I booked my trip to Nautilus for the weekend of March 18-22 for the WBC tournament and to enjoy some time on the beach and pool. I decided to book Nautilus as I have been there before and I had an excellent experience. This trip however, was the totally opposite experience. First thing, I get to the hotel and the bellboy doesn't even open the door for me and my girlfriend. Not even an hello LOL. I found that extremely rude and a terrible first impression. I booked my room through booking.com and booked the King Balcony Oceanfront room. When I get to the hotel, the front desk clerk tells me there was an error and that my Oceanfront balcony room was not available and they could not honor the room that I booked but instead they would put me in a equal value room called the Oceanfront King. This room has an ocean view but no balcony and it is a little bigger than the room that I booked. I did not want this room and I insisted that I get the room that I PAID FOR! If I wanted a window room, I would've just gotten the cheapest room. After about 15 minutes of him typing in some stuff, he goes to the back to speak to his "manager" and he came back to tell me that the room I booked will be available the next day. Almost as if I didn't complain they wouldn't have gave me the balcony room. Still pretty upset that they didn't tell me prior to my arrival and the room was booked 3 weeks in advance. I agreed to stay in the room they provided for one night. The next morning around 10 am, I texted the front desk to see if my room was available and they told me that the room would be available at 3pm. They told me that they can move our belongings for us if we decided to go out but from the way things were being handled already, I didn't feel comfortable leaving my possessions in their hands. So we canceled our lunch plans and stayed at the hotel beach. Paid $160 for a beach bed, I don't understand why there is a charge for this but I guess this is how they make their money? At 3pm, I get notified that the room is ready. I go to the front desk and they give me the keys to my new room. The front desk clerk asks the bell boy to open the old room door for me because the keys to the old room no longer works. The bell boy comes up with me and leaves me to carry 5 bags by myself. It was really unbelievable!!!! After all this, I decided to stay away from the hotel activities for the remainder of the trip. The day we check out, I asked to see an itemized list of the purchases I made, beach bed, lunch at the hotel restaurant, drinks at the pool and drinks on the beach. That was supposed to be everything as far as the charges go but then I noticed a bunch of charges from the minibar. I do admit that I removed some of the items in the mini fridge to make room for some of the things I purchased from CVS but everything I removed was carefully placed on the side of the minibar. They claim that there is a sensor on the items but it did not explain the cashews and M&M's that were charged not even near the refrigerator. After explaining to the front desk clerk that those were not my charges, he gave me a look as if he was saying" are you sure" type of look. He then goes to management again and they remove all the charges. I don't like being embarrassed in front of other hotel patrons and this is exactly what happened to me twice! First, I have to plea my case that I should have a balcony room that I paid for when it should have never even gotten to that point. As I check out, I am pleading my case, making me feel like I am some sort of criminal. I would have happily paid for the things I used or consumed but this was not the case. If I am spending close to 600 a night for a room I think I should be able to afford a few overcharged M&Ms and Cashews. Overall, this hotel is not the same hotel I went to 6 years ago. The only good about this hotel was the nice smell in the lobby and the beach attendee Issac. Everything else was extremely subpar for the price you pay to stay here. I would recommend going somewhere else for this price.…
I come to trip advisor to make sure I’m staying at a great place. I go the reviews for the details. Let me do you a favor and save you time. Book your next stay in Miami here. I cannot put into words how amazing this place is. All the employees are so kind and happy. Oscar at the front desk started the experience off right. You can tell he loves what he does. After check in he showed my friends and I around the hotel and took photos for us at the balcony. Every time we walked by Oscar he greeted us like family. All the other guests would say hi to him and he would say hi to them and greet them by their first name. I’ve traveled a lot and the service Oscar provides is 5 star, that’s the vibe I want when I’m on vacation! Can’t wait to come back!
This is a beautiful hotel, with tons of art-dec charm and a cool vibe. A music festival overlapped with our stay, which was on the one hand enjoyable, but made a stay with kids challenging. The front desk staff was super responsive and helped us find a more family friendly atmosphere down the beach! Will definitely come back to stay in the future.
