Detailed Reviews
This is a very nice RV park and we had a great view of the lake. Since we were on a temporary stay our site was not the most beautiful spot. While we had a great view of the lake, the ground was soft and not level. This is a community of folks who stay on a regular basis so many of the spots are cemented and have a nice lawn. Our spot was not groomed but did have a cement pad for a patio. We have 4 steps for our 5th wheel and the last step would not go down due to the patio being higher than our steps. This park also has a lot of trees which offer shade but the leaves are constantly falling so many folks had leaf blowers to get the leaves off their slides. This park has a very nice swimming pool and has an extensive library where you can borrow a book. The only Wi-fi is around the pool and there is no cable. I believe you can rent a satellite but not sure about that.
While we enjoyed our 2 week stay I have to say that we agreed that there is a lot of annoying noise!
There are a lot of activities at the club house and coffee each morning. People are friendly and I believe there was some talk while we were there that soon this park will do away with the 17 temp spots so that it will become a "residents" only RV park. The residents are concerned about temporary folks having a lot of trash around their RV's.

There are some really great features of this RV Park and their are some really bad features. First, the good..... the front entrance is beautiful! The landscaping around the office is gorgeous and gives a very nice impression of the park. The lady that assisted us when we arrived was friendly. The bath house is immaculate. There is a nice pool, tennis court, game room and small work out room. The Park is shady for the most part, which comes in handy if you are visiting during the hot summer months. The small lake is very pretty. Those are the good things about this park. As for the bad, well really bad things about this park...... I booked months in advance and booked a lakeside site. Two weeks before our trip I received a voice mail that informed me that I wouldn’t be able to have the lakeside site I booked, because there was a problem with that site and that they moved us to another site in the park. Well, I had read a review before I booked with Lakesidw RV resort and the customer was complaining. It seems that the the same scenario happened to them. They booked a lakeside site, was told there was a problem with the site and moved way back in the back next to the storage and dumpster, a lousy site. Well, I booked anyway and figured that the same thing surly wouldn’t happen to me! Yep, it did! They moved us back in the back next to the storage and dumpster area. The site was in the mud, the concrete pad was all broken up and we were right next to I-4. There was no cable or WiFi back there either. The thing is, there was lots of nice sites empty the whole time we were there. Why couldn’t they have given us one of those sites instead of the dumpy site we got? I’m thinking this must be their MO. You can book a lakeside, but your not going to get it......beware! Also, this park seems to be mostly for permanent residence or for those that buy a site to have for the RV when they want to camp. There was only a hand full of lakeside sites. Two of them were empty the whole time we were there and the others looked like they had full time rv’s on them. I’m just saying, there are good things about this park and there are bad things. You decide what’s important to you before you book.

Spent two nights here in early March 2015. The park is OK. I would not want to spend more than a couple of nights here. The pool area looked nice -- the laundry room was great! Very clean. Unfortunately, our site was not great -- pretty severely sloped and backed up to the highway. The highway noise was very loud -- even in our RV with the air conditioning on, we could still hear it. Maybe you get used to it if you're here for a longer period of time. FYI, the sites that back to the highway are 15-45. If you're booking here, try not to be on this row if possible.

A welcoming "home away from home.
We recently needed a place to put our travel trailer for our daughter to stay in. After several unsatisfactory calls to several parks, we called Lakeland RV Resort in Lakeland, Florida. What a wonderful experience. Derrick and Linda were welcoming, helpful and got her into a beautiful and peaceful site. This was an emergency situation and they went beyond the call of duty to help us. We thank them and if you want an excellent and welcoming RV Resort, you will be very happy here.

The employee was helpful & nice while making reservations. We don’t book campgrounds that don’t have cable. Campground indicated it had cable access. Failed to state you have to be an extended stay camper to get it. We where put in site #6. It was squeezed in between 2 long term sites. Backed right up to busy highway. Also right next to I4 so needless to say very noisy. The neighbor on 1 side’s site was trashy. The neighbor on the other side was a live on site home. They had 2 cars & a golf car which they parked in our site’s guest spot so our visitors had no place to park. We walked around the campground & saw many open - larger sites that would have been much nicer to stay in!! Nice campground but we won’t be back.

Got there had no paperwork or instructions on where to go and the office was closed all day Had to change campsites the next day. No heated pool, there is a nice pool but it was very cold. No basketball courts, No store, No restaurant, No playground, just not what they advertise at all. It was a clean nice neighborhood for seniors.. They put any weekly rentals out by the dumpster and highway, very noisy and emptying the dumpster in the wee AM hours, people in the campground walking and driving to the dumpster all day and night.

