We came to visit this house for dinner and fell in love with the owner. Michael is a lovely man who came over to greet us for dinner and had such a wonderful conversation with us about the place and the cafe. Charles was a very sweet waiter who had us laughing. The food is impressive and we left happy and stuffed. We then were surprised by Michael with a tour of the house and WOW … this place is a gem. So many amazing treasures for those open to looking. Thank you so much Michael for your time, your energy and spirit. You made our trip. We highly recommend the coconut shrimp, truffle fries, lobster pizza and key lime pie with pina colada sauce ( a must).
My sister and I enjoyed a delightful week (our second time) at the Southernmost House. The rooms were lovely--We were in Lopez House and had balconies to view the ocean and the street side. The historic houses have been well maintained, and that cannot be easy.. The paint on the walls is gorgeous. The bathroom is large and comfortable. The bed was perfect for me. The TV possibilities had been upgraded and we appreciated being able to watch Netflix and Amazon Prime as well as the usual stations. But the best part of the Southernmost House: the people. I remember especially Jennifer, Michael, Dyana, Rose, Lorraine, Beth, and Keith (I think at the restaurant but maybe the name is incorrect), Everyone was lovely--I am sorry the names are incomplete but the gentlemen who maintain the garden and the houses are efficient and kind. Thank you all. Lisa…
My sister and I had a wonderful week stay. The room was immaculate. The entire staff could not have been nicer or more responsive. It is not a property that is easy to maintain, due to the florida tropical storms, but their workmen and the hotel manager go above and beyond to attend to guests' needs. I so look forward to my next stay.
We just got back from a long weekend and really enjoyed staying here. Everyone is very friendly, we especially loved Ann-Marie at the pool! She even sprayed sunscreen on my husband’s head so he wouldn’t burn! They had a refrigerator in the lobby stocked of bottled water and you can take them whenever you needed. My husband and I really thought that was great.
To say our stay at the Southermost House in Key West was great would be an understatement! Our stay was fantastic! It has so much history and you feel it every time to enter. We were in room 301 and had a great view! Our room was always a cool 68 degrees. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The continental breakfast was a good spread and a good way to start the day. The pool area is really scenic and relaxing, and was serviced from the Sea Side Cafe. You don't have to leave your seat for drinks or food. It was cleaned and tended to every morning we were there. Speaking of the Sea Side Cafe, the food was delicious and the beverages frosty. Michael the owner was around a lot mingling with all the guests, and just a really nice down to earth guy and fun to talk to. It was more than what we expected for a 125 year old Victorian mansion on the ocean to be, especially getting pelted with 24/7 humid salt air and hurricanes. Thank you to all the staff for making our vacation a memorable one! You will see us again!…
This mansion is gorgeous inside and out. It's old so not everything is perfect of course but we loved our stay. When you check in, ask about the interesting history of the mansion. Our bed was very comfortable, breakfast was tasty, the infinity pool was great, the location was ideal and the staff wonderful.
i have stayed here in the past and loved it! however the commercialization of the property made it a huge disappointment this time. with a fence around the pool, a food truck and non paying guests eating and walking around the property didn't allow you to feel like you were staying at a first class establishment. we stayed in room 104 the unattached room was very nice. a great size kitchenette and little front porch. however while sitting on the front porch we had a direct view of the staff supply room, and had frequent tourist think our room was the public bathroom. we actually had 2 tourist walk into our room. on the other side was the supply walkway for the food truck so there was frequent traffic from staff there as well. overall wasn't happy with the lack of privacy. no music for paying guest to listen to while at the pool all you hear are the dinners conversations while they eat their food. the bar closed at 8pm which was a disappointment. the overall property is in need of some tlc start spending some of the money your making on repairs and enhance your paying guest experience. i would also update your website pictures to include the new fenced pool, slushy drink selling out front, gift shop an food truck that are now located on the property. just not the wonderful private nicely kept property i remember. On a good note the pool was wonderful, the bed was super comfy and the staff was overall very nice and the location is great!…
The Lobster pizza is fantastic we where down for a month and had to stop once a week to get the gluten free crust lobster Pizza. We also enjoyed the varieties of oven cooked sandwiches and salads. The staff took very good care of us. It is a must stop when in key west.
Loved everything about this place. Beautifully maintained historic mansion. Staff attentive and so friendly. A special shout out to Anne Marie who took care of us pool side. The pool has a spectacular view of the water. Our room in the Lopez House was an absolute dream.
This was a very private beautiful place. They cheapened it up by added a food trailer and outdoor dining area on the property, and put up a makeshift barrier between the pool area and it. Zero privacy. You literally have people dining 6” away from your head while trying to relax at the pool. You could sit on the other side, but then you have to stare at the diners. Then if the diners have to go to the bathroom, they need to walk thru the property. It’s a clean place, and the house is beautiful, but it’s no longer very private. Maybe they had to do this to survive the COVID era, but they have really cheapened the place. Not so special anymore. I have stayed here before, loved the grounds and privacy the way it was before the food truck and outdoor dining. This is probably my last visit. …
