Me and my sweet lady of the south scarlet stayed at capt pips and rented a boat there and there was this kewl cat there named Bimini twist that would follow us around. That cat is awesome. My pal bob that server at steak and lobster house told us how kewl it is at capt pips. Thanks bob for the local knowledge. Please tip good in the keys cost of living is high there
We did the full day Spirit II snorkeling and private island package to start our trip in the Keys. The experience was so stunning that we decided to end our trip with another round of just snorkeling on Spirit I for their sunset cruise. We were lucky enough to get Captain Larry and First Mate Ken both times! They are like friends now. Those two are competent, fun, helpful, and made the experience what it was. Captain Pips was the BEST way to start and end our visit!
I was fortunate to do two trips with Captain Larry and first mate Ken. The first trip was the island adventure and the second was the sunset snorkel trip. Both were amazing! These guys are fun-loving, knowledgeable, helpful, and just good humans. I had an absolute blast! They made the experience that much more enjoyable with their fun personalities. Thank you, Captain Pips for incredible adventures in the keys with Ken and Larry. I could have floated on my noodle all day! 😁
We missed the main office as it is a trailer set back a bit from the road. The lady that checked us in was very polite. The exterior of our building appeared a little old but we were very impressed with the decor, size and amenities in our room.
Awesome snorkeling trip!! Absolutely beautiful! Ken & Larry did everything possible to make sure we had a great time! Loved the snorkeling & time to relax on the private island! Loved that it was just us & another group. Not your typical overcrowded boat ride. Would highly recommended!!
We went on a snorkeling trip with Captain Juan and Micah! We had such a great time exploring the reefs, learning about the area, and talking with the Captain. We are visiting for our honeymoon and Captain Juan gave us several amazing recommendations!
My wife and I have been staying in the keys for 30 years and always look for new places to stay. We stayed at Captain Pips for 3 nights. Very clean room, great location, excellent prices. Most places in the keys are weekly rentals Saturday to Saturday. Huge advantage being able to book for fewer days any time of the week. We didn't bring our boat but they have nice dock facilities, at an extra charge, though. I highly recommend this place.
We've just spent 2 nights here in the Osprey suite and left with such Happy memories. The suite was well maintained with great facilities and a view over the ocean that was out of this world... and was difficult to leave!! The resort is well maintained and is currently going through some upgrading and expansion, but this didn't impact on our stay. The complex offers great ways to play on the water, from free kayaks for guests to boat hire and cruises from the resorts own craft. The staff were professional and friendly, at one point calling us over to the dockside to show us a manatee that had just popped up to say 'hello and get a drink of fresh water from a hosepipe!!!
There were a number maintenance issues with the property - Lights not working, loose toilet seat. Also, the room was not clean - crisps on floor, black feet walking across floor. Problems reported, but nothing done by management. That said, the location was good for visiting the Keys. Would I visit again? Probably not
Our family of 4 visited for 3 nights and stayed in the Marlin Apt. It was a great location among the Keys, perfect amount of space for us, loved being next to Porkys for happy hour and breakfast for the family. Very clean, very accessible. Would definitely recommend.
