It actually pains me to write this review because we've stayed at this hotel a few different times and had good experiences. The price is so cheap that it's almost concerning, but one day we just decided that with the reviews being so overwhelming positive (at the time) we would bite the bullet and try the hotel that was like 1/3 the price of what we normally paid for an Orlando hotel. We got lucky and have been back a few times since. In the past we've found the room to be clean. Is it dated? Sure. Is it five star service? No. Is breakfast amazing? No... but it's a Rodeway Inn and it's $40. We always just chalked up the low reviews to people with unrealistic expectations for a $40 room. That said, our last visit was awful and lasted MAYBE 10 minutes. We walked in, put our things down, my significant other entered the shower, everything seemed fine but five minutes later I heard her scream. We've been together for about 15 years and she's never once screamed over a spider / bug whatever. There's a first time for everything. She immediately ran out and pointed to the largest roach that I've ever seen in my life. We initially decided to leave and ask to switch to another building (it was late, and we knew that some of them had always been fine) so I picked up my bag off of the floor and another giant roach immediately scurried out from under it. I killed it, put it in a cup and brought it down to the lobby ready to argue if they didn't offer a refund. Thankfully I didn't have to, the man working at the desk was very accomodating, though also acted completely unsurprised by our experience or the giant roach we brought down. Look, it's a Rodeway inn. We know it's a budget motel. You also may have a fine experience here. There are four detached buildings and some of them are fine but others are totally roach-infested. is it worth taking the risk? That's up to you... for us, absolutely not. We'll never be back. We're Choice Privileges members but I'd happily just dish out over twice as much money for a clean room at a nearby Comfort Inn or something. Never again...…
I don’t mind a budget hotel. I don’t expect five star service when I’m not paying five star rates. This property had horrible service. Breakfast was cancelled due to Covid but it was obviously a property choice as we didn’t have this problem elsewhere. The door to our room did not close properly and had a large gap. The paint in the room was cracked at many corners. The bathroom walls had quite visible mold spots. The shower felt as though the bottom would fall out as it clearly was not installed properly. Everything else was sold out so we had no other choice. If you can choose, don’t stay here.
The only thing that made our stay nice was the lady working at the front desk on night shift i wish i knew her name! Short and brown curly hair, super funny and a good sense of humor. Now the bad…. The worst part is the manager Tim that was very very rude and disrespectful to the guests and also the engineer/security guard working on the property!! Worst worst customer service ever! The rooms were never cleaned and there was hair in the bathtub on arrival. For the price i did not expect much but the disrespect from even the manager cuts it off for me i would never ever come here again!!!!
First, my expectations from a budget Choice hotel: Clean room, clean linens, bug free and has working shower/toilet/sink This hotel failed on so many levels. I stayed in 142, which is a king "suite". What makes it a suite? The addition of a mini fridge and a microwave. That's it. The king bed was broken down on one side but since it was just me I just slept on the other side and the bed was both hard and lumpy. The first thing you notice when walking in is the overpowering smell of mildew. I mean, burn your nostrils strong. The towels, blankets, sheets and pillows were all permeated with the smell. Bathroom door didn't close. Toilet was super wobbly. Black mold on ceiling in bathroom. Water pressure actually really good. Basin of tub is really soft, like the floor is collapsing under it. Killed a German roach crawling across the chair so never bothered using the microwave or the fridge. The curtains had a bloodstain the size of a silver dollar. Bedsheets were stained on the broken down side of the bed. they charge a 6.00 resort fee per night, FYI. What a horrible stay, no sleep, bugs, not clean and my God, the smell...never again. How this is part of the Choice hotels brand I will never know. Never, never again.…
As a Choice Privileges Diamond member, I stay at properties within the Choice brand, of which Rodeway Inn is one. This Rodeway Inn is one of the better ones that I've stayed in, and I would return. Check-in was handled efficiently by a pleasant staff member. Room was large and adequately furnished, although some of the furnishings did show moderate wear and tear. Room and bathroom were both clean. Bed was comfortable, and, overall, the room was quiet. I was able to get a decent night's sleep without spending a lot of money. This is an older property, and it is not fancy. But it is functional, and if one is looking simply for a decent place to sleep, this property fills the bill. Property is convenient to restaurants and there is a RaceTrac station adjacent. Easy access to I-4, and about a 25 minute drive to the airport in normal traffic. I would stay again.…