STAFF: Helpful, warm, five-star service. Oscar, Lana, Arianna, Melody, Tea, Giuliano, and Jackie take pride in this retro boutique hotel and provided world-class service. ROOM: We booked a King Ocean Front with a pullout sofa bed. It was fantastic… and HUGE. The bathroom was massive (especially for South Beach). The minibar was epically stocked and there was an espresso machine too! We watched the glorious sunset and sunrise from our huge window. It was so quiet I thought maybe no one was on either side of us, until I saw our neighbors the next morning heading to the rooftop terrace with coffee. The rooftop terrace was incredible! Oscar even made sure we knew how to access the terrace! POOL: The pool was top-notch. The water was the perfect temperature, crystal clear, not crowded, tranquil, quality guests and very polished staff. I love that they have a delightful young man dedicated to escorting you to available padded loungers. I’m sure this would be especially helpful at times when it’s near capacity - no awkward weaving through the chairs and scooting them around to fit your group. CABANA: We were so fortunate to have a cabana our first day, as we wanted to heal our sunburns from our cruise. Svetlana took excellent care of us and anticipated our every need. The cabana had a large cushioned couch, cushioned ottoman, coffee table, SMEG mini fridge, standing retro cooler, fan, large TV, towels, storage, and a super rad orange safe. The piña coladas were boozy and not too sugary. Pro-tip: go with a double. Lunch review below… BEACH: Direct, easy access. The private beach is steps from the hotel - just stroll through the bamboo tunnel, which runs parallel to the pool, exit the secure door (you need a room key to get in), a few steps across the bike/walking trail to a cute little sandy trail and you’ll see the navy and white striped Nautilus umbrellas and loungers. FOOD: The cappuccinos at the coffee bar in the lobby were perfect. The lunch from the Cabana Club was delish. We ordered the Cubano, Tuna Togarashi Salad, and Kids Hamburger. This was our 4th Cuban Sandwich on our vacation, and it was the best! LOCATION: I preferred the location of Nautilus (18th and Collins) on South Beach over the other hotel (9th Street and Collins) we stayed at before our cruise. It is quieter and more upscale. It’s a short walk or Uber to Española Way, the shops and restaurants on Lincoln Road, and the Port of Miami was only about 15 minutes. Final thoughts: Our 8 year old kid said this resort was her favorite part of our vacation - beating Atlantis and the cruise ship!!! We were married at Four Seasons The Biltmore Santa Barbara and the service level at Nautilus was beyond any Four Seasons we’ve stayed at. It was truly paradise and we’re already planning a return trip. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer.…
One of the very few hotels in South Beach actually worth the money. Rooms don't have smelly carpets but tiles on the floors, comfy beds, spacious rooms (no problem to open big suitcases), coffee makers in rooms and bikes for free! Delicious restaurant with pool view, awesome beach. I would just improve the cleanliness of windows and elevators + the elevators are extremely slow ;) The staff is really helpful, though.
Nautilus by Arlo is hands down one of the best hotels in Miami Beach. I have nothing but amazing things to say about this hotel. This is my 4th time staying. From the rooms to the front desk staff to the pool staff, everything was perfect. Oscar, at the front desk gave nothing but good vibes and was always willing to help! The pool staff, Eva, Belen, Arianna and Jackie were so kind.
Every single staff member we encountered were beyond gracious and lovely. It made such an impression on us, and I can honestly say I’ve never experienced a full staff being as hospitable and lovely as I have here at nautilus, everyone at check in, Leo I believe, Oscar and Stefania, and Ava, Isaac and will out at the pool and beach, and everyone who’s names I don’t remember. The room was lovely and comfortable, the pool area and beach access were amazing. I would return here in a heart beat. Miami is beautiful but the service here stands out the most. Thank you!
I had a fantastic stay at the Arlo- rooms are nice and clean, the hotel has a very nice bright energy and the staff is amazing. I love walking in and seeing Al the gorgeous plants, the coffee shop and the little boutique inside. Front desk staff were a 10/10 assuring we were having a good stay. Isaac M by the beach was the most wonderful, very personable and was always a absolute joy to be around. He Checked in on me multiple times assuring I was well taken care of!
We had a wonderful stay at the Nautilus, especially due to amazing service by Isaac at the beach and Lana (Svedlana) at the pool. Isaac and Lana were constantly checking in to see how they could help us and always with a smile on their face. They made us feel like special, valued guests. Isaac and Svedlana are amazing at what they do! The concierge initially gave us a room without a balcony in error, but were gracious and made sure to switch our room as soon as they could. The hotel rooms are gorgeous and the view from the balcony is spectacular. The lobby even smells amazing. The staff treat you like royalty when you stay at the Nautilus. Second time staying here and will definitely be back!
We have been to The Nautilus many times previously. If you want a terrific time with an incredible poolside vibe and extraordinary service, this is the Miami hotel for you. From check in with Oscar to our check out 5 days later, we could not have asked to be taken care of any better. Special kudos to Svetlana, who served us poolside 4 days. She was extraordinary and super friendly, without being overly talky--always respecting our downtime and privacy--but make sure my wife and I always had what we needed-drinks. lunch, hydration. On the last day, it was my wife's birthday, and "Lana" brought out a chocolate cake with candle and we sang HB to her! She could not have been more pleased and blown away by the service. Truly a few days in paradise--Thank you Team Nautilus!
