We did have to switch rooms because the bed was soooooooooo uncomfortable the second room was a lil better . If the bed was softer this would be a 5outta 5 but my back is still hurting !!!

My boyfriend and I stayed in the one in marathon island Florida and DONT DO IT!! From check in to check out it was hell. First thing we do is show up to the hotel at 4pm, which check in started at 3, and they didn’t have our room (or any rooms) ready and available. We waited 20 minutes for them to find us a room. When we finally got a room and we got to it the door was able to be pushed open, and the key reader did not work at all, on top of that one of the bedside lamps didn’t work. My boyfriend went downstairs to inform the front desk, and they told him that sometimes the key readers need to be cleaned, and they’d send maintenance up to our room. So at this point I start getting ready because we had dinner plans and we’re now running late. I started getting ready when my boyfriend and I started hearing a weird noise, which we figured out must of been maintenance cleaning the key reader. I was getting ready to change when next thing you know the maintenance man opened our door wide open with no warning whatsoever and walked into the room. If I would of been naked he would of seen me completely right then. He then says nothing and he stands in our room and opens and closes the door several times. Then he finally says the key reader needs a new battery and he would be back. At this point I called the front desk and they transferred me to the manager and I told her about the incident. She apologized and said she’d talk with him right away about the ordeal, but next thing you know he unannounced came into our room again to replace the battery in the key reader. He gets this done and then moves on to the lamp, and he says it’s completely broken and he would TRY to find us a new lamp and he would be back. At this point I am annoyed and frustrated cause here we are trying to get ready and I have people in and out of our room the entire time. The manager came to the room when the maintenance man came back with a lamp, she says she’s the one we talked to and asked the maintenance man if he fixed everything to which he says yes, but then his phone rings and the manager told him not to answer the phone more than once but he ignored her and picked up anyways. She says sorry and then says because we booked through hotels.com she was limited to what she could do for us because of the company trying to get guests to book through them directly (like a punishment to us for using a third party site) and offered us 5,000 points to our holiday inn account (mind you we just made the account at check in) which we had no use for at all. She didn’t/couldn’t even offer to move us to a new room. We were jus out of luck. The next day we find our room door was able to be pushed open with no key once again, but I said nothing because we couldn’t prove it was the maid service. The next day AGAIN we find the door was able to be pushed open, but this time the maid service LEFT THEIR BATHROOM CLEANER IN OUR ROOM. I’m heated and over it all at this point. I took the bathroom cleaner on our way out to dinner and asked for the manger. She wasn’t there at the hotel, and they called her and she told them she’d be back at 7 and we could talk to her then. We got back to the hotel at 10 after 7 and ask for her and she’s already gone. The front desk tells us she tried to call the room twice (THEY KNEW WE WERE GONE TO DINNER) and that the general manager would be at the hotel in the morning after 8 and we could speak to him/her then. Well we had to be at our excursion in key west by 10, so we had to leave the hotel right at 8 giving us zero time to speak with the general manager. No one was available to speak to us by the time we got back that day, and the next day was our last. Despite being able to push our door open when we came back that last day, we were tired and knew it was pointless to say anything at this point because multiple times we were told their hands were tied to what they could do for us. We checked out the next morning to head home, but this whole experience made our vacation hard! WE WERE THERE TO HAVE A STRESS FREE VACATION AND IT WAS THE EXACT OPPOSITE. DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!!!!!!!!

Great hotel, great staff. During our 12 days US trip Holiday Inn Express were the best hotels. Good large room, great AC. If you can have a choice take a room on 2nd floor. First floor can be a bit noisy in this hotel if above guest walk/jump on the floor but is just minor thing.

After relocating from Key West due to the smell of the seaweed we called and the hotel was able to take us in that night for the days we needed. Updated rooms, nice gym, free beach towels to use on and off the property, nice pool, great breakfast for the kids. Staff was friendly. Couldn't ask for more.

this was a great hotel for our family. We enjoyed the pool. The rooms were clean and nice. The staff was friendly. The breakfast area was huge. A lot of people were eating breakfast but there was plenty of room. Instead of waffles they have a pancake maker which I though was a cool addition.
