it. We asked for more after a few days and were told they only had decaf left. Again with the obnoxious attitude when answering our question. The hotel did not clean the rooms during our stay. My son got a stomach bug and threw up multiple times in the toilet in one of the bathrooms in our room. It didn’t make a mess in the bathroom, but I wanted to clean the toilet. We asked the hotel if they could clean the room and they said they only clean after guests leave. I asked if I could have a little cleaning product to disinfect the toilet and was told to go buy some. We had quite a long stay at the hotel and had no way to sweep or make the room clean at all. The kitchenette was not really stocked with anything (almost every cabinet was empty). Most of all, it was the rude attitude of the front desk employees that made us not want to stay there again. But it was also all of the broken stuff and the lack of towels (how annoying to return from the beach with sand in your hair to find out there are no towels!). I would suggest looking elsewhere for your stay in Miami Beach. Giving 2 stars instead of 1 because the beach and pool were nice.…
Don’t know where to start. Enter to a nice dining table, but the table runner had a nasty stain that mean they didn’t wash it. The living room couch was filthy. Rush to the bathroom to use it to my surprise there is rust on the bottom of the toilet. Entered the Bedroom with the king size bed as I pulled the top sheet to lay down the mattress and box board have a big brown stain not sure if it’s bedbugs or just haven’t been clean in awhile. The second bedroom shower knob fell off mid showering and the water nearly burnt someone that was in the shower. She had to literally run out. Used the toilet not flushing water continued to run all night until after 4am. Bought food to make in the oven, went into the kitchen to my surprise the oven has fungus between the door glass and at the bottom. Inside was not cleaned at all. Contacted front desk to get a room change and I was told management lefted for the day will return in the morning between 7-8am by the evening and over night attendant. Waited this morning until 845am thinking management was going to reach out. NOPE!!! Went to front desk at 850am requesting management advise they don’t work on weekends. WHAT!!! So why was I told by several people, he told me they lied. At this point I’m furious to the max. I reply now what is going to happen, he doesn’t know nothing his reply. Just contact whoever I book with let them know what happen. I asked if he can email management to contact me was return on Monday. His reply was no they don’t work on weekends. I’m so glad I recorded everything, took pictures and even have text with the front desk worker about my concern early.…
I would absolutely never come to stay at this hotel specifically because the valet service is so rude and nasty! I mean these are the FIRST people you see when you get to the hotel! Completely ruined my experience! I had the nastiest encounter with in specifically one of the valet guys! Apart from the fact that the first two men that came to my car completely spoke no English.. when the third guy came up to my car I tried to communicate with him in Spanish the best way I could.. before I could even complete my sentence he cut me off and said, “NO! I speak English! Don’t disrespect me!” I was shocked! The professional thing to do would be to simply enlighten me on the fact that I can communicate with you normally because you are in fact BILINGUAL! I don’t know if he thought I was trying to be funny… I really wasn’t! I was trying to help myself!! I came to the hotel to take care of a business opportunity I had and was already running late. I just needed to know how much to park my car and why they couldn’t just put it on the room?? At that point this man told me that he would not deal with me and walked away………………. I was shocked. I proceeded to get on the phone with my client and explain to her my situation. After all apparently this hotel has nothing to do with their own valet service. It is a third party. One of the gentlemen that didn’t speak English then proceeded to bring me a bell hop which valet is oddly also in charge of?! And I finally got to load my belongings on the bell hop. At that point I was sooooo angry. But I still had business to take care of. Now things got worse when I was ready to leave! We called to valet for a bellhop and it never came up! I ended up having my client just help me bring my belongings down stairs by hand because I already knew what type of people I was dealing with! As we approached the same valet man.. he began to add fees and lie to us about the price of the valet. This Valet guy also told me to “get a life” after scolding him for his behavior!! We end up finding out that this guy is THE SUPERVISOR/ MANAGER of the valet service provided!! Disgusting customer service! Absolutely NO customer service skills what so ever! HIS NAME IS DANIELLE!!!! Danielle created the worst experience for me at this hotel before even walking in and I wish to never come back or see his face again! GET RID OF HIM SO WE CAN HAVE A BETTER EXPERIENCE! Period. I would give no stars if I could.…
Just so no one else experiences this, want to share that HORA Rentals owner of multiple units grossly overcharged for a unit rife with issues. His charges were not legitimately explained but rather lumped together for fees, cleaning, rent, etc. Seemed more concerned about renovating other units he owns than anything else and offered "solutions" that were not accommodating to those who were traveling. He also was accusatory about us not having knowledge of overall building issues including an emergency evacuation among other issues. Took no accountability and in general was shady in his overall approach. Don't rent from him.
Pros: The location and beach access is terrific. It’s lovely to have beach service for lunch and cocktails, and the ability to rent chairs and umbrellas. Beach and pool staff are, for the most part, accommodating and friendly. Unlike some of the reviews we found there were plenty of clean beach towels. The apartments are spacious with nice views, and reasonable, compared to other two bedroom apartments available right on the beach. Cons: Similar to most reviewers, we found the facilities to be worn, dated and dirty, with many broken amenities. The main bathroom at the pool and the family bathroom were both out of order and closed. The gym, adjacent bathroom, and hot tub were dank and filthy. The male desk clerk is downright surly. For what is now a 2.5 star hotel, the convenience store and food and bar prices are exorbitant. A day on the beach with a just a salad and two cocktails each will cost a couple more than $200. plus tip. A bottle of patron is $80. Pricing is similar to our recent stay at the Ritz Carlton without the cleanliness or glamour. If you rent an apartment that sleeps eight, you must pay for six chairs as each condo only gets two and you also have to pay for umbrellas. The dishwasher in our unit was broken as was the jet tub in the main bathroom. The balcony above us was cracked, and rainwater was dripping on the chairs, making the balcony barely usable. Overall impression: This was clearly once a beautiful hotel, but management needs to pay more attention than a “Thank you for your feedback, we have informed the right people” response. Update and repair broken and worn amenities and replace surly staff members. From management’s response to similar reviews, it seems there’s no intention to compensate guests for a poor experience or to apply proper maintenance to this once beautiful facility. The overall impression is indoor hotel staff wishes guests would have found a different place to stay. Although we had a decent time we will not be returning. …
Magnificent views with a private beach access. The pool and hot tub were great. The lobby and common areas were lovely, but our suite was very dated. There was nowhere to hang towels in the bathroom to dry and there was only one rickety lamp in the bedroom that was probably a fire hazard. The furniture and countertops were stained and the surfaces had a film of cleaning product residue everywhere. There was also hair everywhere in the bathroom. I felt like I was bothering the guy at the counter when I checked in. Any questions I had about the hotel or neighborhood he treated me like I’m an idiot and rolled his eyes every time I translated information to my friends. I asked for options other than the $40/ night valet and he told me that the closest public parking was full of crackheads. We’re European and are used to walking everywhere, but you have to go at least 10 blocks to find anything. …
Mostly we had a nice stay with our family but the management was not very responsive. 1) The air conditioning wasn’t working in one of the bedrooms. I reached out numerous times for help but received no follow up. 2) I asked for fresh towels but never got a response. Later that evening I was told that there was no one on site that could help me. I went to check by the pool which is supposed to be open until 10:00pm but the office with the towels was closed.
