Delightful location, excellent service, wonderful staff. We will be back when visiting Miami again. Great food and drinks poolside. Rooms were clean and comfortable, great views from our balcony, bayside location was delightful, short walk over the bridge to the Brickell area. We did have to ask for a better room, which they could have given us without asking since the hotel was not full in August.
THIEVES they are stealing money and personal stuff, they open safes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! worst experience ever, they have an organized gang to steal!!! when you complain, they mistreat you and don't let you report them to the police!
We enjoyed our stay at Mandarin Oriental Miami very much. This hotel offers exceptional service to the guests. We can highly recommend it. The location is very good and the views to the Bay are second-to-none.
We had the absolute pleasure of staying here as night one of our honeymoon. We felt luxurious from the moment we stepped on the property. It was a memorable stay and I hope to come back in the near future.
Having just checked out, for sure I won’t be returning. I booked through Amex fine hotels and resorts, paying just over $1200 for a suite for the night. Initial valet and front desk impressions were good. Service and experience was pleasant and attentive. Upon arriving in our suite (bearing in mind we booked for three adults) there was no additional bed. The suite was tired and was desperate for refurbishment. Looking out over the balcony the roof just one floor below us was covered in discarded cigarette ends and empty bottles. Not a great view. Not consistent with the brand or experience one would expect. I contacted the reception to advise that I would need an additional bed and that I would like to move due to the poor view. The initial response was polite and positive and I was told I would receive a call back. Shortly after, I received a call back and was told that the only option that I had was to take an additional room at $490. I explained that I had booked for three guests, that the hotel had accepted that reservation and that I would have expected that this would be a pretty normal set of circumstances and that they should be able to resolve. I again requested to move suite and reminded that one of the benefits of Amex fine hotels and resorts was a comp upgrade based on availability and perhaps this could be an option to be explored if they didn’t have the capacity to accommodate three within the suite. Upon checking online, there was availability, however I was sternly told that this wouldn’t be happening and I wasn’t having a better room for “free”. I wasn’t after an upgrade, just somewhere for my mum to sleep. I moved to the new suite on the 14th floor. The view was far superior and I was content with this. The internals of the suite again were tired and in need of refurbishment. The sofa was stained, the carpet frayed. The solution for the third adult was a fold away bed. This has been left unmade and with one bottom sheet and one top sheet placed on the top of the unmade bed. One pillow. I requested an additional pillow from housekeeping and a duvet and for the bed to be made. A pillow was delivered, no duvet, no making of the bed. Unfortunately, when sitting on the provided bed it was clear that it wasn’t suitable for an adult. It was much too short to accommodate an adult, legs hanging over the end, the springs on the mattress protruded through the fabric, totally uncomfortable and an incredible squeaking noise each time one moved. Certainly not what one would expect for $1200 It was getting late in the evening. I visited the front desk in an attempt to resolve the issue. The attitude from the senior at the desk was horrendous, totally uninterested and dismissive. I travel frequently and can honestly say this was one of the worst experiences I have encountered. The gent kept telling me that this was my fault, I had booked a room with a king bed and therefore what did I expect they did. I was aggressively told that they had provided a solution by offering for me to pay for another room. I explained I didn’t want to buy another room, just wanted a solution that was viable. I explained that the bed that they had provided simply wasn’t suitable for an adult. There was no solution offered, no offer of good will, no apology just a totally negative and somewhat aggressive attitude. The gent suggested that the three adults stay in the one king bed if I wasn’t happy as he wouldn’t be doing anything else to resolve. A totally laughable solution. It was clear that I wasn’t going to move forward with this chap. I suggested that instead on arguing with me, he should perhaps take on board some of the points that I was raising, that I booked a room advertised as capable of accommodating four people, I arrived with 3 and I wasn’t being unreasonable for wanting the three of us to sleep comfortably when paying $1200 for the night. He laughed and again told me that it was my fault due to the category of room I booked. I genuinely am unable to understand how this level of service can be deemed as acceptable, but clearly it is commonplace in this hotel. Perhaps demand outweighs the need to provide a decent level of service and treat each guest with the level of respect that they deserve. I requested that the bed they had provided be switched to see if there was one with a better quality mattress at least. I also requested the duvet that I had already asked for and left the front desk. The duvet was delivered to the room. No alternative bed. My mum ended up sleeping on the sofa as the bed was simply not useable. A real shame as the hotel has the capability of providing a great experience, however, was totally let down by the service. What was supposed to have been a nice evening in Miami, turned out to be a total nightmare, the sole responsibility for this being with the Mandarin Oriental.…
We have stayed at the Mandarin Oriental Miami since it opened. Never lets you down. We went slightly off piste and also stayed at Cheeca Lodge Islamorada - what a mistake to make!!! See separate review. MO Miami: Rooms excellent - Bar Excellent - Pool and pool service could not be faulted - restaurant brilliant. Try the Brickell City Centre shopping mall which is only a short walk away. 10/10 - nearly stayed on Miami beach - whole family glad we didn't.
The hotel staff at all levels was as to be expected at a Mandarin Oriental Hotel. No complaints. It is the property itself that falls far from the mark. The hotel is in need of a major face lift. The in room furnishings are tired and begging to be retired. The lobby cries out to be refurbished. The furnishings are old, dinged and uncomfortable. The pricing at MO Miami is not in balance with the experience delivered.
Our stay at Mandarin Oriental Miami was great. No real complaints from check in to check out. I will say we were not aware of the $52.00 per night for valet. I didn't see it listed anywhere on the site prior to booking. The valet was the least enjoyable part of the stay, we had to wait 10-15 mins every time, even if we called ahead to retrieve our vehicle. Every thing else we asked for was accommodated and quickly provided when asked. I would recommend and stay here again. We had a veranda room with a great view. When we checked in they claimed that we booked a double room but after showing the confirmation this was quickly rectified. The pool service was great and very professional and the food was good and fresh. You do not get free wi-fi in the rooms and have to sign up for their Fans of M.O. to gain access to the free wi-fi and without it there was a charge to join. This wasn't that much of a deterrent for me but it's something to note for those who may have work to take care of on a family trip. The rooms were quiet except for the last day, there was loud construction or something going on near by. Also the veranda rooms stick out further than the rooms above them and when they drain, water pours directly onto the patio. Do not leave towels or anything out on the patio, it will be soaked. I don't know where the water is coming from but you do not want to be out there or you will get wet, kind of weird that it would drain like that. All in all good stay and would come again.…
The staff at this hotel was incredibly kind, helpful and professional. They went above and beyond making us feel at home and comfortable during our stay. Everyone from the concierge, restaurant staff, the spa and housekeeping were just delightful. It was a lovely experience. The staff was AMAZING!!!!!!!!
A beautiful property tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Miami but 5 minutes away from downtown. The energy here was amazing, the food off the chain, spectacular view from the 18th floor of my suite. The star of the show was the staff at the pool the kindest most attentive team. I will be back soon, highly recommend this place.
