I normally do not write critical reviews of my hotels stays, but feel that this one is warranted and need to make an exception! The reason I say this is that this hotel is supposedly under the Marriott brand, and it is anything but! I will list my observations as follows: 1) only 2 hangers in the closet; 2) a knot was added to the electric cord of the iron to keep it from recoiling [a dangerous proposition]; 3) the AC was set at 64, but it never cooled down to feel real comfortable - and it was hot in the room in the middle of the night; 4) the fridge in the room was mediocre in turning my drinks cold even when the thermostat was turned all the way down; 5) when I checked in via the app, I still had to stand in line to get a room key (said the "system was not working"). When I complained of these issues, they said, well, we can offer you free breakfast and when I said no, they proceeded to want to give me points. At this point I realized that they were not listening; rather, they wanted to cover the issues by offering me "free" stuff. Certainly not deserving of the Marriott Brand!

This Aloft is a little older, although, they did some renovations. The rooms were large, which was nice. The location is okay, however, you are not really walking distance to anything major. You are also pretty much forced to do valet if you have a car with you because the street parking has a time limit. The staff was very kind and the pool and workout room were just fine. Breakfast is a joke and don't even bother with it as it is nothing but a few bagels and coffee. I have seen better Aloft's in other cities. If in Miami again, would rather just stay at one of their other property's.

Arrived Aloft Brickell on Mother's Day. They upgraded us (yay!) and Raul Hernandez at the front desk was awesome! So helpful and polite. Gave us a terrific restaurant recommendation. Really enjoyed our stay.

The staff was very helpful and provided useful information about the city and things to do. Very valuable for someone not from the area. The WXYZ bar had a great atmosphere. I will stay again the next time I visit Miami.

My wife and I stayed here two nights at the end of a four week US trip. We had a great stay, and thank the staff (Alvaro at check in and JD at check out) for being such great Aloft / Marriott ambassadors. They helped make our stay really special. The hotel is in a great part of town; an easy stroll to bars, restaurants and shops (also the Metro train is very close). We liked the lobby art exhibition (see my photograph / example). Our room was big, clean and super-comfy. We would / will definitely stay here again.
