We stayed here years ago when this was truly a resort and hotel and loved it. When we decided to go on a spring break trip with the family decided to book the Marco Ocean Beach resort from their website. Shame on me for not checking the reviews, but this place is no longer a resort, and barely a hotel. I gave them a one star review for deception. The website has the same look and feel as the old resort website. I noticed immediately when we entered the lobby that the front desk was abandoned, and there was only a single desk with an employee there. Turns out this is the property manager and these rooms are all owned privately. Essentially it is an Airbnb. There is no longer food and drink service at the beach unless you belong to the Tarpon club, which is a newly formed beach country club of sorts. Housekeeping is at a minimum here, and when we stayed, one elevator was out of service. The property overall is fairly clean and quiet. The rooms could use some updating, but they are not terrible. There is a valet service which is nice and I have to say that my interaction with the property manager and valet was very positive. They need to take down the old website and strictly market this property as rental condos. If you are OK with that then you will be happy staying here. Unfortunately I booked under false pretenses. Make no mistake. This is not a resort and you are basically on your own while staying here.

This is not the JW Marriott nor a resort and the prices should give you that hint. However, our unit was updated, quiet, spotless, spacious, had a kitchen, a gulf-facing balcony, and pool. In addition we had towels, beach chair/umbrella service, and valet included with our room. The beach walk was short and there is a bar/grill on the way. We typically travel with our own amenities like shampoo and q-tips, so the fact that these items weren’t in the unit was no big deal to us. The kitchen had a full range, microwave, and fridge. If you want the JW Marriott experience, it is under a 5 minute walk away and you can use their spa services, restaurants, coffee shops without having to pay $1200 per night to stay there. We walked over in the morning for coffee. Booking here is a bit tricky, but after talking with the woman at the front desk, I understand it more. It seems that some of the units booked via AirBnB and VBRO are individually owned and therefore your unit may not be as updated as the others. In addition you may have to pay extra for the chair/umbrella and valet services. I believe some rooms booked via third party do not even offer the chair/umbrella service at all and those rooms have chairs available inside the room for you to take down. Maid service is also not included, but that was fine with us. If you book via the Marco Beach Ocean Suites website directly, there is likelihood you will get a “Tom” room, which is updated and comes with the amenities listed above. You really need to call and ask directed questions to know what unit you’re renting.

This was the worst ‘resort’ I have ever booked. The staff was rude, the website is full of false advertising, suggesting this is a ‘5 star’ hotel experience. We left within three hours of arriving. Bottled water and basic amenities are not available at this hotel…the staff will let you know that you can walk to a gas station ‘nearby’ if you need anything. I have small children and booked this hotel at over $800 a night and didn’t get the service that is available at motel 6 or holiday inn. It was stressful and disappointing and the hotel refused to acknowledge the complaint and voluntarily refund so we have disputed this with the credit card company. I previously stayed at Marco Beach Ocean Resort when it was managed by a different company and the experience was so much better. If I could leave a zero star review I would. There were coffe grounds in the machine, an old beach bag, half a box of q tips and the bathtub wouldn’t drain so the hotel sent the valet guy to ‘help.’ This was the worst hotel experience. Skip this place and book the JW Marriott or the Hilton. Much better values and offer an actual resort experience. I only wish I had taken more pics of this neglected property!

The location is perfect. I liked the gym a lot and the beach chairs and umbrellas. The access to restaurants can’t be beat. The room was really clean. It would be nice to have a smart tv. When had cable but the guide didn’t function and there was very limited channels. Given Marco closes down so early in the evenings it would be nice to be able to watch movies.

The room was nice but no maid service at all. The bathroom was top notch. Full kitchen with small refrigerator. Balcony with a great view. Beach was awesome with towels and chairs included. Pool was nice. Location was convenient. Bed was terrible or horrible. Valet guys were nice. It’s not a hotel. Instacart worked great for groceries. Nice restaurants within walking distance.

This is definately NOT the same resort I stayed in 8 years ago. I booked through VRBO because the resort web site was “ sold out.” Upon arriving, it seems that there are several classes of guests, and we were apparently bottom rung: we could not use the beach chairs or towels ( had to schlepp the ones in the room.) Asked for Kleenex and to have burned out light bulbs to be replaced: neither request was honored. The room was clean and adequately furnished otherwise, but the common areas are definately in need of attention. At least a third of outdoor pathway lights not working. Not even sure how to access the fitness center. Although the location is superb, not sure if I will return.

Yes we did stay in one of Tom’s units on the 11th floor but we were totally satisfied with our accommodation, view, cleanliness, amenities. It was walking distance to many good restaurants. Sale and Pepa restaurant was excellent but very expensive and certainly not affordable to all but most of the other restaurants were in the same ballpark of pricing but we only had one disappointing meal and that was a Thanksgiving buffet somewhere else. I would return to this condo.

Marco Beach Resort misrepresents itself as a “hotel” or “resort”. It does not have the traditional amenities of either. The building has been converted to condos. When you arrive there is merely someone at a desk in the lobby who hands you a key to the unit you booked. There isn’t a fully operational restaurant, and no room service. A separately owned and operated restaurant is located on the premises but serves dinner only. There is a beach bar but it is only open 11am to 5pm and serves only lunch and does not provide beach service. While the beach view rooms are very nice there is an additional charge of $20 day to have a service change your bedding and clean your room. The room had no house phone. The use of the beach facilities are split into two sections, with half the beach front operated by a separate private club and the other half available to Marco Beach guests. There are no beach amenities others than a chair and umbrella. We use to stay at the Marco Beach Resort in years past when it was a beautiful hotel. It was a sad and shocking experience to find it is no longer what it use to be.

This was our third trip to Marco Beach Ocean Suites. The rooms are detailed nicely and they had everything we needed for our vacation. The view from the 12th floor balcony is something special. The pool area is well kept and there was plenty of seating. The chairs and umbrella at the beach were great and we loved the front row seating. I heard some people complain that the Tarpon Club member (behind us) got delivery service to their beach chairs. If we wanted something, we'd have walked the 50 yards to the little bar and ordered it - it's just not a big deal! The only piece of feedback I'd give it to have the attendants at the beach pay a little more attention to ensure only the Suites' guests use the chairs and umbrellas. Some real characters jumped in with other family that were actually staying at the suites - they were more concerned about how much booze they could consume. We eneded up leaving and enjoying the last day from our
