I am a Director of Engineering at a resort hotel in Orlando, Fl. This was our 5th time staying at this resort and it turned out to be a nightmare. I booked 3 rooms , 2 - for 2 nights and 1 - for one night. The day after we arrived my brother in law checked out of his room because he was only staying one night. That afternoon I get a call on when I'm going to check out of my room. I went to the front desk to tell them that I booked it for two nights but they said I only booked it for one night. The front office supervisor/manager came out from the back office and told me that I made a mistake when I booked online. He said that I booked a queen room with no sleeper sofa. I know that I booked a king bed with pullout sofa because it was my wife, daughter and 7 month baby. They made me move to the other tower with one bed and no sofa and broken down elevator. I asked them for a rollaway and crib and had to keep calling. They finally brought them 4 hours later. When we went to our new room, the keys didn't work. When I told them at the desk, they asked me if I pushed down on the handle. My response to them was, I know how these locks work. They also started knocking on the other room I booked for 2-nights asking my cousin when he was going to check out. I had to go back to the front desk and asked them why they were knocking on his door and they couldn't give me a straight answer. I guess this time it was their fault but they wouldn't admit to it, but they were quick to tell me a few times that I made a mistake booking my room. This past March, my wife reserved a room for the weekend for my birthday. When we tried to check in, they couldn't find our reservation.…
As an educator, this oceanfront property was selected to take a break before returning to school in two days. Reservations were speficially made for a room with a full beach view at about $615 over 4 days and 3 nights. To my disappointment, we were given a room with a roof and North beach view and two complimentary draft, wine or non alcoholic beverages from the bar. Please be very specific in making lodging reservations. Take nothing for granted especially with the economy rebounding and the practice of overbooking. Lesson learned. Now, the Longboards restaurant was pricy but the food and service was fabulous. They did not disappoint. Unfortunately, I don't think we will return to this property.
Nicely updated beach hotel. We had a great visit. Longboards restaurant/bar— food was excellent. Morning/lunch staff very attentive. Evening waitstaff needs some re-training at restaurant. We were ignored by evening waitstaff. We actually went back to eat for lunch. Mya was great and really took care of us. She made sure to provide us with the best experience after the poor evening experience. Will definitely return to this hotel in the future.
We walked in from the street, and wanted some quick breakfast, and sit under the tiki watching the waves. We were greeted by a lovely girl, Tee, who was the buffet server. She explained how it works during the health alert, and she attended to our every need throughout our visit. We've been coming to this hotel for a couple decades, and we must say that this was the best service we have had here. I hope to see her again, and will look forward to having great service from the other staff in the future.
