#4 of 16 in Marathon
Tranquility Bay is a place like no other, apart from the crowds. Nestled in the heart of the Florida Keys’ palm-lined paradise, in warm and welcoming Marathon, you’ll find a tropical oasis that’s easy to get to, but hard to leave. Because here you’ll make the memories that matter. Wake up to the glistening waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Stay in a private, standalone beach house right on the ocean or surround yourself in the tropical sanctuary of more intimate garden guest rooms. With no hallways, three pools, onsite watersports and plenty of room to just space out--you can do everything to nothing at all. At the end of the day, let powder-soft sand sift through your sun-kissed toes as you relax on a 2.5-acre private beach. Relax,*sigh*… you’ve arrived.

We stayed at Tranquility Bay in a 3 bedroom beach front house. The experience was truly a memorable one. The house was beyond adequate in terms of space for a family of four. In house washer and dryer (detergent provided) and daily housekeeping provided. The view from the second floor master bedroom balcony was like no other. The private beach was clean and the water itself was calm, warm, and crystal clear. On site amenities included a restaurant and tiki bar with unbeatable views. Very family friendly with tons of nearby activities. Well worth the price for an unforgettable experience. Highly recommended.

The resort is beautiful and we had a terrific time during our first visit to the Keys. On the plus side, the private beach is fabulous and much better than the local public beach; the pools were beautiful; the beach house was homey and comfortable; the grounds are beautiful; the location in middle keys provides opportunities to visit lots of other areas. Things to know: the beds were bad, like really bad, I looked at the tags and our mattress was manufactured in 2010; the house we were in could do with a bit of an update there were rust stains and general wear and tear; it's a sleepy resort, not a place if you want to party and socialize; the fitness room is terrible but that's a great excuse not to work out right? In all, we had a great trip and would recommend it.

This place is absolutely amazing. It is very peaceful, clean and beautiful. The pool is very lsrge and you can tell everything has been taken care of. The only issue we have had is that last night when we laid down in bed to relax and watch TV we had alot of trouble getting the remote to work. It was very hard to change the channels, get to the guide or even exit the guide. For the price I feel we shouldn't have to deal with that.

The resort is beautiful but sorely lacks overall management. No one checks the sun chairs and (sometimes broken) umbrellas on the beach. Abandoned beach toys are left out for days and there's a "wild west" feel to the whole place. Yesterday a man at the pool, prompted by his children, decided to catch an iguana that he then allowed the children to run around with. The iguana became terrified, was ultimately let go and took a panicked dive into the pool and swam away. The shriek from people in the pool was extremely loud and lasted for a while so you would guess that someone from the resort would check on the commotion - but no. Obviously an idiot who enjoys tormenting iguanas can hardly be blamed on the resort, but my point is that if I had seen anyone care about this place other than cleaning staff, that man I imagine would never have felt so at ease to do what he did. Would I be back - yes, because it's gorgeous but never in high season because then the lack of caring would likely make the pool and beach area unenjoyable. Such a shame.

This is the best beach resort in the middle keys. We have been going there for at least the last 10 years. The sand is white and soft. Located in Marathon, there are many options for restaurants and stores. Across the street is a Cuban restaurant with the best coffee ever! Right next door to the Cuban place is a convenience store, with a Subway and beer. Right next to Tranquility Bay is the turtle hospital. The aquarium is right down the road. Robbie's is fun with lots a little shops and great food. Whale Harbor sandbar can be fun for families during the week. I'd stick with just adults if visiting on the weekends. Captain Charlie with Key Largo Adventures is the best. We loved the kayak tour at sombrero beach, which is also only minutes away. Bahai Honda also has great beaches. The rooms are beautiful and clean. It's a great resort for families that is also quiet and relaxing, especially if you have a drink from the Tiki bar in hand. No other hotel or resort beats in the middle keys. It is our happy place for sure!!!

We checked in on June 6 and checked out on the 8th. First of all, no bottled water, anywhere. No vending machines and no guest services store. What kinda of hotel that was not cheap, doesn’t even provide a way to purchase bottled water??!! The parking is horrible. We had a rented mustang and it barely fit in any of the spaces. Next, when we checked in and told where our room was, the girl did not mention that we were on the 2nd floor and there are no elevators! I paid a lot to stay there and was just disappointed. The only good thing is the room was clean and views were good.

The accommodations are nice - small but nice and clean. However if you are used to large resorts with endless miles of beach front and multiple pools you will not like Tran Bay. I researched before booking so I knew I would be let down but I figured a small beach is better than no beach (as beaches are non existent in Key West/Marathon. But after arriving I was so underwhelmed and extremely disappointed that I paid so much for so little. The beach is pretty much useless. The pool is ok but doesnt have the wow factor that other FL luxury resorts have. I would not classify Tran Bay as a Luxury ressort. Across the street from it is a Tom Thumb gas station and liquor stores on every corner. Luxury resorts should be secluded from the main street with some lavish landscaping so u feel like ur in paradise the second u arrive. Dont waste your money… if u want to experience the keys stay at a cheaper place dont waste ur $ on Tran Bay as its not even close to being worth it especially considering the resorts the rest of FL has to offer. Tran Bay and every resort in the Keys is charging an arm and leg becuz its the Keys… the properties and amenities leave a lot to b desired.

While the resort itself is beautiful, the environment is sterile and the accommodations quite overpriced. Rooms were comfortable and clean but basic given the price tag. Food at the Tiki hut is fine but again, not worth the cost. I wouldn’t stay here again … not because it wasn’t a beautiful resort … but because the sterile, unwelcoming atmosphere just isn’t what I am looking for … especially for the price tag.
