We did a girls trip and there were 3 of us (adults). We had a one bedroom suite for 4 nights and it was plenty big and had everything we needed. There was a full kitchen with all kinds of kitchen staples, ie, towels, dish soap, hand soap, coffee pods, creamers and sugar, tin foil, pots, pans, baking dishes, salt and pepper. There were small appliances, ie, toaster, blender, Keurig. The refrigerator was not full size, but fit everything we needed. We were oceanfront on the 10th floor and that definitely made our stay as we had full view of the beach, pool area, and beautiful sunsets. It was a great spot to have a morning coffee or happy hour cocktail. We learned that this property is no longer a 'hotel' and each of the units is individually owned. Their is a desk that is manned 24/7 to check you in and provide your room key as well as answer questions.

There is no room service via the on-site restaurant SalePepe, but there is a local restaurant that will deliver (menus are in the room). We had lunch at the poolside Sal e Pepe one afternoon and it was delicious. They do not allow you to take the food to the beach or back to your room. There is no beach food/drink service unless you are a member of the Tarpon Club. You can of course take your own food/drinks to the beach and pool.

The beach has plenty of cushioned loungers and umbrellas. There are beach attendants who will make sure you have the chairs and move umbrellas as needed. The 'hotel guests' share beach space with the Tarpon Club. They take turns with respect to who has 'front row' on the beach. Sometimes it is the club, sometimes it is the hotel guests. The umbrella and towel colors are the differentiators. At the time we visited there were no beach tables (they lost them all in the storms). There are the same comfy loungers at pool. There is also a hot tub in the pool area. We were here at a time where it was not crowded so had no issues finding desirable seats.

The location is great and you are within walking distance of plenty of shops and restaurants. We had a rental car so were able to drive to the grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, and various other points of interest.

There is no daily maid service, but they will provide you with whatever you need. There were six beach towels in the room and we simply had to call to have them refreshed.

The bathroom was huge and had plenty of towels and toiletries. Again, if you need towels refreshed, or additional bathroom supplies, you just had to call and ask.

Everyone we came into contact with at the hotel from service desk, parking attendants, and maids, they were all friendly and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable.

This is not the JW Marriott nor a resort and the prices should give you that hint. However, our unit was updated, quiet, spotless, spacious, had a kitchen, a gulf-facing balcony, and pool. In addition we had towels, beach chair/umbrella service, and valet included with our room.

The beach walk was short and there is a bar/grill on the way.

We typically travel with our own amenities like shampoo and q-tips, so the fact that these items weren’t in the unit was no big deal to us. The kitchen had a full range, microwave, and fridge.

If you want the JW Marriott experience, it is under a 5 minute walk away and you can use their spa services, restaurants, coffee shops without having to pay $1200 per night to stay there. We walked over in the morning for coffee.

Booking here is a bit tricky, but after talking with the woman at the front desk, I understand it more. It seems that some of the units booked via AirBnB and VBRO are individually owned and therefore your unit may not be as updated as the others. In addition you may have to pay extra for the chair/umbrella and valet services. I believe some rooms booked via third party do not even offer the chair/umbrella service at all and those rooms have chairs available inside the room for you to take down. Maid service is also not included, but that was fine with us.

If you book via the Marco Beach Ocean Suites website directly, there is likelihood you will get a “Tom” room, which is updated and comes with the amenities listed above. You really need to call and ask directed questions to know what unit you’re renting.

After reading some reviews I was concerned about booking here. But when we came the service was excellent. We were able to get into our room at noon (yes it was August and not in season). There is one person checking you in and he was extremely nice and helpful. The room is a little dated but was very clean and had everything a couple needed in the kitchen. The one bedroom suit was huge. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom was very large as well. Our friends had a little more modern room which was more updated and also included everything above for their family of 5. Pool was super clean and refreshing and I actually watched the pool cleaner clean it and he went above and beyond!! The valet guys are so polite and suggested excellent restaurants to try!! Pool towels are huge and in great condition and you get beach chairs and an umbrella when you go down to the beach which was very accommodating.

Only negatives for us was there is no bathroom nearer the beach. You had to walk back to the lobby but it was fine for us adults but was a little inconvenient for the kids.

And the pool closed at 8 pm!! Right after the gorgeous sunsets. You could not even go there to chill with friends with a few drinks, hang or swim. There really was no where else to hang after sunset at all. It was very dark with no lighting even by the pool. We ended up walking two hotels down to the JW Marriott which is an absolutely gorgeous hotel with every amenity you want which also comes at a very high room price. But that’s where we spent our evening time and money instead of the Marco Ocean Beach

We will definitely return

Marco Beach Resort misrepresents itself as a “hotel” or “resort”. It does not have the traditional amenities of either. The building has been converted to condos. When you arrive there is merely someone at a desk in the lobby who hands you a key to the unit you booked. There isn’t a fully operational restaurant, and no room service. A separately owned and operated restaurant is located on the premises but serves dinner only. There is a beach bar but it is only open 11am to 5pm and serves only lunch and does not provide beach service.
While the beach view rooms are very nice there is an additional charge of $20 day to have a service change your bedding and clean your room. The room had no house phone.
The use of the beach facilities are split into two sections, with half the beach front operated by a separate private club and the other half available to Marco Beach guests. There are no beach amenities others than a chair and umbrella.

We use to stay at the Marco Beach Resort in years past when it was a beautiful hotel. It was a sad and shocking experience to find it is no longer what it use to be.

