This place is officially a time share resort where people have bought their weeks. However, once the weeks have been allocated to the members, the remaining weeks are rented out by the week or on a daily basis. This place is not a Hilton. It is more like an old keys style fishing camp. It has efficiencies, one and two... More

This place in a gem. On the Atlantic side of the road. Free boat ramp and heated pool. Clean as a whistle. A little old but great price. Just got new Kayaks for the resort free to use. Great play area for the kids.

Matecumbe Resort has everything from two-bedroom apartments to studio efficiencies, with lush, mature tropical landscaping, a beach with a funky jetty that is lovely to walk along at dusk. The beach isn't much for swimming, but I snorkled around one afternoon and saw lobsters, small rays, and, drumroll. . . a seahorse. There is a well-kept swimming pool, a canal... More

It was a nice stay. But everything in these units were old and a bit outdated. The boat ramp was never cleaned up or racked so the seaweed was always present and it was a bit hard to take out or drop the boat in the water. Everything around close early so make sure you eat early or you will... More

We stayed in the 300 building. Rooms are upstairs. No elevator, so if that is an issue just ask before booking. All of the staff was very nice and helpful. The grounds are well cared for. Some seaweed on the beach but, it is very hard to stop this in south Florida. The room was as clean as one can... More

We've stayed in plenty of different resorts throughout the Keys and thought we would give this one a try. Outdated and worn furniture is something we've come to expect in the Keys. This place has potential, but seems to be lacking normal upkeep and maintenance. We stayed for a week in one of the efficiency units. The paint was peeling... More

We love this place and have been coming here for years. Be aware it is an older property and it is no frills. What we like is the dockage, pool and beach area. View is spectacular. It could use some more updating and maintenance. I look forward to our "time out" here every year.

We stayed in unit 303, which overlookoed the beach and had a great view of the ocean. I started each day on the beach watching the sun rise between Indian Key and the lighthouse at Alligator Reef. Each morning the birds (heron, osprey, pelicans, sea gulls) would fish as the sun came up. There is a big osprey nest with... More

Stayed in an efficiency unit (102). Small but sufficient. Very clean and great ocean view through the sliding glass door. Full-sized refrig, microwave and apt sized stove/oven, sink. King bed, sleep sofa, small table. Volleyball courts (sand), childrens playground, hammocks, beautiful beach and boat ramp/dockage.
