I was excited to spend a weekend at the JW Marriott on Brickell, I alway try and book Marriott hotel first. What a disappointment, the rooms, amenities and restaurants are all very old and dated. The breakfast was wanting, the sauna broken and the gym small. Some of those things can be overlooked but one thing that was not small was the room rate, the rate was similar or close to other 5 star hotels on the same block. Very disappointing experience and will make me rethink my loyalty to Marriott. The only positive is that the staff was friendly
The best part of this hotel is its location in the heart of Brickell. The staff is friendly and eager to please. The property is quite dated and worn, so it’s not what you would expect from. JW Marriott. The furniture in our room was well worn. Although the concierge lounge is open, there is not much there except water and coffee.
This has been the absolute worst experience I’ve ever had in a hotel: The first room they gave us smelled like sewerage to the extent that the bellman noted it when bringing our luggage. We called and they happily said they’d move our room… 2 hours later we’re sitting in the same room still waiting on the bellman that they said would be coming up with our new room info. After 3 trips up and down to the concierge to get a bellman and them apologizing for forgetting about us… the bellman still never came up. In a final attempt I go once more, to accommodate for the inconvenience they gave us $150 credit and claim to upgrade us to a nicer room/balcony view. The level of humidity and muggy air in this room was almost worse than the smell of sewer. The room still had a scent, the water was always at a burning hot temperature and could not cool down.. the iron was dirty and ruined a white blouse. I made them very aware that I would be writing an honest review. Not to mention they lied twice: 1. They insisted the bellman had our belongings and were waiting for us to enter the new room. However because we thought our belongings were stolen (since they were never brought to the room) we went to the old room to check and they were still sitting there 2. The concierge had told me they could move our stuff while we used the $150 on lunch to accommodate for all their mistakes. It never happened and she said she didn’t “understand” that I was going to take that offer…. I’ve never had such a bad experience and I’ve stayed at this hotel multiple times. I can’t emphasize enough how poor the accommodations were and how the hotel has significantly downgraded. You’re better off at a motel.…
BEDBUGS. Do NOT stay at this JW Marriott. We stayed May 13 to 14 2022 and when we woke up in the morning I had been bitten by bed bugs. Photos of one of the bedbugs we caught and the bites it left. Now hotel management is denying this ever happened and won’t reimburse for the stay… Terrible experience, do not come here unless you want bedbugs yourself.
JW Marriott Miami is located in a great area in Brickell Ave. The hotel offers the level of class of JW Marriott, wonderful breakfast, very clean and comfortable. What makes this hotel extra attractive is the staff and the level of service they provide to make your stay a memorable stay. My last stay was in May and looking forward to my next stay. Every member of staff goes beyond call of duty to serve you. I had a pleasure of meeting a new employee Ms. Girandi Calunga, guest relation manager, Ms. Fleur , front supervisor, Mr. Cory front desk and Mr. Ricardo, embasador representative. These employees show incredible hospitality and the reason, i will return to this hotel.
Extremely dated JW. This Marriott is not the standard of the JW franchise. As it is a regular Marriott with the initials on the outside. Very few amenities in room and decor is old and tired. On the plus side the pool is very nice and is close to some nice restaurants. I do not feel it is worth the cost. Especially when you are expecting the service and amenities of a JW.
Very friendly staff at reception ready to be flexible with special needs, nice set of restaurants, and well located on Brickell Ave. The only improvement opportunity is the gym, that is very small and has very basic equipment. Other than that great place to stay.
Let's start with my room not being ready upon check-in. The room carpeting looked like it was still from the 1970s and had a musty smell to it. Updates are desperately needed! Elevator key only allowed me to go to my floor and community floors, even though I was there on business and would sometimes need to be on colleagues' floors. Paid for highest speed WiFi, couldn't get connected to it. Was told someone was coming right up to help, nobody ever showed. Completely ruined a business pitch I was doing. Ordered room service a couple of times, and both times order was not complete. And the worst was that I had left a couple of shirts in the closet (yes, my fault) and when I called to see if there was a lost and found they had no information. Was told they would check with head of housekeeping and someone would get back to me. No one got back to me. Terrible, terrible experience!…
Quick business trip to Miami made me stay here, Marriott loyal here so opted this property, amazing location, service and amenities, the only thing I didn’t like was that my room type was not available and the rate was extremely high due to some city events going on, nonetheless the rest made up for it.
Excelente service upon arrival from the supervisor jesus greeted very nicely at valet door very nice very good very attent with parking my car awsome warm service from Jesus at door entrance definitely a place to re visit and come back to love it
