Detailed Reviews
This hotel was sort of a mixed bag. Location was awesome, descent rates and it was really cool being on the canal where they have chairs for you to sit and watch the water (saw a manatee).
However, despite the rooms being newly renovated, the building is obviously old. It smelled kind of funky and they had a sign over the toilet that said “please do not flush your toilet paper, place it in the garbage, our plumbing cannot handle it.” Who says that?! I paid almost $200 for a one night stay and I can’t flush my sh** covered toilet paper down the toilet? I’d stay here again if I needed too but it’s certainly not my first choice.

Plenty of parking on property, cool location right on the water, very limited office hours, extended delays in getting anything we requested (iron and ironing board, toilet paper, extra towels - took overnight to get them). Saw many different employees who must all work very few hours - office was often closed. 2 pools were clean and comfortable, but right next to outdoor restaurant or along road so pools were pretty loud, pool towels only available in office which was rarely open, staff were polite and friendly when they were there. Beds and pillows were comfortable, temperature in room was good, floors felt sticky, small shower with no shelves to put anything, decor was cute, fridge and microwave worked.

This was our 3rd stop, as my husband and I had been exploring The Keys with our starting point being in Key West. We stayed 2 nights here. We were looking for an affordable and clean place to stay. I was attracted to the location being that it sits on a canal and is a marina as well. I paid a little extra through booking, com for a bottom floor room that opens to the canal. If we stay here in the future, we would not choose that option again. People were literally fishing directly in front of the entrance to our room and had claimed the outside chairs that I’m pretty sure were meant for our room. Just a lot of foot traffic in front of and directly beside our room that we didn’t like. I would have liked for “our space” to have been more clearly defined. Our other gripe is that they have lights on outside the room all night long that shone into our room interfering with our sleep. We need a nice cool, dark room to sleep good at night. We understand the need for lighting at night for security but they absolutely need to get blackout shades for the rooms to help with blocking the light. The bed was comfortable, I wasn’t a fan of the bed spread- cheap and scratchy but I could deal with that. The room itself was nice enough and clean enough for the value. As mentioned in other reviews, you absolutely cannot check in until 4:00, don’t even try. We tried to check in in around 3:05pm and the person working the front office seemed a little irritated with the request.. she was much more friendly when we came back at 4:00 however. It is located in Tavernier which is in between Islamorada and Key Largo, which was a great spot to explore from. If we ever stay here again, I would definitely request a different room to help more privacy and maybe the lighting situation isn’t as bad on the 2nd floor. Also, highly recommend the little restaurant called What The Fish? Which right beside the Inn, great food and service!

My husband and I stayed here for 6 nights (3/11 - 3/17/2021). We had a standard king that faced the parking lot (not the courtyard as the information suggests) and was small, dark and dismal. There was a light that hung outside of the frosted window, so the room was lit up all night long, but the only way to actually see outside, was a tiny sliding window in the bathroom. The room was pretty clean and remodeled recently, but the shower had no water pressure and never really got hot. We asked the front desk on the third day to have it looked at, but that never happened!! The front desk is ran by three young kids that have no personality. I don't think that I ever got a smile and another guest told me that she got an eye roll when she asked too many questions!!! When we got in before 4 for check-in, we asked for a place to change until we were able to get into our room. We were sent to the restaurant next door to use their bathroom. Very poor customer service. There are two pools, but only the one next to the restaurant can be used. Not sure why??? Our room was over $300 a night after tax and was like staying at a Motel 6 and worth $35 a night. I would never recommend the wasted money on this location to anyone that wants to enjoy the Florida Keys. Do your research, there are so many better locations to stay.
A plus to the area is the restaurant next door that serves great food. This was a great place for breakfast and nice that we only had to walk next door. There is also a Paddle shop down the road (easy walk) that rents kayaks and paddle boards that can be used in the canals, a seafood restaurant that was open on the weekend and a bait/charter store a few doors down. These places were a plus to the location.

