Detailed Reviews
We tend to go to places based on their location as opposed to looking for a "resort experience." We also like small older places than hi-rise resorts. That said, the Commodore has an excellent location, right on the beach and walking distance to some ok restaurants and John's Pass. It is an old motel converted to a timeshare. The unit was small but clean, everything worked (including heat and AC both of which we needed)and the bed is comfortable. Unlike many other resorts, complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas were not available. I gave the Commodore 4 stars based on location which it is very good making it a good base of operations.

This resort is a motel property. It is maintained well with clean pool and hot tub. They have no activities, no game room, just a place to spend the night. The staff was friendly but not very helpful in early check in to your room or upgrades to your room. The sofa sleeper needed a new mattress and was very hard to close in the morning to maximize your space. King size bed took up the whole room with little room to walk on either side. One closet in there not enough space to fit clothes to hang up. No window in the bedroom. No balcony to set and see the beautiful sun set. Had no extra towel service, or maid service available. You had to wash your own during the week. No beach chairs on the beach, and the rentals that were made available, the owner was not the nicest to just sit on his loungers before 9 AM. People have rented this lounger so you need to leave, but no one was there the whole day. It was a place to spend the night, and that is about it. Small parking and very tight to get into and around the cars at the motel. For the trading power that I had to use to get this unit. It was very disappointing.

This unit although clean was small and dated. Our unit was a one bedroom but it was more like a motel room with small sitting area. The location of the unit we had was dark and noisy beside the entrance to pool. There are bigger units I believe in the connected building that people seemed happy with.

Location was great…Beach was beautiful! Close proximity to John’s Pass and able to explore Treasure Island and St Pete areas.
Upon arrival we found the bathroom floor had hair and during our visit we found three cockroaches at different times. Front desk offered to have the room fumigated by pest control the next day but because of recent chemotherapy rejected due to chemicals. Our room overlooked the doors to the elevator. If our shades were open we could wave to people as they got on and off. So much for a poolside view. The fact that I gave up a two bedroom two bath unit for this unit doesn’t sit well. The living room was extremely small and the sofa was very uncomfortable no additional chairs available other than the kitchen table chairs. The TV hung over the kitchen table. Personally, I wouldn’t go here again even though there are other units that are larger with Views! I’d rather explore other options!

This was not a very nice place to stay. The resort staff was unhelpfu. I asked for a recommendation for a place for lunch, and was answered with I don't eat on the beach. I asked again thinking my question was mis-understood. No I got the same reply. The rooms are extremely small. The bathroom is off the living room. If you get up during the night, it is not convenient. If someone is sleeping in the living room of the one bedroom, the bed is blocking the entrance to the bathroom. Common areas are not clean. A bin of dirty towels sat in front of the office for many days. The only redeeming quality of this resort is that it is on the beach.

We rented a week from the CBC association and were told to vacate at 6 AM Tuesday morning due to hurricane Ian. I understand the need to vacate but did expect some reimbursement from the association as we are not owners and paid for 7 days only getting to stay 3. There was profit made as the owner pays by the week and the maintenance fees are covered by the owner. Be hesitant to rent during the summer as a storm may force you out into a hotel which will double your lodging expenses for the week. Renters beware.

The beach is wonderful here. Much more enjoyable if you have a gulf-front unit, but you can't select that at reservation. Call RCI to try and get it changed, but it is unlikely. Very well stocked, though the one-BR are tiny. Pool area is very loud until late at night, people laughing and playing.

Unit has living room, bedroom, kitchen and bath room but no extra space. Limited counter space in kitchen, no counter space in bath room, small closet in bed room. Older property, some updates made. Unit was very clean and staff friendly and helpful.

Resort small. Room comfortable but very small. The tile floor was dirty, so I could not walk in bare feet as I am used to doing. Bed was a king size with tons of room for me and my wife for sleeping. Pool clean as we swam in the morning before the croud took over. DW broke down the 2nd day. Reported to the front office and it was repaired and running within 36 hours. Draw back!! The same people reserved the 8 tables and loungers at the pool side by 8:30 am and did not leave till 10pm, closing time. The BBQ were fairly new, however, nobody cleaned them or the utensils after use. Therefore I did not use them. Ten minute walk to John's Pass.

The unit I had was a 1 bed gulf view 4th floor which offered a fantastic view of the beach and the ocean.
The unit was very clean and spacious with a fully equipped kitchen. Madeira beach is quieter than some others in this area which I preferred. But you need to take you own chair .

You could easily do it without a car. The publix across the causeway would be a bit of a hike but you could easily uber it. There is also a Walmart a bit farther and a Target across the next bridge both again an easy uber ride. There also tons of restaurants nearby!!
When we were there a week ago there were tons of chairs left from the previous vacationers. Even bogie boards. They have a big bin by the entrance to the beach. Beach towels are also provided. Enjoy!
We were in room 209, which is a studio poolside and Room 210 was an end unit poolside but facing the Gulf, so Room 310 may be just a floor above that, but I'm not 100% sure. I think they have a floor plan of the complex on its website that may be helpful.
1st if 4 of you are staying in a 1 bedroom it will be very tight. My wife and I had 1 and it was real small , even for just us 2. Yes they have all the things you want but there were a lot of little kids there when we went, so just saying. Nice place though just much to tight for 4 in a 1 bedroom I think
