We booked this through Booking.com which we had never used and saved some serious money. We had zero issues. The resort had us in a GREAT room, right on the beach. Everything at the Islander was awesome except the weather which you just deal with. The rooms are "old school" which we don't mind as are most places in the...

We had a one-night stop in Islamorada, and were willing to pay enough for comfort. However, this place definitely doesn't have the Islamorada vibe. There are a lot of "villas" in rows. Ours was furthest back from the beach. Very ordinary room with a 50s feel. It was clean but not a place to spend a lot of time. All...

We travel a ton and I hardly write reviews but felt the need to let other know about our experience. We took our family here for spring break and for the price we had a little higher expectations. The room was not the cleanest room and the tub had terrible rust stains. The frig leaked several days all over the...

Check in was fine. Only thing is very little front desk. I was in the Hotel industry and they really should be a bit more secured with check in. The room 441 was a King suite. Lovely bed, Handicap bathroom. Very nice. Back of property. Stay there one night. Then checked in my room 325. Nice but could use some...

I just came back from a two day get away with a friend. The hotel is great. Very quiet and a large beach with two pools. We were told that check in was at 4. We got there early and sat by the beach. We noticed that the hotel was not full so we called to see if we could...

Dear Terri T, Thank you for your recent stay at The Islander Resort a Guy Harvey Outpost. We are glad you enjoyed your say and the property! Check out is at 11 am and we do need the turn around to service the rooms properly. They lay out of the resort gives the appearance of not being full but... I...

Delightful accommodations with beach-like front along the east side of Islamorada. Soft however, comfortable beds in single-floor accommodations, each with a screened-in lanai and loungers. All rooms have kitchen facilities and there is a Marketplace within walking distance for groceries. Breakfast is available on-site, either a hot buffet or continental buffet at reasonable prices. Wifi was free and mostly available...

First of all they tried to put us in a lesser room than what we booked. We went back up to the front desk and they changed us to the Beach side King like we originally booked. I personally don't think that was by accident, but to see if they could get away with it. The rooms need to be...

Dear Jerry P, I am so sorry The Islander Resort was not for you. We are an iconic old Florida style resort built in 1950. We recently did major updating when we became a Guy Harvey Outpost. I hope you contacted maintenance about the unfortunate issues your room had? South Florida has scorpions! We cannot control where they want to...

Not bad for the Keys We stayed at the Islander for the first time in our 20-year's worth of visits to Islamorada, since my fly fishing school was based here. We had avoided it previously because of the iconic but aged looking road sign that screamed 1960. Fortunately, renowned artist Guy Harvey purchased the property and gave it an extensive...

A wonderful vacation spot for a couple or family that has a wide beach, a couple of pools and a great bar and grill. Rooms are grouped 6 to a building that face the beach - very easy access to everything outside. Local restaurants are within walking distance - wake up to see the sunrise and walk across the street...

I'm pretty sure we got the worst room at the Guy Harvey, and our rating is a testament to the quality of the rest of the resort. I have a feeling we got the worst room because of a disconnect or disagreement between Booking.com and the resort, which charges a much higher rate than we got from Booking.com. So, fine....

Dear Kim S, Thank you for visiting The Islander Resort a Guy Harvey Outpost. I am happy the grounds and amenities were wonderful for you. I am so sorry that you had a bad room experience. Unfortunately you did have the least desirable room. Maintaining our grounds is very important and it does require equipment that is loud. With almost...
