My husband and I have been visiting the JR and staying from January to March for the past 7 years. Angie and her staff are friendly and always helpful. We have made so many wonderful friends and have had loads of fun. The park is on the Gulf with beautiful ocean views. The pool is really nice and the new 'tiki hut' style pavilion is a great place for park activities. If you are a dog lover, the 'bark park' provides a nice fenced in place for dogs to exercise and socialize. The JR is a safe and quiet place to stay. We consider the JR our winter home away from home and we always look forward to returning to this special place.

As we entered the campground, we noticed several sites that were cluttered and messy. Our site was 158 behind the seawall. It was pie shaped and the seawall dead ended at the tip. The view was beautiful except when a few inconsiderate“old timers” felt a sense of privilege and chose to walk through our camp even though the seawall was plentiful in the opposite direction. We were later informed that the sidewalk was common area. This is Not an ideal site if you want privacy. Oddly enough, several campers commented on it being a good site. After walking around the campground, we noticed the majority of the sites were cramped and felt lucky. The bathhouse was disgusting. Fortunately, I never had to use it because mold was plentiful in the shower, hair on the walls, and the same two dirty Qtips were on the floor for 3 days! There’s no AC in there either. I wouldn’t want to have to use it! Luckily, I had a great RV. I did mention it to the office. The next day it looked like someone tried to clean but the Qtips, & hair on walls remained!!! It looked like one site ran a repair shop!! It had a broken frig sitting outside our entire stay!!! Not something I want to see in vacation!

stayed one night in a tent while on a biking trip. Staff was helpful. Other guests were friendly, helpful and respectful. close enough to walk a few blocks to a nice restaurant/bar. Clean and well managed. I would definitely stay here again if in the area.

So nice here, backing up to the water if you have a premium site, but entire area is well-kept and pretty. Pool in great shape and enjoyable. Staff very helpful, especially Ben in helping us find a site to use the sewer to dump, since our van doesn't fit for a sewer hook-up. Our only issue is our site, being last-minute, was near Overseas Highway and it's a little noisy.

This is our 9th year to spend the month of February at the JR. The things that draw us back year after year are: - Friendly staff that go out of their way to make our stay enjoyable - Great neighbours who we enjoy visiting and spending time with - Fun events such as Valentine's Dinner, Burger Days, Fish Fry, Hot Dog Days - The views from our site on the seawall overlooking the Gulf - Excellent wi-fi and cable TV - A new Tiki Pavilion for hosting events - Sunsets