I’ll start by saying that I am a well travelled person who enjoys good service; however, the service provided by some of the staff was terrible. The manager of housekeeping/the hotel was very rude and unaccommodating. Every time we asked for additional bath towels or beach towels, we were questioned and had to call multiple times to obtain things that we were requested for the room. We were even question when we asked for additional creamer for our coffee. I did not feel that they provided warm accommodating service. They were in fact, rude.
Frank, who is a Bellman was wonderful. Great personality and provided us with lots of dining ideas on Marco Island. The gentleman who set up the beach chairs and the umbrellas were great as well. Definitely make a visit to Sale e Pepe for dinner. Excellent Italian food and service.

Absolutely read before booking a stay here. If you are looking for a peaceful and relaxaing vacation please go somewhere else. We were shocked that this resort is rated as high as it is. There is absolutely no service at this resort. The staff are not friendly AT ALL. The front desk is literally a temporary desk that just gives you the room keys. The staff were rude to me when I opted to park my own car in the garage. The pool area was absolutely gross and mobbed with the locals from Naples that had several large speakers blaring different types of music. All of the people were making sandwiches and eating INSIDE the pool. The pool water was absolutely disgusting because of the lack of control to follow the basic rules. My wife and I have to leave the pool numerous times because we were literally getting a headache from the volume of sound. There are only 5 umbrellas for an entire pool in the FLORIDA sun. Yes! 5 umbrellas! Depending upon where you booked your stay, you may or may not be able to sit on the chairs at the beach without paying $50.00 each day. It’s a cash only business but don’t worry they happen to squeeze the Florida tax in there (scam).. luckily our room was clean and renovated. We heard horror stories about bad smells and roaches in other reviews.

I come to Marco Island every summer with my family and stay at the Marco Beach Ocean Resort. We did not come last year because i was giving birth however we returned this summer to celebrate his first birthday. This is no longer a hotel even if they try to tell you it is. It is a rental intermediary where you stay in the rooms but basically have no hotel amenities- very disappointing. The facilities are abandoned, the rooms are not well maintained, they no longer have room service, they will not bring food or drink to the beach for you (need to order and eat AT the physical beach bar) and you cannot take what you order to your room. The service overall is not friendly or professional. Unless you are a "Tarpon Member" you have access to zero amenities. If you want to stay at an actual hotel go to the Hilton or the JW Marriott.

We stayed here years ago when this was truly a resort and hotel and loved it. When we decided to go on a spring break trip with the family decided to book the Marco Ocean Beach resort from their website. Shame on me for not checking the reviews, but this place is no longer a resort, and barely a hotel. I gave them a one star review for deception. The website has the same look and feel as the old resort website. I noticed immediately when we entered the lobby that the front desk was abandoned, and there was only a single desk with an employee there. Turns out this is the property manager and these rooms are all owned privately. Essentially it is an Airbnb. There is no longer food and drink service at the beach unless you belong to the Tarpon club, which is a newly formed beach country club of sorts. Housekeeping is at a minimum here, and when we stayed, one elevator was out of service. The property overall is fairly clean and quiet. The rooms could use some updating, but they are not terrible. There is a valet service which is nice and I have to say that my interaction with the property manager and valet was very positive. They need to take down the old website and strictly market this property as rental condos. If you are OK with that then you will be happy staying here. Unfortunately I booked under false pretenses. Make no mistake. This is not a resort and you are basically on your own while staying here.

To start off it seemed nice pulling up but as soon as you get to your room it smells of pet urine and mold. The ac filter is black as seen in picture. The second day here we seen mold trucks out front which makes sense to why it smelled. We stayed here for 5 nights and every single morning all you can hear is drilling and construction going on even on weekends. It is impossible to sleep past 8:30. The rooms have TVs with no Netflix or any type of entertainment we went and bought a Roku attachment to have something to watch at night. We were told there was free smoothies at a certain time never seen that. The bar that is by the beach is ridiculously expensive. 2 pina coladas almost 50 dollars. 2 high noons 25 dollars. They will let you buy drinks and bring them to the beach but if you try to buy food they will make you stay at the bar and not go to beach but if you are a club member you can order food on the beach. They have front row umbrellas and chairs for guests every time we went there where no seats left and had to wait a long time to find the guy who sets them up to get us one. He was either gone or sleeping under an umbrella. The pool is extremely tiny with non English speaking people the whole day there. We will not be staying at this hotel again. The Marriot next door is night and day to this place. As this was our first time to Marco island we know now not to stay here again.

Let's set expectations here and say this is not a hotel but a tidy place to hang your hat in a great location. The pool is not grand, but it's heated and the pool decks are clean.

My real issue with the Marco Beach Ocean Suites is that ahead of booking I had called the hotel to ask if it was handicapped accessible and I was told it was. The management company was kind of cold when I told them it was an unfair description and they said that while the hotel IS handicapped accessible, the beach is NOT handicapped accessible.

Fortunately the neighboring hotel the Tarpon Club helped us out with a beach wheelchair (thanks Romaine + team).

Bring beach towels: we only had 6 for the entire week between 4 of us and they are so thick that they never dried. There are no extra beach towels available.
There was only one elevator working the entire week we stayed.

No amenities like coffee/room service, sundries, or laundry. The spa does not have a shower (which is really only an issue the last day if you want to check out, stash your bags in the closet, stay at the beach, and then shower in the spa before your flight). Instead we checked out at 11 and went to Naples for the day ahead of our flight.

It's no longer a hotel, it's now condos. You can book it through Vrbo with the owner. I personally wouldn't stay here if you want a resort experience. They no longer have a pool bar and you have to pay to use the loungers on the beach. Nothing is within reach and having to carry beach chairs to and from the condo would be a pain. Stay at the Marriott.
