Townhomes are beautiful and clean. Great location to everything. Wish we would have stayed longer than 1 night. Definitely would like to go back for a long weekend. Staff is very friendly. Everyone is quiet. Pool is beautiful. You can fish right there.
We arrived at checkin time and were greeted promptly. Great unit for our family of four. We split our time between the Villas and the main Islander property. Great overall experience. Perfect sunsets at the Villas and quieter pool time. Overall comfortable base camp for exploring up and down the Keys.
The idyllic Florida Keys made for a perfect beach wedding. Everything from the rooms, the venue, the menu, the bartenders, the wait staff was very efficient. I hope to return to celebrate another special occasion.
The bayside villas were great! This was one of the only places we could find that had a kitchen as we like to make our own food. It was stock enough with the bare necessities, but there is a little market just down the street to get more supplies. There was also a grill available by the pool. We had great sunset views every night sitting by the pool! They also have a shuttle between the two properties! If you are looking for a nice place to stay with more space to spread out and have a kitchen, this was a great place. We stayed in one of the preferred villas that was a little further away from the highway and it was very quiet and not a lot of road noise, we were able to sit out on our balcony at night and it was very peaceful!
The best part of staying at the villas was the use of the sister resort up the road. We liked the way the villas were laid out and outfitted better than the islander resort and we just went over there for free kayaking, corn hole, ping pong, enjoying the beach, and Tides for dinner. The only thing I did not care for was the mildewy smell upstairs. Probably just all the dampness in the carpeting so I got some air fresheners. A dehumidifying system or just remove the carpeting might help. I called about 2 light bulbs being out the first night we were there that were not replaced, no biggie. Told desk staff when we checked out. Keys stopped working the last night after housekeeping came to remove trash I assume, again no biggie, just a few minute wait. Would come back. Those that have reviewed and complain about road noise, Islamorada is on a narrow strip of land and is to be expected. Nice location with good breakfast close by at Midway cafe, necessary items just up the street at the Trading Post.…
if you think it’s OK to have leaves in your bathtub and unclean room and women’s eyelashes stuck to the wall when you arrive. This is your place. Spent three days asking them to clean the room properly and they couldn’t even send somebody till the final light I was there I had to absolutely throw a fit to get somebody to come to my place and clean it properly
We love bayside and Islander Resort! They both get 5 stars. However, Bayside unit #104 where we stayed has been ridden hard and put away wet. From the mildew/ mold smell that greets you at the door, to the marle tile floors that are crumbling due to weak subfloor on both 1st and 2nd floor, the worn carpeting on the stairs, disintegrating baseboards in the one full bath upstairs, we were underwhelmed. Even so, the views and relaxing experience of being at Bayside and The Islander, we would still come back. I hope that this review helps them to improve unit #104.
Second time we stayed here. First times at the Villas. Two bedroom townhouse style with full kitchen and washer n dryer and 1.5 baths was great for a family of five. Great staff. Easy check in. Spent most of our pool time at the Islander. Everyone loved it. Our biggest issue was the key situation. Several times throughout the week all of keys would stop working. The Villas uses a different key system than the Islander. And there’s only someone in the Villas office during check in. We were part of a group of 18. And this caused a lot of issues. We had to wait up to and over an hour sometimes for someone to come over to make new keys. We heard their reason for keys not working so many times we could recite it ourselves. I can tell you it wasn’t the cell phones or too close to credit cards. One of the villas had a 3 and 5 yr old that got locked in. Took an hour to get someone there. Almost called the fire department. They need to update their key system. Or keep someone at the desk at all times at the Villas. Everything else was great. We also used Clearly Unique for snorkeling and a Sandbar excursion. They run out of the Islander which was super convenient. The fun crew were also great. Ricardo was great! My kids had a great time hanging and playing soccer, basketball, ping pong and a bunch of other activities.…
We loved having access to the Islander and all the amenities there, we were traveling as a family of 4. But these Villas need some updating. Our appliances were all terrible and really didn’t work - the dryer didn’t dry, the dishwasher was falling out with a broken handle and not getting dishes clean, the kitchen was minimally stocked with “pans” that weren’t really usable being so warped and small, and the wall paint throughout was bleeding or faded. The shower curtain was so short that it didn’t even hit the top of the tub and water went everywhere when anyone showered (we lined the floor with all the towels we could find to soak up the water… but then our dryer didn’t work… ). That said, the pool was quite lovely, and we really enjoyed using the outdoor grill. We also found staff to be very friendly. While the beach wasn’t really a beach (that’s not because of the grounds but due to the fact that it’s just hard to have a beach in the Keys), the views from the property were beautiful. The manatees coming to the docks at the villas two days during our stay was special. We appreciated the parking, the friendly staff and the fantastic location. But, honestly, it felt a bit overpriced to us. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be many more options in the area! Hopefully with a little investment and TLC, the Bayside Villas will be a perfect stay.…
We truly LOVED our Villa!!! So comfortable, spacious, well decorated and the floor plan was perfect! The three of us decided we could easily live here. The washer and dryer in the unit was wonderful which means you could pack very light if staying here for a week or so. We did not visit the hotel amenities but I can only imagine they are spectacular! We were so happy here we did not feel we needed to go anywhere else. Don’t hesitate … book your stay here in a Villa! The morning and evening views from the first and second story porches won’t disappoint!
