This cutely decorated house has about six guest bedrooms, each with their own entrances. The pillows were so comfy. I loved the view and peacefulness. The check in and out processes are done through the internet and key codes, and the breakfast is more self-serve. Crane Creek Inn was clean and unique. There are a few parking spots on the lot. The historical downtown Melbourne is within walking distance and a beach is a ten minute drive over a bridge.
Booked this place for three nights to include wedding anniversary. Left after two nights and it's complicated: The property I give 5 stars, the current environment 1 star, thus the 3 given overall. The Very Good: We had the Dolphin room or suite (600 sf) off the pool deck with full kitchen minus a dishwasher. Extremely well kept and furnished with plenty of everything you need for a short stay for two people. The Nespresso machine is a nice touch with a lot of choices on hand. The property has a chicken coop on the lawn and fresh eggs were provided upon arrival. Nice. The sheets and pillows were supremely comfortable, using bamboo mix high count sheets and bamboo gel pillows, the best ever - so much that I ordered a couple for ourselves online. Dolphin is right next to the pool deck (as are two other non-breakfast units) and with a full kitchen, these units do not get the second B of the B&B. That's right, no breakfast provided, so for this unit, I called it a B&B-B. Not a big issue really but a little odd in my opinion. What if you don't care to cook? In any event, plenty of places to eat including a great bakery just a few moments away by foot. With that in mind, we truly enjoyed Ichabod's on Front Street and the new Aya Mediterranean restaurant that's just up the street both for dinner. Outstanding in fact. So continuing with the Very Good, the property is eclectic, clever and fun with kayaks to use if you like, Adironack chairs on the creek (river) deck, a couple of comfortable looking hammocks and that chicken coop or hen house. Pretty neat. I hear fishing is pretty good as well. The pool is great and there is an in-water table sitting area with an umbrella so you can relax and chat. Communications with the owner are efficient and self-checkin means putting your code in the electronic door lock. Easy. Now, the Very Bad: First, THIS IS NOT THE FAULT OF THE OWNER or the property itself, but its proximity to a railroad trestle just a couple hundred yards away and a current long term project to build a new bridge next to it. The web site cautions visitors (rather mildly) about train noises and explains that white noise machines bedside should mask out the train noise. Perhaps in some of the in-house units not facing the water, this might be true but the Dolphin has two windows facing Crane Creek with a straight shot over water to the trestle and new bridge. About four to five trains rumble by in the overnight wee hours and sound their crossing horns. In the Dolphin, despite the feeble efforts of the white noise machine, the horns and rumbling will wake up the light to moderate sleeper. No question. Now, there is pile-driving going on during the day (I'm told not all days) but our second day, they were at it hard, sending an eardrum-destroying 87db decibels on the pool deck (db phone app). Of course, that made any relaxation outdoors in the afternoon until about 5 totally out of the question and it was pretty objetionable inside as well. If you are not going to hang around during the day, no issue. AGAIN not the fault of the property or owner, they can do nothing about it, but you may wish to check ahead if you're going in the next few months to see if the bridge pilings have been completed. The train noise, you're stuck with (maybe you enjoy it) and depending on your room, it may or not bother you. I feel that the train noise was downplayed a bit in the property description, at least for this unit, but that and the pile-driving was enough to make me forfeit my last day and leave early. Too bad because otherwise it is a great property with lots to do within a few blocks. I hesitated to say anything but to be fair, I'd have looked elsewhere to stay had I known the real impact of the trains and construction, at least as I experienced on the lower pool deck room.…
We have been staying at Crane Creek Inn since we discovered it many years ago. The Inn and grounds are absolutely beautiful. The pool area, yard and views of the beautiful Crane Creek are so relaxing and enjoyable. When you need to break up the peace and relaxation, town is just a short walk away. There are many restaurants and some local shops in the historic downtown Melbourne area, all within short walking distance. We look forward to our trip each year. The new owners, Mark and Meghan are wonderful. If you're heading to Melbourne, you really should check this place out. We are already looking forward to our next stay.