Camper Beware! Here is our story: My husband and I booked a 3-day stay at this resort. They have many full-timers, so put us in a spot in the back near the expressway and dumpster. Someone had dumped an ashtray's full of cigarette butts on our site and no one had cleaned it up and there was a slow-moving 'creek' behind our site that was a mosquito breeding ground. Our first night was uneventful. On the second evening (New Year's Eve), at around 9:30 pm, someone pounded on our door to say that the RV next to us was on fire. We opened the door to see flames shooting from the roof of the RV. We grabbed the hose and began hosing it down while others took off the propane and turned off the electricity and waited to the fire department to come (hoping throughout this that no people or pets were in the RV and that our RV wouldn't suffer any damage). It was fully 90 minutes before the fire department had the fire out and we were allowed to get back into our RV. Now, these things happen and we were thankful that no one was injured...but the follow up to the fire is what we have a complaint about. Once the fire was out, the fire inspector came and was there until around 1 am. Then the gawking started. There was a big hole in the side of the RV that faced our site. It was a smelly eyesore. This is a large park and news got around about the fire, so of course, everyone had to see it. No one had any issues with pulling right up onto our site, standing in groups outside our door and gabbing. All night long and for the next day. Our dogs, of course, were going crazy. No sleep that night. The next day, I found one of the park managers who told me that his plan was to play golf until 4 pm, but that he would move the trailer to a storage location if the owner didn't. He also told me that the RV belonged to the grandparents of a 'troublemaker' in the park. (And this is the site that the rented to us!) Clearly, it was not his priority to make his paying customers happy. He did not offer to move us to one of the other vacant sites in the (mostly full) park. We went to a college bowl game that afternoon. When we returned, we found the trailer still there, no running water in our area of the park, and the gawkers still coming, even in the dark! Enough is enough. We packed up and drove to a Walmart on the way home--And slept much better than we had slept at the Carefree RV park!
It was the WORST experience I have ever had at an RV park. Do not stay at this park.

Hi Ruste, thanks for taking the time to share about your most recent stay at Lakeland RV Resort. I spoke with the park manager, Jim, this morning and we really want to remedy this situation. He has since refunded your entire stay and you should see the amount back on your credit card in a few business days depending on who you bank with. As the park was full, we were not able to move you to a different site which would have been done immediately and we are truly sorry for the inconvenience the damaged trailer caused during your stay. The Fire Marshal gave the team at the park strict instructions to not move or touch the trailer until their investigation was complete. The Fire Marshal gave the go ahead and the trailer was moved Saturday afternoon. I'm sure you can understand that some incidents are unforeseen and in this particular instance we had strict legal instructions to follow. We are truly sorry that this stay was not satisfactory and you had to leave early. We hope you will give Carefree another chance and stay with us again soon! You are more than welcome to give me a call at 480-423-5700 x 1600 Sincerely, Caitlin Fine

We were in one of there new rental unit. It is a 5th wheel time mobile unit. It still had that new smell just like when you are buying a car. It had everything you need. Queen size bed with bedding. Pillows, linens, towels, were provided. There is a huge fridge, small propane stove, coffee machine, toaster. There is a pull out couch if you have extra guest. There are two types of rental. One or two bedroom units. Unfortunately at present time there is one 3 One bedroom unit but was told that there were looking at purchasing more one bedroom unit. It is a gated community so when you first check in on arrival you have to walk from the parking to the main office. It is just a few steps. There is a swimming pool which we extensively used. There is a gym with walking machine, running machine. Limited weights. There is also a horseshoe pit. Tennis court and pool room. Grocery store is a 5 min drive or a 15 min walk. Tampa International Outlet is a 40 Min drive up the I4 and I75. There is also Brandon outlet. I strongly suggest that you go visit Total Wine Store in Brandon on Causeway Dr. 2500 types of beers, wine galore, liquor, alcohol and then some more. One cannot go to Brandon without visiting the Cheesecake Factory. Name says it all. You do require a vehicle to get around. There are also serviced lot for RVs. The best is the Great staff. Extremely helpful and will answer any and all questions.

Think it maybe 1200-1300 monthly. We did not stay a month. They can tell you their rates.
Yes you can. The park has permanent residents and Monthly/weekend spaces
Office is only open for a few hours each day. I think you may show up any time. They had an envelope in the box with our lot number.
