Stayed at the Lodge for a couple days in the 2 bedroom deluxe. The unit was very clean and spacious. The unit had 2 king sized beds which is a rare find. Each bedroom had their own P-Tac unit (ac/heat)which is awesome and their own TV. The grounds are exceptionally maintained and a nice fire pit is kept going for the recent cold days and nights. The staff is beyond helpful and friendly. Matt even offered to get me and my friend lunch so we could fish longer. The boat ramp is convenient and well maintained as well as the docks which have electric for charging your batteries overnight. Would definitely stay again.

I recently visited Idlewild for a ride on the fan boat and had a blast! I've been on a few of these before in other areas and this was by far the very best. Apparently, the whole park has gone under heavy renovation and we just had perfect timing with our visit. The ride itself was nearly two hours, very informative with regards to the preserve and its creatures within, and expert driving by our captain. My kids (14 and 11) had an incredible time and felt comfortable asking questions.

Afterwards, we decided to stick around for a picture with their resident baby gator who will remain cared for until the end of his days. The shopkeeper was kind and helpful and made us feel right at home and encouraged questions. The permanent food truck was most impressive with homemade just about everything....and it was so delicious that we returned again and again to order more menu items to try. The chicken fingers, batter and dips are all house made!

This place is going to become very popular in the future for group events and gatherings so I'm grateful to be an early adopter. Totally recommend for any visitors to the Orlando area. I will certainly go back again.

We visited Idlewild in March 2023. We stayed in Lodge One. The site, accommodation and staff were amazing. The site itself is stunning, well maintained with fantastic views. The communal camp fires are always lit and welcoming with your own fire and bbq should you wish. The staff couldn’t have done anything else for us, they went above and beyond to make us feel welcome (Thank you Shaun, Vaughn and Matt), nothing was ever to much trouble.

We also hired a boat which was brilliant, and met a friendly community of RV guests and lodge guests.

We stayed here and managed to get to Universal, Kennedy Space Center, Fort Cooper State Park, Tampa and Floral City - a great quiet base for exploring Florida.

Thank you Idlewild!

Spent a night in October with my grandma at Idlewild, and it was wonderful! The space is recently renovated and very well-kept on a gorgeous property on Lake Panasoffkee. You get to see a different side of Florida. Some of the highlights included going on a swamp boat tour (right on site), sitting at the campfire, and touring Idlewild. The staff were very pleasant and went above and beyond for my grandma and I. We hope to return soon!

We had a wonderful experience at Idlewild - the facilities were very clean and staff was extremely attentive. This is definitely a 'pup friendly' lodge, so bring your 4 legged friend!

They were smoking brisket all day and serving it out of the food truck, along with the yummy truffle fries.

There is no risk staying here - excellent service, great views, and just a very relaxing time.

Room Tip: Leave the food at home - the onsite food truck is excellent and at a very reasonable price.

Ok I dont even know where to begin. This place is like a dream! I'm a single mother and I just stayed a night there with my son. It says alot about a place when you already have a place to stay, however your soul pulls you here and says "stay, stay!" That is exactly what happened and I dont regret it one bit. Shawn is an incredible guy. He is the owner. He went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. You can swim in the pool, he lights a fire at night, there are a ton of games and hey free beer between certain hours. This is the place you dream of as a kid. Its truly a magical place right out of the picture books. Its Heaven on earth. It is truly Heaven on earth. The price is spot on for what you get, very reasonable, not overpriced at all! If you stay here, take care of this place. Its a hidden gem and we all have to take part in preserving its beauty. The cabins are incredible. I felt every teeny bit of stress leaving my body while here and boy did this single Mom need it! I traveled for a living during much of my life and this is definitely top 3 on the list, if not number one. Oh how I wish we could go back. Definitely next year. Who needs spas when you can have all this. Thank you Shawn. You have created magic here.

Hospitality galore! We called last minute on our way through town and they were happy to accommodate us. We were showing up late and Matt came out and started a fire for us and made us feel very welcomed. He guided us in with lights and then stayed to chat for a while around the fire. We mentioned that we wanted to take an air boat ride and he said he would call to see if they could get us in. Sure enough, the next morning he sent us a text that they had one more spot open for the day! The food at the food truck was delicious! As we were leaving the sign said pulled pork at noon, we were disappointed as we were going to miss it. Vaughn heard us talking about it and whipped up some sandwiches for us to take on the road… on the house! So generous and so delicious!
Free laundry on site, free ice, really nice showers. They showed us the inside of the newly renovated cabins which were gorgeous! There is nothing negative I can say about this place! We will be back in the spring for sure. Can’t wait to see you guys again.

Without a doubt, this park is the best we’ve seen. The staff and amenities are excellent. Free firewood and Ice. On site air boat rides, boat rentals, food truck. Huge herb garden. Beautiful lake with lots of bass. Matt is a charming and welcoming host. So glad we decided to stay here for two weeks. We will be back hopefully for at least a month. We have already started recommending Idlewilde to our rv friends.
