My husband and I stayed over the past weekend at this property, what a dump. The room was dirty and the best part there were BED BUGS. It was 11:00 pm we called the emergency line once we found a bed bug in our bed. We called 3x no answer. We called 7:15am to a woman who was extremely nasty. Once we got back we stopped in and the manager moved our room. We showed him the bed bug, still alive. Didn’t believe us but moved our room. We stay the night in the new room. I woke up extremely itchy. I arrive back home last night went to the walk in clinic to determine, BED BUGS!! Worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. DO NOT STAY HERE
The location is pretty good. However if you’re looking for a hotel that is roomy and cozy this is not it. The rooms are extra small, linens were terrible, and the bed itself was lumpy and hard. There was a very tiny window AC that I kept wondering if it was going to blow up due to the sound it made trying to keep up with the sweltering heat. Definitely will not ever go back there.
Our 1st trip to Key West and I was overwhelmed by options of where to stay. After 2 phone calls to Key West Hospitality Inns, they honored the cheaper rate I found online and answered ALL of my questions (even non accommodation questions too!). We arrived late on a Friday afternoon and we so thrilled with our room. It has been refurbished one week early and it was stunning. It was clean, new furniture, AC, ceiling fans and small kitchen-esque space. They are located in the heart of the Duval loop and everything was walkable from our front step. The staff at the front was knowledgeable and friendly and the breakfast was filling (although get to breakfast earlier rather than later or you miss out on the good bagels!!!). We cannot wait to come back and stay with our new friends at Key West Hospitality Inns!!! Our accommodations made our trip a true 5 stars!…
Key West Hospitality Inns is a business that owns/manages several guest houses. We booked a room at Colors on White. When we arrived we were told that Colors on White was overbooked so we were being upgraded into room 212 at Olivia by Duvall. Frankly-if this was an upgrade the original room must have been horrible. Please note: The room we stayed in is not in the pictures shown on their website. Those are the two rooms facing the rear of the building and opening to the pool deck. If our room even looked like one of those two this would be a different review. I think they were staged for the pics because the rooms did not look like the pictures when we peeked in. Pros: -Very close to Duvall (This kept the rating from being worse). -Roof didn't leak (it didn't rain, but there weren't water stains on the ceiling-work with me here...) Cons: -Front door does not seal, bugs got in. -Sheetrock tape hanging from ceiling. -Ants in the kitchenette area. -Bathroom just bad. -Room connects to both of the other rooms in the house. Doors were locked to both sides, but lots of noise through the doors. -No closet. A curtain across the stairwell hanging from a shower rod with a couple of hangers. -Street is approx 20 feet from the front door. Two parking spaces at the porch. Throughout the night you will be entertained by people slamming car doors, drunks staggering down the street, couples fighting, and groups loudly debating the next bar needing to be graced by their presence. The worse thing of all: The mattresses were both worn beyond service. The better of the two was rock hard, you could feel the coil springs through the padding, and when you moved in bed it was often accompanied by popping and soft "Boing/ Doing/ Spring Sounds". Honestly, when you woke up you felt like you'd spent the night working out at the gym rather than sleeping. Eclectic and vintage left this room a while ago. Seedy and worn is reality today. The upside is that now we have agreed that $260 dollars a night can no longer get us a decent room in Key West. This room was everything I would have expected from a $40.00 a night roadside mom and pop motel. We will either book a well rated house or at one of the resorts. And keep in mind: It doesn't matter that you have a confirmed, paid in full reservation. You may not get what you paid for with these folks.…
I had such a memorable stay. I can't wait to return. Loved our room, loved my tub, it was quaint and homey, everyone was so nice, I didn't want to leave. Convenient to the hub of Key West, for the most part everything is within walking distance.
