The maintenance guys are the best, well the workers are anyway. That's about the best I can say about this place. After that, it goes down hill fast. The front desk people "appeared" friendly, but their congeniality was as phony as the "activities program" they have. Activities? It's great if you're into water aerobics or line dancing lessons. Dont forget coffee and donuts on Friday morning but you'll have to leave "a donation". But hey if you want to volunteer your services no problem, just be prepared to get used for it. If you intend to use the internet, forget it. Office or Laundry room areas only. You have to pay for it if you want to use it at your site, and even then it drops out constantly. Same with the TV. Even if you manage to get a channel to come it, every time the tour helicopter flies over (which is constantly all day long) or a plane, which also happens all day long the TV freezes and pixelates making it pointless to try to watch. They'll tell you, you can get 60 channels. Good luck. The bath houses are so old, I'm surprised they haven't been condemned. The park itself is filled with long time seasonal people that have their own small groups. Polite when you speak, but that's about all you get. There are exceptions of course, but the overall this is the case. Finally, if you are crazy enough to stay, whatever you do, don't prepay ANYTHING. If you have any kind of emergency, they don't care. No refunds. Want to know how moronic this joint is? They willingly tossed away a full six months of rent next year ($4200) rather than apply a month ($650) worth of rent to the following year.I have to leave earlier than expected. No refunds. Period. How stupid is that? One last thing. The police choppers and foot patrol that show up and fly overhead on random nights looking for fugitives is a bit unsettling as well. This is an old, completely dead park. In the beginning I thought this was a nice park. I even considered coming back next year. After several months here, I've learned better. And the few people I've spoken to are not coming back either. If you're planning to come here, don't plan to stay long. Save yourself time, money and frustration, keep looking.…
We stopped here for a night before our Disney Fort Wilderness reservations started and for the cost I was surprised to be parking a 40 foot bus on grass/dirt. I was worried with the rain that we might get stuck but we where able to pull out the next day. It was late Jan 2019 so that might be snowbird season but surprised at the cost after looking around the park...a little rough and It appeared to have many full timers that must be getting a break in price....
My husband and I spent 3 months here (12/1/18 to 3/1/19) as part of our travels around the US. The park is a bit rough around the edges but the new owners, Sun RV Resorts, are working hard to bring it up to date. A point here too is how reasonable the price to stay is...a real deal for wintering in Florida The staff is excellent...friendly and helpful...and the park residents great folks to get to know. This isn’t a transient park to just stop for a night...there is so much going on, you’ll want to live here in the winter months as do many here who have been coming 5,10.15 years. Cards and music and workouts and trips..and a wonderful pool too. One last point is Sun RV Resorts terrific customer service...twice I have called them...for different stays....and asked THEM to help us find a park to stay in and they did!!!! These pictures illustrate more how central the park is...we made day trips to Tampa, Cocoa Beach, St Augustine and of course Disney World...to name a few.…
We are from Ohio and booked a cpl nights here, however the next day after booking we had a family emergency and unfortunately couldn’t make our trip from Ohio to Florida. There was a $40 prepayment fee taken when we booked and they wouldn’t give it back to us! I could see if it was that day we were supposed to arrive and cancelled, but it was a couple days before we were even supposed to show up! There’s NO cancellation policy on their website either. I know it’s only $40, but I’m going to have my attorney look into this as they have no policy at all for cancellations, therefore to take my money is wrong! How many ppl do they do this too?! They can’t understand emergencies come up??! To take my money is very wrong and very unethical of a business.
We stopped here as were waiting for a part for our camper couldn’t have found a better place we came as strangers and left as friends Great price excellent location 5/5 So much to do around here, great offer on the medieval tournament on their website 50% off Shingle creek bike path is only minutes bike ride away, also don’t miss the buddisht temple that is a 5 min way away,
We had a reservation for 3 nights and left after only 2! The map of the campground shows a playground but there is no one. The pool has not been clean for a while and i did not want to let my kids go in that pool. For our first night, there was 5 police cars next to the campground looking for something or someone. We heard polices like 4-5 times per night and also trucks really close to the campground, it was so hard to sleep! We also heard helicopter each 5 minutes all day long. People at the campground are kindly, but not the one at the reception. We’ll never go there again, this is not what i call a « campground ». Sorry but you should pay a little bit more and go somewhere else, like we did for our third night!
We have been coming here off & on for 3 years and have found them to be great in the past. Unfortunately, this last visit will be our last. We had been storing our RV and arrived Memorial Day Weekend to find the managment had left and the gate code not working, luckily we could get our RV out, but couldn'y get my car in to spend our reserved week here. Scrambling, since they would not re-open until Tuesday, we found a park to accomodate us 12 miles away! We left multiple messages asking for help with the situation to no avail. When we finally got through on Tuesday they did treat us right (after some negotiating) and refunded our stay, however we were so dissalusioned by their treatment that we cancelled our storage and were told we couldn't do that (we had prepayed for 6 months) Ultimately we had to call our credit card and the park did not fight the dispute. The park has a significant permanent residence presence and only 1 person acknowledged us, only because of our pups. They have added a small off-leash dog park which is a plus. The pool is nice, but small and we overheard residents bad-mouthing other folks. Each time we stayed their newsletter indicated theft was prevalent on the property. The bathhouse and laundry are in need of paint, and lighting additions. They also need a LOT more trees as mid-summer stays can expect to have their AC on 24/7. We are dissapointed this park has changed so much as it's proximity to Disney is really nice, but all these changes are just not worth it. Pay a little more and stay at the KOA one block away. …
We stayed at rv parks all over Florida most are more expensive. We stopped here a few times and the people there treated us like family we will try to stay there a lot this coming winter. Nice sites very nice pool and great events.
Stayed here for 10 days. Great visit. Park is extremely quiet. Bath house and laundromat are very clean. Will visit again! Close to everything! The personnel were very friendly and helpful. The park is well kept with more improvements coming.
This as older RV park, reasonably priced, in a convenient location. We came here by accident several years ago for a short visit. Now that we are retired we have made this our permanent "snowbird" location. We have seen changes in ownership and management. I note some of the complaints are normal problems with these types of changes. Overall the current owners are making positive, ongoing improvements to the facility with good and helpful staff (local managers, activities directors, and other staff) in place, as well as upgrades to the physical grounds and buildings (including heating the swimming pool). The Wi-Fi is spotty, and seems to defy many attempts at improvement, but these attempts continue. We would be willing to pay for cable service (TV and internet) if available, but not an important issue for us. We look forward to many more years here. (We now stay each year from October or November into April).…
