First time renters looking to purchase. Worst experience we've had at anyplace we've stayed. Would Not recumbent this place unless it's $50. a night and and nothing else available. The place was dirty, and some of the people rude, and loud. Some silly rules were enforced while other rules ignored.
We love the Commodore. The area is a great vacation spot. The units are fairly dated, however that does not bother us. The beach view on the golf front units makes up for everything else. The pool is warm. It is a smaller resort which we prefer. John’s Pass is very close with a lot of shops and restaurants. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. King bed very comfortable.
The unit I had was a 1 bed gulf view 4th floor which offered a fantastic view of the beach and the ocean. The unit was very clean and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. Madeira beach is quieter than some others in this area which I preferred. But you need to take you own chair .
We rented a week from the CBC association and were told to vacate at 6 AM Tuesday morning due to hurricane Ian. I understand the need to vacate but did expect some reimbursement from the association as we are not owners and paid for 7 days only getting to stay 3. There was profit made as the owner pays by the week and the maintenance fees are covered by the owner. Be hesitant to rent during the summer as a storm may force you out into a hotel which will double your lodging expenses for the week. Renters beware.
This was not a very nice place to stay. The resort staff was unhelpfu. I asked for a recommendation for a place for lunch, and was answered with I don't eat on the beach. I asked again thinking my question was mis-understood. No I got the same reply. The rooms are extremely small. The bathroom is off the living room. If you get up during the night, it is not convenient. If someone is sleeping in the living room of the one bedroom, the bed is blocking the entrance to the bathroom. Common areas are not clean. A bin of dirty towels sat in front of the office for many days. The only redeeming quality of this resort is that it is on the beach.
We tend to go to places based on their location as opposed to looking for a "resort experience." We also like small older places than hi-rise resorts. That said, the Commodore has an excellent location, right on the beach and walking distance to some ok restaurants and John's Pass. It is an old motel converted to a timeshare. The unit was small but clean, everything worked (including heat and AC both of which we needed)and the bed is comfortable. Unlike many other resorts, complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas were not available. I gave the Commodore 4 stars based on location which it is very good making it a good base of operations.
The resort is rather old but has been upgraded nicely. May be the cleanest place we have stayed in a long time. Unit was very clean and well maintained. Right on the beach and a short distance from John's Pass.
Location was great…Beach was beautiful! Close proximity to John’s Pass and able to explore Treasure Island and St Pete areas. Upon arrival we found the bathroom floor had hair and during our visit we found three cockroaches at different times. Front desk offered to have the room fumigated by pest control the next day but because of recent chemotherapy rejected due to chemicals. Our room overlooked the doors to the elevator. If our shades were open we could wave to people as they got on and off. So much for a poolside view. The fact that I gave up a two bedroom two bath unit for this unit doesn’t sit well. The living room was extremely small and the sofa was very uncomfortable no additional chairs available other than the kitchen table chairs. The TV hung over the kitchen table. Personally, I wouldn’t go here again even though there are other units that are larger with Views! I’d rather explore other options!…
We went down to Florida to stay there with my mother. It was a small establishment with extremely friendly staff. We were very close to the beach and the view was awesome (We were in 414). With red-tide we barely went onto the beach, but we did not have to with how close the resort was. It is very convenient to attractions. I don't think there are a lot of openings through RCI, but I will definitely go back if we can.
The beach is wonderful here. Much more enjoyable if you have a gulf-front unit, but you can't select that at reservation. Call RCI to try and get it changed, but it is unlikely. Very well stocked, though the one-BR are tiny. Pool area is very loud until late at night, people laughing and playing.
