Stayed here for 4 nights in May 2023. Pros - Great location in Miami Beach - Lots of bars, shops, and restaurants within walking distance - Private beach access - Lovely pool area - Excellent breakfast at Chloe’s restaurant on the front patio, - The Backyard Bar is very cool, and the happy hour $1 drinks are a bargain. - Decent size room Cons - Room decor is a bit tired, and could do with a refurb - The AC was the loudest I have ever heard in any hotel I have ever stayed in. Ideal for a city break. It’s a 3-star hotel, but Chloe’s and Backyard bump it up to 4.

What a wonderful art deco hotel in the middle of South Beach! Clean, friendly, unpretentious and memorable. Food at the cafe in front and pool side bar is great. Most important, the staff is wonderful. From Luis the bellman to Pedro the Concierge to Mari at the front desk, they make you feel welcome and important! We'll be back!!

Good decent hotel. Clean, comfortable rooms and lovely pool area which is then straight onto the beach. Staff were super helpful, reception staff partucularly were outstanding. My ongoing transport was difficult to confirm and the kind guy called via his personal phone. Had a great 2 night stay. Would use again.

For the price, not worth it. I'll agree with other reviewers. The room was ok, at best. Decent sized room, ok bed, lumpy pillows, tiny bathroom. The toilet had a constant flush, so you had to wiggle to stop. Not a big deal - a nuisance. The sink in the bathroom drained slower than molasses. Also, not a big deal - a nuisance. The hot water in the shower had to be turned on 5 minutes before getting in so that it was warm enough. No bottled waters in the room, but available for purchase. Although there is free water with disposable cups once staff puts it out. The beach pass is a great idea but how about having beach chairs with pads? Or update the beach chairs. And, when on vacation, most people are at the beach before 10am. Other hotels had their chairs and umbrellas set up well before this hotel/company even thought about it. And, how about coffee in the lobby for those traveling early? Not until 730 when I can finally buy a cup for $4?! Offering "Americano" coffee for FREE, as it costs next to nothing AND is easy to make, would have been amazing. From reviews, I knew there was construction next door. However, when taking pictures from your room there is either construction equipment in the view or what looks like a war zone with a building in ruins. Not the hotel's fault but something for you to consider. The one pro: The free happy hour; however, we never utilized it so I can't attest to that. Although, it is a nice perk. Overall, very underwhelmed.

We appreciate the time that our guests take to share their feedback with us! Thank you for sharing your review with us and our future guests! I see that there were several inconveniences that you experienced during your stay. We wish that you would have brought these inconveniences to our attention while you were in house. We want our guests to thoroughly enjoy their stay and if we can better our guests experience. The beach concession is a company that we rent from, it's not ours. We will share your comments regarding the beach chairs with the company. On a positive note, we are thrilled that you enjoyed the fun filled happy hour. There is nothing better then $1 for a full hour! We hope that you would give us a second chance in the future, as we would love to make it up to you! Please let me know when you will be coming back to Miami, and I would love to personally handle your reservation. Katrine B

In the first room rain drop inside. Hotel staff prompty put towels but it was not enough so we asked to change room. New room was ok. Hotel parking was comfortable, location was great to go to shopping and dining areas. Breakfast good and very appreciated after hours drink for all guests. Terrible and noisy civil works next to the hotel.

This is my second time in the hotel, this turn to celebrate my 23rd anniversary. And it was even better than the first visit. Our room was super spacious, clean and with a super large bed. Great shower From 6 to 7pm a free drink is served on the restaurant (one dollar tip) The ocean view was a must. Thanks to Sus for such a nice experience!

