I don't understand that this place is still running. I booked this place after reading some good reviews, well, let me tell you, all those people that said it was nice, I WOULD NOT GO HAVE DINNER AT YOUR PLACE. I checked in and didn't even stay 2 minutes in there. I ran out to find another place to stay. We got room #5 which was like a crackhead joint. Musty, smelly.......stain on sheets.... Luckily, my friends were at the Sea Spray and Josee was nice enough to accommodate us even though we didn't have a reservation. Anyways, if you are really disperate, go there, but trust me, a few $$ more a night will bring you a long way. This place shouldn't be open for business.

Place was filthy. Paint peeling off the tub, shower dripped all night, broken blinds laying on the floor. Refrigerator rusty. Pool closed. The grounds had construction material all around. No compensation offered. Possibly the worst motel I have ever stayed in.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for three nights and it was great for what we paid. The rooms are all different and it's an old motel that your grandparents may have stayed in and loved. In fact, they may still be staying there as it seemed that most of the place was 1-3 mo snowbirds and long term beach bums who come every year. It's not a hotel. It's not really a motel. I don't even know if they have daily room service bc of the snowbirds, but I'm sure they do if you ask. And the housekeeping staff were super friendly and even asked us if we'd like anything. But we had an entire apartment (full fridge, stove, sink, high top table and full living room and bedroom and walk in closet w ironing board) with all amenities and a pool directly across the street from the beach and in the center of Lauderdale by the sea for a better price than the other motels nearby or blocks from the center of town. Also it's really chill and the host, Vivianne, is extremely kind and accommodating. I'm someone who normally stays at a 4 star hotel or a 3.5 at worst, but I prepared myself knowing I was staying in a Florida motel (also, as a former Floridian I know that a FEW bugs come with motels due to the doors opening to the outside and it being Florida... if you don't get that you need to stay at a hotel with only elevator access to rooms and on the upper floors) for half the cost but also directly across from the beach. BUT this place had what those didn't: friendly, caring staff (I even saw Vivianne literally sprint to get vinegar when a guests dog stepped on a jellyfish) , location steps from beach, nice guests, a chill beach atmosphere, oh and a place to sit outside each room! And the staff cleans the rooms well, the linens smell very clean, it's just a place that's been around a while. The only updates they really need are to the bathroom and windows, and the housekeeping staff could pay more attention to the furniture upkeep. But overall it is what it is- a well loved motel by the beach with the kindest staff and guests you'll ever find. Anyway, I'd call this place a "beach bungalow" and it would be perfect if you are staying a bit and would like to have a full kitchen and if you have a dog, or just like staying somewhere where the people are friendly and caring. <3

The doors opened with great smiles and exuberant behavior by Anne Marie at the front desk when we arrived. She knew our name and was ready to accommodate us as quick as possible. She made sure that our room setup fit our desire and briefly made us feel welcomed with open arms. The room was pretty spacious and had everything that we would need if we decided to come back and stay a few days. The room had up to date TV's and multiple accounts units thorough out the area to provide equal or controlled air flow without having any complications. The bathroom was vintage and would be my only suggestion besides the shades when it came to any type of improvement.

There are few locations better than this one: it is literally one block from the center of town, one block from the ocean/beach. Everything you want is within walking distance, namely, restaurants, shopping and services. The staff (Ann Marie, Vivian and Joe) is so friendly and accommodating. Truth be told, the place is tired and very eclectic in its decoration and could use some updating. But as the realty people say: location, location, location. We didn't have a car so the ability to walk was especially appreciated. When needed, we had Lyft and Uber at our fingertips. This was the first time in LBTS and I am definitely going back. It has everything.
