5+ stars! Room was small, but it didn't matter because we were only in the room to sleep (bed was comfortable). Staff was very friendly & very helpful. They stored some fish I caught on a charter in their freezer until I left 2 days later. The included breakfast was plentiful & delicious with eggs & a meat. Beach chairs in your room & beach towels at the front desk for you to take across the street to the beautiful beach. No need for a rental car as everything you want is a short walk away. I highly recommend the Avalon and will stay there again.
My wife and I could not have been happier in this iconic little gem. From the genuine warm welcome at reception desk each and every day to the impeccably clean accommodations. We were impressed with the newly renovated room with beach front views. The Restaurant, Fish called Avalon on the property may honestly be the best food and service I ever experienced. I say this having lived in nyc all my life, so I like to think I know a bit about great restaurants. The complimentary breakfast included was good and just right for your morning start. Highly recommend and look forward to my return in May. Thank you to the entire team of the Avalon Hotel for a memorable experience!
Had a wonderful week at the Avalon Hotel in South Beach! Truly a fantastic location on the main strip of collins avenue. My family felt at home and want to extend a special thanks to the great desk team who went above and beyond. Shout out to Carmelo, Julio and Jeff and Solomon for their hospitality and to the great restaurant team for amazing dinner. We enjoyed dinner so much that we went back 3 of our 4 nights. We even had the pleasure of meeting Chef Kal who took the time to greet our table. Breakfast was good and abundant and my ocean front room was really nice and well appointed. Cannot wait to come back next year!
My husband and I stayed only one night, in between a Keys vacation and heading home. We arrived wishing we had stayed in the Keys longer and skipped South Beach. As you can probably guess, we decided within a few ours of our arrival, we wanted the whole vacation to be longer so we could stay longer in both places. The hotel staff was very helpful at check-in. The lobby is lovely. Our room was beyond lovely, a corner room on the second floor with great views of the park and beach. We didn't spend much time in the room, but had a great time at the beach, lunch at a nearby restaurant, and cigars and drinks at Espanola Cigar Bar. On returning to the hotel, we saw a completely full hotel restaurant, definitely a step up from the surrounding restaurants. We need to try it next time. We appreciated the hotel provided beach chairs and towels. Parking was nearby and cost $20 for an overnight stay. Sadly, we had to skip what looked like a great breakfast to get to the airport. One caveat: Room 206 is on Ocean Drive and the nearby restaurant/bar is open til at least 1:30 am. It can get loud. …
Close to the beach , nice pool ( no pool) but still nice hotel, good food ( the best in Miami) very nice lady from the breakfast time, smillng and carrying about her guests. Staff is good and service-minded.
Great location on Ocean Drive in the heart of the action. Charming atmosphere with excellent service. Continental breakfast offered made to order omelettes, and some fantastic fresh made breads and pastries. Unfortunately, we did not dine in the restaurant, but both nights it was packed and everyone looked like they were enjoying a great meal – the smells were to die for! Rooms were smallish but well kept. We will be back!
Presently staying at Avalon Hotel. I’m not adverse to the cold coming from Ireland, but don’t think I have ever stayed in such a chilly feeling hotel room. We were assigned room 211 which has a view into a dark alley. Can actually see what’s on television in property located across alley so little privacy. Our room is so cold. Seems to be draught from window and heater in room is not working. Reported the defective heater to front desk and requested mobile heater device several times but front desk said there were none left. Obviously not the only guest finding the hotel rooms cold hence lack of heaters. Room is also quite cramped. Not a lot of room to open suitcase etc. Don’t think I would return to the Avalon.
We stayed here for four nights - right on Ocean Drive but in the rooms it's totally quiet. We had what was described as a partial sea view room but there was really nothing partial about it! Inside the hotel retains the same Deco feel as outside, and the staff were uniformly friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was good too, and the restaurant is top notch.
This Hotel perfect for South Beach, being right on Ocean Drive, and this place certainly comes to life at night, it’s always nice to walk out of your hotel and see people taking pictures of the place and the classic Oldsmobile parked outside. As this is the Art Deco area the inside as well as the exterior needs preserving the rooms have been modernised but within these constrains. There are some nice touches of complimentary water and beach seats within the rooms. The front of house staff and housekeeping are extremely helpful. Breakfast is on a continental basis with hot scrambled eggs and sausage patties these was also a good selection of pastries and Croissants. At night the breakfast room and veranda convert to a restaurant mostly seafood with a good selection of wines. There is a drop off area outside the main entrance with car parking at $20 per night 200m away although you have to drive around the block as most roads are one way within this area.…
As part of our Florida holday, we spent the weekend in Miami and stayed at the Avalon Hotel. Have to say, what a great location, on Ocean Drive and a two minute walk to the beach. Great atomosphere loads of restaurants and bars and people showing off their cars. We had two rooms booked, both modern, clean and spacious. Staff were very friendly and helpful. There is no car parking but a block behind the hotel is a multi-story car park and we left the car there for the weekend. The hotel has a very popular restaurant and offers complimentry breakfast but there are plenty of options to eat elsewhere and although the area is very popular we never had a problem getting a table. They also provide deck chairs in the rooms for you to use on the beach and towels in reception. Would definately go back again!…
