The Room was not clean. Kitchen was not well equipped. Was barely able to cook Christmas dinner due to lack of basic utensils. Burned my hand trying to take food out of the stove due to lack of oven mitt (really...a $3 item). Total disregard for masking mandate. Unfortunately broke a class and needed a broom to clean up. Went down to the front desk for help....Sorry house cleaning is closed. Really...no help! Then he told me to go F myself...could not have been less helpful.
We rented a 3 bedroom from Airbnb. One room features 2 twin beds, 2 queen beds and 1 full. The full bed was broken and was squeaking all night. The room was filthy. Blood stains on the linens and the walls. You would think during covid they would deep clean it. Construction everywhere. We were sitting in the balcony and dirty water was dumped on us from the upstairs balcony. The construction is so loud you can’t enjoy the pool. An absolute disaster and a dump.
The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The pool is good and clean, but not so big. The price was really good too, due to construction situation undergoing in front of the hotel, I guess. No breakfast included in the price range that I chose. Make sure you read the rules in the hotel website, as this an unusual setup. You should be aware that if you need towels beyond the ones that are in the room, you will need to wash. There are wash and dryer machines at each floor. Dishwasher was not working and we had to buy dish soap. You may need to buy trash bags and bring dishwasher tablets. There was a big cockroach in the bathroom on the third day. Beds sheets and pillows seemed to be clean, but I looked down on the frames and saw lots of hair and dirt. Important: if you're driving you'll have to pay valet parking that is expensive. No self parking available. Parking cost me more than the actual car rental on the weekend. FEES: There's a $25 DAILY FEE called "Resort fee" included that gives you nothing but towels for the pool that you may use at the beach too. At the beach you have only two beach chairs available per apt, and It's $15 a day for the sun umbrella. So why $25 for resort fee? Drinks at the bar are expensive. I'm still giving 3 stars because we had a good time and the location helped. The staff was also nice and helpful. Hope that after the reforms there will be improvements with the issues because it's such a great location and doesn't look like the management is on top of the hospitality points as they're supposed to.…
I did a staycation with my family at the Alexander Hotel. What an amazing surprise. The hotel is renovated and fresh, the staff is very nice and the apartments are large (2 beds, 2 bath) for the same price of a tiny room a couple of blocks down the street. They have a private beach and a great tikki bar. We loved it!
Enjoyed the beachfront and the friendly employees who work there. Our apt was spotless. Renovations are moving along but they did not affect our stay. Only one pool is open so hopefully at our next visit it will be completed. Our children and grandchildren had a wonderful vacation.
