I was worried about renting here because most of the reviews were not good. I must say the room is very clean, the bed is comfy (no bed bugs) the a.c. was very cold. However the facility needs mayor renovations. The rooms are old, the doors have holes and are broken and the pool was dirty. For the price i... More

We have been coming back here for years. Clean rooms and great pool. I love the room set up for access to the pool. Mini fridge provided. Quiet small and personal. Friendly staff. Our family loves this hotel. Park your car just outside your door. Walk to local restaurants. Our favorite place to stay compared to other hotels in the... More

We stayed in their sister motel (Key Lantern) a couple of months ago and loved it. That wasn't available so Sunset Inn was recommended. It is budget friendly as well, so we expected it to be about the same - it wasn't at all. The room was a nice size, the king bed was comfy, and the kitchenette was handy,... More

Just back from an overnight trip to Islamorada. We live in South Florida and have stayed in Key Largo, Islamorada, Marathon and Key West. The humid salt air is hard on buildings. Don't judge the motel by the cracking 1000th coat paint. Yes this place is old - but so are most of the motels/hotels in the Keys. Our room... More

I stayed here around New Years 2016 after not being able to find any accommodations in the keys on big name travel sites without paying $300/night. I found it on a google search and called and luckily they had one room left for $100/night. It is a very basic motel-style place with a main bank of rooms all connected and... More

Concerned of other reviews about bugs. I thouroughly checked all around the mattresses, and room for any. I did not find any bugs but you could tell that the mattresses have been around for more than a decade. (Stains, and heavy wear) No coffee maker! (I've never stayed in a room that didn't have one), and the rooms could use... More

Don't come here expecting a resort. You are paying a low price in a high price neighborhood. So no coffee, no hair dryers, and no breakfast. But you do get a clean place to secure your belongings, a comfortable bed, a shower and a very good cafe next door. The staff was pleasant and the rooms (I stayed in 3... More

We stayed two nights at the Sunset Inn, the price is fair but I had a horrible customer service experience. The manager called me after I returned home and left a voicemail saying that I had taken a hairdryer and he was going to charge me for it. I then called him where he proceeded to tell me that he... We were recommended to Sunset Inn by a friend and we have stayed twice. The rooms are a nice size the beds are comfortable and the place is clean. It is very dated and basic but you cannot beat the price. I am fairly picky about where we stay but the fact I've come back twice tells you I found... More

Long time customer, this is our "go to" place in the Keys. Located about 20 miles S of Key Largo, this motel is just right for FL residents that are just here to FISH. If your are looking for the Ritz Carlton, keep looking. The Sunset Inn is a good value, a clean room, a place to crash for the... More