We spent six nights here and loved every minute of it. We had the pleasure of meeting the hosts, Megan and Mark, who were extremely nice. They do not live in the B&B, but live moments away and are available at any time via text. The hosts do not serve breakfast, rather they provide cereals, toast, yogurts, fresh eggs (and I mean fresh because there is an amazingly cute chicken coop in the backyard), a waffle batter and a waffle maker, as well as Nespresso coffee (delicious) and milk and juice boxes.
Ibis room was perfect with tub and shower. Located looking over pool area and includes large outdoor shaded deck area. Hosts were very accommodating and made certain we had everything we needed. Yes, there is a train but owner provide white noise machine and ear plugs for the couple of times it rolls through the entire town.
It’s a nice place but it is not a bed and breakfast. You book on Airbnb which always includes outrageous fees . So you are charged a cleaning fee. You do not have the luxury of a real breakfast. Continental breakfast or no breakfast without an option to choose when booking rooms. Worth going and staying at this place. But deceptive , not a Bed and Breakfast .
We just spent on day, but had a lovely time. The pool is nice, located walking distance to many restaurants and great view of the river. We watched dolphins, manatees and birds from the deck. The hosts are very kind and fun to talk with. The only thing to be wary of is the trains, they keep running at night even. Not a deal breaker.
Inn itself and Royal Palm room we stayed in are very pretty and well maintained. BUT: Major noise issues. The room shares what seems to be a super-thin uninsulated wall with common area and you will hear Every.Single.Word, including music, extremely clearly whether you want to or not. We were hearing group conversations as late as 9-10 PM as if they were standing right next to us (which I suppose they probably were, just on the other side of the wall). A train comes through several times nightly and sounds its horn multiple times, so if that bothers you, this inn is not for you. Has "private" patio except that the breakfast room has a large slider that opens right onto your "private" patio so that other guests can access steps from your patio down to pool area. Since you do not have a thermostat, if you need to cool the room your only option is to open your drapes & the room's slider onto the patio - but that means clear line of sight between your room & breakfast room. Plus, when we opened our slider to cool off the room sometime after midnight, we discovered that peppy Muzak plays from outdoor speakers apparently all night long. Not restful, to say the least. Drapes also let lots of light into the room, so if you want to sleep late I wouldn't choose this room. The hosts do not mask, even when the guest is wearing a mask, and check-in is not socially distant and does not minimize contact with shared items like pens.…
Arrived a little early and we were warmly welcomed by Jeannie and Curt. Immediately felt at home since the house is immaculate and furnished beautifully! (Wish I had taken pictures inside, but just check out their website). I was meeting family from Orlando so we decided to meet each other halfway and decided Melbourne would be the place! Couldn’t have come up with a better option! Our rooms, the Ida Mae and Melbourne each distinctive in decor, both had outdoor patios. The Ida Mae, perfect for sit down breakfast, lunch or dinner; the Melbourne situated with a riverfront view was perfect for drinks and catching up which was exactly what we wanted to do! Quiet, serene and truly a perfect, picturesque setting. We did take a dip (2 hours) in the heated pool and finished the night off with a quick walk to a nearby Cuban restaurant where we purchased take-away appetizers for four! Visit was way too short! Have already told all my family and friends. Highly recommend it!…
We spent four nights in Marigot. As so as I opened the door I could tell how spotless the room was. It was as clean as could be and smelled delightful- sometimes rooms have that smell of humidity but this one did not. While we didn’t use the kitchen it was well appointed. The king size bed was very comfortable. Very pretty furnishings. The inn and property are very well kept. I spent a lot of my time enjoying watching fish and birds from the Adirondack chairs along the water. My husband said the pool was delightful. Couldn’t ask for a better location-on the water but away from the crowds and one block from great restaurants.
