Travelers' Choice
The "Queen of the Florida Keys", Cheeca Lodge & Spa has been an exclusive hideaway for celebrities, business leaders and U.S. Presidents for over 70 years. Set on 27 private oceanfront acres in Islamorada, Cheeca has been constructed with a porte-cochere entrance, traditional Florida Keys architecture and spirited tradition of “barefoot elegance” -- a term coined at Cheeca. Along with a coffee bar and top-shelf lobby bar, Cheeca boasts three distinctive restaurants: Atlantic’s Edge, Cheeca’s flagship restaurant offering a seasonal fine-dining menu of fresh local seafood, prime steaks and organic local produce, Nikai Sushi Bar and Restaurant offering the Florida Keys’ freshest sushi, Asian-inspired fare and a unique selection of Japanese sake and wine; and family-friendly Mia Cucina restaurant transporting Naples, Italy into the heart of Islamorada serving up made to order artisan pizzas, pastas and salads.

A 24 hour stay in paradise during winter! The views were breathtakingly beautiful even at night. The staff provided excellent service. The food and beverages were delicious at the three restaurants we sampled. The heated pool was the warmest we’ve been in any resort during winter. The balcony soaking hot tub at sunset was the relaxation I was seeking. Wish we could have stayed longer! Definitely coming back …sooner than later.

We booked this as a part of our honeymoon and opted for the honeymoon package. Not a single staff member acknowledged this despite reminding the front desk and management. Rooms were not cleaned in a timely manner (after 4 pm) and we had to repeatedly ask for our room to be made-up. Room was missing bath-robes and bath towels. Shower water never reached higher than luke warm. Front desk staff were rude and inattentive. Golf course is unplayable and grounds were very poorly maintained - worse than any public course I’ve ever seen. For almost $800 a night, stay elsewhere and get service and accommodations more proportionate to the cost.

We had a golf course view suite. Could be a nice 9 hole pitch and putt, but the Condition was deplorable. T boxes should have artificial mats because they were All sand, no grass. Greens lumpy, bumpy and sparse grass. Our suite had NO, electric Outlet in the bathroom. I asked 2 maintenance people for an extension cord and stood next to Concierge while he called for one and in 3 days, no cord was delivered. The squeaky sliding doors to bathroom were dirty; needed painting. The carpet was Old and very worn looking. Room service was handy and right on time. The pools, And the property view of the water are stunning. Kids can catch small fish right from The dock and feed them to the waiting Pelicans. If you think (almost) $1000 a day is Not a lot to spend then maybe this is your getaway spot.

Bathroom was filthy. Electric outlet didn’t work and had blood on it. Front of vanity and where the towels are was really awful, splattered with toothpaste, shaving cream and soap. Shower was the same
