Magnificent views from the pool deck and the bar overlooking the Bay, particularly at Sunset. Free access to paddle boards, snorkeling equipment and bicycles. The suite was well-appointed and very comfortable. Great restaurants nearby but I suggest reservations one week in advance.

We had originally scheduled a trip overseas for our 30th anniversary before the world shut down. I decided to try to find somewhere in the US that was somewhat secluded but still warm and nice enough to replace our planned trip. It is an expensive place to stay but well worth it compared to other options we could find. Casa Morada is a beautiful little place to stay. There are a limited number of rooms available on a fairly large property. The private little island that has the pool, bar and lawn chairs was a great place to hang out in the sun without dealing with crowds of any sort. So we booked our trip for a week at the end of Dec/beginning of Jan 2021 The service is excellent. Each morning our breakfast was delivered to the room since they could not do their normal setup due to the pandemic. We stayed in the Iguana suite, which is one of the bigger ones and has a little private area with a couple of chairs and looks out to the little harbor and island. The room was clean and comfortable and could be made private by closing the inner doors over the huge sliding doors that overlook the harbor/island. We took advantage of their sunset sailboat cruise on the day of our anniversary and it was well worth the money. I'm terrible with names, but the captain and his mate were full of interesting information about the area while we were getting our private sail. The free yoga classes that were offered were very good and we took advantage of 2 of them. The free Bikes, paddle boards and kayaks were also very useful. You can kayak/paddleboard starting right in the little harbor. They are located close enough to many restaurants that you can just walk, so the car never moved unless we were headed to another key. I'd give them 6 stars if I could, it was just the quiet escape we needed.

This place is a hidden gem. It is not on the main road and is in a quiet little spot. The grounds are very beautiful and the pool area is amazing. They have a nice pool bar with lunch options also. We did some snorkeling right on the property and saw a lot of marine life. The water was calm and warm it was spectacular. Very picturesque. The rooms are huge with a sitting room/living room and a large bedroom. Very comfortable and clean. I highly recommend Casa Morada for a couples stay. It is very romantic.

We stayed here for two nights and loved it! I was a bit hesitant to spend the money, but am so glad I did. Our room had a beautiful view of the gulf. It was spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. My one complaint would be that I'd have liked another hook or two in the bathroom from which to hang towels and bathing suits. Everyone was friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast each morning was just enough to satisfy. The pool was clean and refreshing. It was so nice to sit by the pool and look out at the gulf. They provide bikes, paddle boards, and kayaks for guests to use. They have a pool bar that offers a limited drink and food menu. FYI: they don't have a liquor license so their cocktails are made with sake and/or plum wine, which wasn't my favorite. However they allow you to bring your own wine/beer/spirits for a reasonable corkage fee. The grounds are beautiful! Many good restaurants, breweries, and stores are nearby. In all, this was an absolutely wonderful place and we were disappointed that we had made other plans so had to leave. We'll definitely return to Casa Morada as our go-to place in The Keys!

We loved the beautiful private surroundings, the quiet, the views. The island and pool were gorgeous. Justine took such great care of us at the pool and beach area. And we were lucky enough to have the cabana by the pool one day. It was heaven. Breakfast delivery to our suite was lovely. One day we forgot to order our breakfast the night before and they were thoughtful enough to deliver what we had ordered previously.. Made our morning. Also, it was nice being able to walk to some restaurants. We recommend Mangrove Mike’s for breakfast, Lorelei’s and Lazy Days. CONS: Not enough lighting in Suite for we older people, old worn furniture inside suite, no coffee maker was really a problem since breakfast and coffee isn’t served until 7 AM. For we early risers we had to walk the main drag trying to find early coffee. Not appreciated considering the price we paid. We walked around and investigated many resorts in the area and still found Costa Morada to be the most unique and pleasing to us. We will consider visiting again.
