This was our 4th trip to the EL and every time has been great. Their off season rates will keep us coming back and the way they manage a perfectly located beach hotel is the icing on the cake.Keep the town unique and laid back and free of high rises, putt putts, go kart tracks and slimey bars and we'll... We have been coming to El Governor for about eight years and I must say, every time surpasses the last time. The rooms are always clean, the staff and housekeeping are friendly and helpful. The pool is open year-round and has a lot of seating options. One-stop shopping as they have the best gift shop around. Whether you need drinks,... More

Great location right on Mexico Beach...typical non chain beach front motel..shows it's wear and tear...but everything worked...plenty of hot water and a/c...we had a king bed and it was OK...we didn't come to the beach to stay in the room. We had a full fridge in our room and microwave and coffee maker. The entire staff was helpful and very... More

This is the perfect beach place. We stayed in the annex, right on the beach, full kitchen , grills out back. The tiki hut is awesome. The only downside, our room needed some upkeep. The shower curtain had some mold on it and the towels were getting thin. However, it won't deter us from staying again. The people are great... More

Every room has a beach front view! Nice little balcony and fairly spacious rooms. The kitchenette was a nice bonus. The beautiful strip of white beach just made my day! Restaurants and a grocery store within walking distance made this a great place to stay.

Awesome setup. I stayed in the Annex and loved it. Plenty of different areas to eat outside and grill. Beautiful view of the ocean. Heated pool in winter. Live entertainment on weekends! Really cool gift shop and tiki bar too! Walking distance to Toucans bar and grill as well! Will definitely be back!

We enjoyed our trip in August to Mexico Beach and our stay at El Governor. Our room was on the 2nd floor. We had plenty of room We loved the balcony overlooking the beach. Having the kitchenett was a plus. We would stay here again.

I visited Mexico beach for a fishing tournament and stayed two nights at the el Governor motel. The rooms are a decent size and slightly updated including floors and tv but not the bathroom which is disappointing. The beds are decent and the balcony was nice but needed to be cleaned. The live entertainment at night was a nice touch... More

This place is a classic! Pristine sugar white beaches and gentle turquoise surf. What's not to love. Clean, simple and neat as a pin. Rooms with supplied kitchenettes and large refrigerators. Perfect for large family retreat or a relaxing couples weekend away. Great common areas! Large pool with lounging area, beach side beverage bar. Nice gift shop. Welcoming front desk... More

As already noted in many of the prior reviews, yes, this motel is a older place than what you might find in some of the other beach towns, but it is fairly well kept up and accommodating. The king bed room we stayed in was a standard type room you'd expect anywhere. The floors are nicely done in a good... More