The positive: the backyard area is nice. They’ve done a very nice job with the pool and area behind the pool. Karen, Axel and the other servers are such friendly and hard workers. They made our stay pleasant. The beach area is nice and it’s great to have beach chairs and beach service with food and drinks. Ok the negative: there is no ramp coming into the hotel. There is also nobody to help carry your luggage up the steps. You have to do everything yourself. The pool area closes at 8 pm as well as the lobby bar. There is basically nothing to do at the hotel after 8 pm or 10 pm on weekends. Now the worst part: the halls look like they haven’t been updated in 30 years. Dim lights, old outdated carpet, bad paint jobs, and super thin walls. Every time we stepped off the elevator it smelled like strong weed and loud music blaring in some of the rooms. I think we had the best room at the place with an ocean view but the room is average at best. Lumpy pillows, bad paint on the walls, bed that felt like it might fall apart, old towels, not very cold AC. No waters in the room, no stocked mini bar, no room service. It’s about as basic as it comes. Reminded me of a motel/hotel. This place could be super nice if the inside of the hotel rooms and hallways matched the area behind the hotel. They need to do some upgrading and renovations. AND not allow pot vapes bc the whole place smelled like a weed bar and I’m sure some of the staff knew it was there and did nothing to make people not smoke or vape bc it smelled like it all week inside elevators and halls. This place could be nice but it needs a better renovation and better customer service in lobby area.

Good Afternoon, We would like to thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us regarding your recent stay here at Marseilles! We are glad that you were able to enjoy the Backyard area, the pool, the amenities here and the service provided to you by Karen, Axel and the rest of the team! On another note, we apologize that there were several inconveniences that you experienced while staying with us! Unfortunately, there is no ramp coming from outside the hotel to the inside. We do have bellmen that are here to assist with guests and lifting and carrying their luggage, as well as with other guests needs. If they were not there are that moment, they were most likely assisting other guests. Here at Marseilles we do not provide water or a stocked mini bar. We provide the mini fridge for our guests to use to store any items that they buy that they want to keep refrigerated. We take all of our guests feedback serious and it's also a way for us to see what areas need more attention based on what the guests feedback is. Once again, thank you for sharing your feedback with us regarding the recent experience that you had with us! Katrine B

Great location, on the beach and the nightlife is alive here. That is a good and a really bad thing, as I’ll explain later. The beach itself is quite overrated, at least at this time of the year : if you want a nice beach, go to Delray beach or something, nicer sand and water and less algae. The problems with this hotel come from the room itself : the “city view” room has no windows. I mean, it does have windows, but it sounds like there are none. At night, you can hear the lyrics of the music playing across the street (and the bass will shake you), you can hear conversations, you will hear every car and truck. In the morning, you are cold and wake up by the birds. Also, the flooring is cracked and detached all around, there are some missing curtains, the paint job isn’t really well done, etc.. It feels like this was maybe a nicer place 20 years ago, but hasn’t received the love it needed to evolve with the times. My recommendation would be : if you want to stay beachfront at Miami Beach, plan to be out at the bars until they close and don’t really care about the quality of your room, maybe this could be enough for you. But if you care about the details and the experience that you get from beginning to end, including your night(s) of sleep, you will have to spend the big bucks and stay at a big hotel. I know that’s what I should’ve done.

We take every one of our guests feedback serious, so thank you for sharing yours with us! We are glad that you enjoyed the prime location that our property is in. The beach can vary at whatever time of the year depending certain factors. We can get algae during anytime of the year, and this also goes for any beach. If we would have been made aware of these inconveniences while you were in house, we would have worked on moving you to another room towards the back of the hotel away from the street noise. We are always working to better our guests experience and with our guests constructive feedback we are able to see what areas need more attention. Thank you for sharing your feedback with us! We were on the 8th floor without a working toilet for 5 days straight. The first day we realized that the toilet was not flushing properly so we put in a maintenance request. Instead of fixing the toilet completely, they simply plunged it. The toilet continued to not flush properly so we put in a maintenance request multiple times after. The problem was never fixed. We had to go to the lobby every time we needed to use the restroom. It was an extreme inconvenience and we were not refunded properly. There was no urgency in the problem and staff had no intention to fix this problem for the next guest

Hello Carmen and thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us and our future guests! We want to apologize for the less than enjoyable experience that you had with us here at Marseilles Hotel. We work hard to provide an outstanding experience to each and every guest. We also work hard to addressing any issues that arise and brought to our attention. I do apologize that you experienced issues with your toilet. I was able to speak with the maintenance department regarding your issue. The issue was not able to be completely resolved until the room was vacant. Since we also had a full house we had no other room to move you to so that we could address the situation with the toilet completely. I see on your reservation that you were refunded 2 nights of resort fees for the inconvenience. As soon as you checked out our maintenance department was in your room fixing the issue. Thankfully the issue was resolved and the toilet is working 100% again! Katrine B
