We visit Islamorada every year, for over 25 years, and we usually stay in smaller hotels, but this year we decided to give Cheeca Lodge a chance, as the bigger, full service resort. It did not disappoint! Despite the massive size of the resort, we still had the peaceful, serene feeling that we were looking for. Allow me to point out all the positives: 1) Housekeeping was fantastic (unlike most hotels today, where you can barely get a set of new towels every day). 2) Pools and pool bars were awesome 3) Check in and check out was easy and fast 3) Our Lagoon view suite was giant, with a full kitchen (everything worked), living room, huge bathroom with a great soaking tub ( my wife loved) plus a nice big shower for me. Bed was so comfortable, I had to be dragged out of it each morning! We did not dine on property, since we have all our local favorites, one of which is Morada Bay Beach Cafe (affiliated with Cheeca). Morada Beach Cafe was absolutely fantastic for a sunset drink then a wonderful seafood dinner. 4) The entire staff was pleasant and helpful, and always with a smile on their face. This comes from the top, so I assume senior management is on top of their game, understanding that service is ultimately much more important than the physical plant. 5) Suite rate was reasonable, as compared to other local lodging, relative to season (Sep is always thew slowest month in the Keys). 5) Watersports operation was excellent too, with paddle boards, kayaks, etc.. and we did a one hour Jet Ski rental that was fun. I highly recommend Cheeca, will visit again soon! Gary R…
Stunning large rooms and bathrooms! The grounds are unlike any other resort setting in The Keys and even improve in the evening plus you have a large beach. It's very quiet and whoever comes to visit; family or couple can find a nice getaway area to relax and enjoy the grounds. Two Tiki huts on the beach offer the finest beverages and pool side food with a menu that will get your heart pounding! Try the Lobster grill cheese and Hummus platter. So good!!!! We live in South Florida and visit The Keys every other month - Cheeca Lodge and Spa is our most favorite destination for a getaway. Great location for seeing other local sites or just stay on site, they have everything you need.
There is nothing negative about this Resort! The staff is friendly and helpful, Rooms are clean and comfortable Property is well maintained. There is so much to do while staying at Cheeca, so be sure to take advantage of everything offered!
Super place. Grounds opulent and lush. Clean as can be. Room was very nice. Breakfast too notch. Loved this place- desk and staff were courteous and friendly. Great bar/pool set up Cant wait to get back
Impeccable service from all staff members. Beautiful, secluded property. Nice rooms. Great pools and pool service with one adults-only pool. Well-equipped fitness center. Free rides to all nearby restaurants.
Very unique resort. More like Caribbean than Florida, which was cool. Marcus at one of the bars was exactly the type of service we all want. Room was not cleaned upon check in, but they quickly resolved. Smell from water is overwhelming. Probably unfair to blame the resort for the smell, but it was so overwhelming it impacts the stay. Graveyard on property was weird. Despite it paying homage to those who settled that place.
As I was told when we arrived, we will not go back to the Islander like we have before. Cheeca is our new forever location. I have been to many resort throughout the entire keys and I have to ay honestly, Cheeca has been the best!!
This property is perfect! It’s a resort in the US that feels like an all inclusive. The pools were great and service is top notch. Everyone greets you as you walk around the resort. The grounds are very well manicured. Other reviews mention the smell, but it was hardly noticeable after the first day. The town is very walkable but we were surprised how few people do. I guess that’s due to the complimentary shuttle service. I wouldn’t hesitate to return to this resort.
From check-in, the room, the resort, the food, and the staff, we had an amazing 5 days at Cheeca. This resort ranks among the top resorts we've visited over the years and I'd highly recommend!! We are already planning our return trip.
Stayed for our 1st anniversary simply amazing in every aspect. Only thing negative was a minor bumper issue on our first night with the valet service, but he helped me fix bumper and backed the car in for the rest of our trip.
