The room was ok, nice pool view. My main issue was I could not be there for the first few days due to a flight being cancelled. I contacted them numerous times and they kept saying a manager would call me back to take care of the situation since I was out almost $1k. That never happened and so I will not be staying there again, so just be aware about any possible changes to your trip there, good luck if that is the case. Parking is also tricky in their tight garage.
This hotel is beautiful. The service was amazing, everyone was very friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The location is great, it's just across the street from John's Pass that offers tons of things to do, and places to eat. The beach front is perfect with great amenities. The pool and hottub were relaxing. The rooftop has amazing views. And of course the room was amazing, with beautiful modern renovations and very clean. The 2 bed / 2 bath suite with kitchen is HUGE. The balconey view from the room was amazing. They even have wrist bands to wear as your room key all day at the beach so you don't have to worry about putting a key in your pocket and losing it. Can't wait to stay there again. Look no further than Barefoot Beach Club!
Amazing experience. Staff is top notch and goes above and beyond. Won’t find a better location or view! Highly recommend and will definitely be back. Rooms are fantastic and newly renovated. Private Cabanas are great to have all day. Too bad you can’t rate more than 5 stars.
Stayed here over spring break in the partial ocean view twin room. Very nice accomadations and very clean. As others mentioned there really is no housekeeping but they will give you what you need each morning when you fill out the request card and leave it outside the door. The kitchen and washer/dryer combo is great! So nice to be able to keep up on laundry during ones stay, and the A/C works awesome. The pools are very nice with ample seating, but on many days you might want to stake a spot out early as most folks did. Very nice and clean beach, in fact the beach zamboni and leveling tractor go by each morning. Great beach for kids, and there are several showers back by the break wall so you can wash that lovely sugar sand off before heading anywhere else. Only complaint I had and heard others mention was there is only one elevator for the east building(street side), so certain times of the day it's busy. John's Pass is a short five minutes walk and really fun with a lot of things to do if you are into water stuff. The partial ocean view is actually very good, so not sure I would pay extra for full ocean view when one can view it all from the open air roof deck, another really neat feature that few resorts around the area have. The best part was there were no Karens running around in face masks.…
We stayed here during spring break 2022. Very quiet resort. Mostly families or couples. No housekeeping but they swap out towels and replenish items you may need. The access to beach is nice and you can rent a cabana through Beach Service West for $35 a day. Easy walk to food at Johns Pass. The pool is heated too. We enjoyed our stay and will return.
Loved our beachfront view, pool and hot tub were great, absolutely gorgeous roof deck with tons of seating and views of beach and harbor. My only criticism is that there are only beach cabanas for rent, no cheaper beach chair option. They were $35 per day, and they seemed to all be booked. Maybe if we had tried to rent one, the fellow running them would have brought more; I don’t know. We just went with blankets. With the pool, and so much to do in St Petersburg downtown, it wasn’t a big deal.
This was a very nice hotel on the beach. We had a view of the pool and partial view of the ocean. Awesome customer service and clean room. The bed was very comfortable. It could use an additional mirror outside the bathroom for others to use while the bathroom is occupied. The only downside is the walls are thin! Almost every night (and morning) I could hear the couple next door gettin' it on! Hey, good for them but I don't wanna hear it, haha!
We have stayed here several times. We have always stayed in the older side. The view is amazing. The pool area is great. The grill area is wonderful. I do wish they would upgrade the really small coffee pots. The only reason I did not give a wonderful review is we have stayed several times and they fo not offer discounts to repeat guests. I have called and asked everytime. I have already scheduled to return feb 9. I again called to see if we could get a discount for returning. I was told yo use travel websites for discounts.
Amazing place and location . The staff were fantastic too. The room was big and had a pool and sea view . Would 100% recommend and return .we just had such a great time ! The beach was lovely and the bars and restaurants in walking distance. Great for couples and families
We actually visited in January of 2020. So my wife and I had stayed there for one night. We were headed to Orlando for the day which is obviously a pretty substantial drive. Decided to have everything packed up because we had an early flight out of Tampa the next morning. Drove all the way back from Orlando and arrived at about 12:30 at night. Walked up to the room and the key didn't work. At this point I called the hotel and told them that we weren't able to get into our room. They stated that because our bags weren't in our room but they had determined that we had left even though we had paid for the evening. I said wait a minute it really doesn't matter whether my bags are in the room or not I have paid for the evening and at the bare minimum someone should have called me to confirm whether we were checking out or not. We hadn't turned in our room keys. At this point the manager lied to me and said that they had tried to contact us. I said dude I had my phone on me all day. No one from barefoot attempted to contact me. So he backed off that scenario and then told me that it was just weird that we had packed everything up. My response was that it could be as weird as it wanted to be but at the end of the day I had already paid for the room and again at the very minimum someone should have contacted me to confirm whether we were checking out. He continued to become more and more aggressive in his defense of how they had handled the situation. I told him listen I'm not trying to argue with you I really don't care what your perspective is it's 12:30 at night my wife and I are extremely exhausted we have to catch an early flight tomorrow. Getet us a room. By this point I wasn't being polite but being antagonized by a manager who was more concerned about expressing my fault in the situation then getting us taken care of on a room that we had paid for. He told me "fine I'll refund you your money and you can go find somewhere else to stay.". Mind you it's at this point 12:45 in the morning in Madeira beach. There wasn't a hotel anywhere close to us that had staff nor were there any available rooms. So I had to drive all the way back to Tampa completely exhausted and pay for a room. As you might imagine I was very frustrated by the time we finally laid down at the new hotel. So I wrote a scathing review. When I called the hotel to make sure that our refund was going through they refused to finalize the refund unless I removed my negative review which told the complete truth about what our experience had been. As the room was booked on a corporate credit card I didn't feel like I had the ability to stand on principal since it wasn't my money. So I removed the negative review. To summarize the rooms were nice. The location was fantastic and management was completely and utterly unprofessional to the point of holding the money that they owed me for a room that I had already paid for unless I removed a negative review.…
