Stayed in the Jellyfish suite, very nice little appartment, very well stocked little kitchenette, clean and comfy. Nice water view from the bedroom. We came in late and called ahead, our room key and information was waiting for us at the check in trailer, all was very smooth and no stress!

Clean room, quite and relaxing sitting on the balcony or sitting out in the garden area, the bed was very comfortable. The front staff ladies were friendly check in and check out. It was the perfect Birthday that my husband gave me. We will be going back.

We found this place based on TripAdvisor reviews. Unique family owned business. Staff was great to work with even though we had to cancel and rebook twice! We stayed in Sailfish and would recommend this ground floor room because it’s one of only two in the building. Not fancy but reminiscent of cabin/lodge accommodations from days gone by. Be aware that they charge a $15 per day resort fee for beach towels, cooler, kayak and bike use. Pool says it is heated but it doesn’t feel that way! Still nice. Our only disappointment was that we did not get to snorkel (which they offer), kayak or bike ride. Too windy! There was a small craft advisory during our stay. But you pay the resort fee regardless. This was a good location on the keys. Beautiful drive to Key West and only takes about an hour! 7 mile bridge was well worth the drive! We went o Key West almost every day or evening and ate dinner there several times. Sombrero Beach is only a three or four miles from Captain Pips and it was really nice! We enjoyed a beach day there twice.

This was our second stay at 'Pips'. We were very impressed with our first stay, taking a chance on a waterfront working marina. The old 'Conch' style buildings don't look like much on the outside but they are all updated on the inside. Great water views. The rooms are quiet at night despite being close to US '1'. The rooms are clean and the staff is professional. We had terrible weather but that isn't the fault of the staff. The maid (Ann?) was awesome and kept us supplied with coffee and fresh towels while we waited out the tropical storm. The marina itself is picturesque. The restaurant next door, 'Porkeys', has very good food and their breakfast was good as well. The bartender (young man from Guatemala) was very friendly. All in all, I would recommend Capt Pips for the value and location on the water.