I’m writing this review because I feel people need to be informed of how sneaky and unprofessional management is in this hotel. I called and made my reservations 3 weeks prior to my stay. I called and requested to reserve a double bed room. The young girl gave me a price and I booked a non-refundable rate. I was ok with that. I received a call later on the evening that my cc payment didn’t go through. It turned out she had written the wrong cc numbers. Fast forward I get to the hotel and they give me a room with a king size bed and tell them I wanted a room with a double bed so they offer to change my room and an additional fee if $117 for the stay. I became upset but o paid it.
Later the next day as I’m with my family in our boat I received a call from the manager informing me that because I requested to change my room I had to pay an additional $250 and needed to go see her. I told her that was not right I had already paid what I was told and she told me if I didn’t like it I could leave the hotel. They have been taking reservations and never made a mistake. By the way the confirmation email they sent doesn’t state what type of accommodations they are booking you in. So when you book make sure you get the type of room you request.
It’s a shame because after years of choosing this place to stay I will not be coming back.

Stayed here for 3 nights. On the 3rd day the room next to us had a toilet
flood into our room, causing us a major inconvenience when we came
In from diving and needed to get ready for a wedding. Moving into another room was not an option and we were displaced to shower in another room and move all our things for the wedding back and forth causing us to be late for the wedding. Management wasn’t available at night when we returned to our room finding water still on our floor at 10pm. No one was in the office to help us the following day at 9:15 am when we were checking out and the management has still not returned our call to refund our night for our canal front king size room that turned into a displaced nightmare.

It was clean, but it was old and small. Walls are thin, manager did laundry until after midnight keeping me awake. Heard neighbors singing before 9am. The bed is fine, but there is nowhere to sit besides an uncomfortable wooden chair. There is a TV with cable but no access to streaming. You can either have a high pressure cold shower or a hot shower, but not both. For a lower price, you can have a penthouse hotel room in Miami and take transportation to mangroves/snorkeling or other activities you might seek in the keys. This is the most overpriced hotel room I have ever booked.
That being said, my room was right by the creek - I saw dolphins at night and you might see manatees and other cool sea creatures. The view of the creek is good and ideal if you want to fish from your hotel room. Still not worth the price for me.

We have stayed here before and had an overall good experience, but not this time. Mainly because the service and grounds maintenance is so poor. You have to ASK to have your room made-up. We posted our door hanger for room service, as instructed, but still no service came for multiple days. We requested service in person and got new towels and our garbage emptied, nothing more. The in room coffee is never replenished and they only give you decaf. The outdoor BBQ/sitting area used to be nice but now they leased half of it to commercial fishing boats so there are forklifts, pallet stacks and trash all over and no maintenance or cleaning. Most of the canal private boat parking is leased out to the neighboring boat rental business instead of for guests, so outside your room is a bunch of stored rental boats. Our rooms toilet was literally broken from the rusted floor bolts and rocked side to side when you sat on it. The once nicely tiled floor and shower was filthy with caulking all over. There just is little to no effort going into this place and it shows. While priced lower than many Keys places, it is far from inexpensive at an average $280/night for our stay. The location is good but we will not be coming back here again.

My wife and I stayed here 2/26 & 2/27/2024. Upon arrival, we were told to hang the “service room” sign on the door the next morning if we needed new towels and/freshen the bed. We did so at 11AM, and were gone until 9PM. When we returned, the room hadn’t been touched, and all of our towels were where we had left them—on the floor. Secondly, the blinds didn’t block out the light from the outside coach light so the room was quite bright all night. While it was clean, the place is old and seen better days. We won’t be back.

Stayed with Creekside twice a year for two weeks at a time the last 6 years to fish with friends, Made a reservation to stay with them this year and then covid made its way in our house. I knew i was on a non refundable room but just asked if i could have a credit since we could rearrange flights. Manager agreed not to charge and leave it open then turned around and billed me the next night 2/4/21 she didn't even give me a day, completely $#itty customer service! I can barely get out of bed and all they care about is money. Im in the travel industry and everyone i can tell is going to hear this story. Disgusting.
