We had an adorable bungalow right by the pool. The main house is gorgeous with so much history to explore in every room. The heated pool was actually warm enough to swim, even with our marginal weather. Unlimited bottled water was easily available. Perfect location with great views and easy walk to all the experiences.

We biked the nearly 11 miles around the Key and can't imagine a better place to stay on the entire island. First, the building has historical charm (built in 1897), and the high ceilings and classy furnishings make it quite elegant. Second, the pool is private and immaculate, Anne Marie is a delightful conversationalist in serving the poolside guests, and the waters of the Atlantic abut the property. You cannot beat the view. Third, situated at the end of Duvall Street, it's easy walking distance to lots (including the Southernmost Buoy - go in the morning when there's no line), and an easy jog or bike ride from Mallory Square on the other end (1.2 miles), where folks gather to watch the gorgeous sunset. Bikes are cheap ($15/day) and the grounds have places to lock them up. Synopsis: close to everything, but separate enough to be quiet and private. Like everyone's said, the breakfast provided is quite nice (esp when enjoyed outside on the patio tables), and the next door Seaside Cafe (same ownership) has quick and tasty eats (the lobster pizza was fantastic). We were in room 202 and had access to 2 common balconies, which was also great (201 has its own). Bottom line: you will have a great stay here, as it was probably the best part of our wonderful 3 days on the Key.

Our stay was fabulous! Room 107, bottom floor overlooks the pool and the ocean plus has a reserved table in front of the rooms massive window for 107♥️. A huge shout out to the kindest staff and owner!
Nina, Dean and Beth are top notch!!! The owner seen my husband and I trying to get a selffy and ask if he could take out pictures. The pictures were great! He knew which angle to get the steps and mansion in😘. When my husband ask about the bullet hole in the window, he brought us in and showed him the window. These folks are some of the kindest and nicest I’ve seen in Key West! Our anniversary week was absolutely lovely due to this folks. We enjoyed having their famous Cuban coffee on the reserved seating for only room 107 each morning while looking at the ocean and pool. We will be back for sure!!!!
Side note: the southern most point picture opt is like less than a block away. If you’re there at about 7ish, no wait time!

We were at another location in Key West prior to moving here for Christmas Eve and Day. We booked this, paying over $1500 for 2 nights, to spoil ourselves for the holidays. We did so specifically for the 24 hour heated pool (which we discovered wasn't working by stepping in) and the on-site restaurant (which we called and were assured it would be open on Christmas which it wasn't). We own rental cabins and are up front with guests if something has broken and won't be available during their stay. If it's important to them, we find a way to make it right. We don't sweep it under the rug hoping the guest won't notice. The female who checked us in gave us a brief tour of the property with no mention of the pool heater not working. She also told us housekeeping basket would be left outside our room the next day rather than our room being cleaned. We ended up having to go down and ask for one. When I asked the younger male working the desk about the pool heater he told me "it's ok though because the manufacturer is sending us a new one". I wondered how that was going to help us during our stay to which he again told me the same thing. Very disappointing stay not making for the holiday memories we hoped to have. Will not stay here again.

I spent a week at the Mansion on the Sea and it was perfection. The house is absolutely gorgeous, and the experience was enhanced by the efficient, helpful and friendly staff. From the moment I checked in, I felt pampered. The front desk representatives went out of their way to make sure that I had everything I needed; the housekeeping staff kept my room spotless, and the pool and grounds were beautifully maintained.
The Mansion itself is stunning. The house is gorgeous, and it was fun to learn about the history of the property from the front desk staff. You almost feel like you are stepping back in history to a different time.
The pool area is spectacular on its own. There is a great deck right on the ocean where you can enjoy a beautiful view of the water, and the pool is heaven. The temperature was perfect, and I spent 3 out of my 7 days there swimming and relaxing by the pool. They have a fantastic bar right there, and the bartenders were fun to talk with (I highly recommend the Key Lime Pie Daiquiri!)
The location really couldn't be any better. Being on the quiet end of Duval Street is perfect; you can walk to most anywhere you want to go, but you are out of the loud, busy area. There are fantastic restaurants and bars within easy walking distance and the food was great; for the best Cuban Sandwich on the island, be sure to check out Sandy's Food Truck that is parked right across the street from the Mansion. The Mansion also has it's own waterfront restaurant that served excellent food; it was so good that I'm going to write a separate review for that!
My stay at the Mansion on the Sea was a wonderful experience, and I'll definitely be back!

We were hoping for a wonderful relaxing stay. Unfortunately we were a bit disappointed. The pool was not heated, the shower didn't get hot, the wifi didn't work, the breakfast was okay.. some of the pastries had bugs flying around them, bad coffee and the orange juice was expired.
I will say they were very accommodating with letting us get into the room early and letting us leave our luggage. They said they would refund my resort fee (haven't received yet) for the pool, etc. Which is very nice of them.
Overall it was extremely overpriced for what you get. I know it's key west l, and I know it's going to be pricey...but we expected nicer. Might be a drop in a bucket for some, but spending 1200 for 2 nights is a lot for me.

Dear Caitvogtman, Thank you for sharing your experience while a guest at the Southernmost House. It goes without saying that we are extremely disappointed when we learn any guest is even slightly disappointed with their stay. The items you mentioned are all being addressed. I wish that they had been addressed prior to your departure. Any time a guest has an issue, we want to know about it, so that we may fix it immediately! Since Hurricane Ian paid us an unexpected visit, especially at our ocean front location, we have been rebuilding our pool equipment, which has effected the proper functioning of the pool heater almost daily. As of yesterday, we have our pool heater fully functioning, as well as the lights and all other elements that make the zero entry infinity pool so spectacular. Not having hot water or wi-fi is unacceptable, but the issues you mentioned with breakfast, even more so. Please accept my sincere apologies, and know that each and every item mentioned has now been addressed. We hope you will give us another opportunity to serve you in the future.

It’s all about location and you can’t beat it when it comes to Mansion on the Sea. The location is perfect! Located on the other side of the island away from the cruise ships. Much better quieter end of Duval Street. Plus it sits on the ocean and you have beautiful views. Priced reasonable. The swimming pool is perfect. Only recommendation is provide real coffee cups in the room versus paper per the other couple we were staying with.

We stayed in the cottage number 104. Extremely private with your own front porch and view of the pool and the ocean. The cottage has two rooms and a king bed that is very comfortable, a kitchenette and a spacious bathroom with super water pressure in the shower! The infinity pool is amazing and the hotel grounds are beautiful.
The outdoor restaurant and bar is a great place to relax and enjoy some unbelievably great food! The Street corn pizza baked in a wood fired oven and the honey butter biscuits with Maine lobster are reason enough to visit this wonderful property! Great drinks and great service made this one of the best restaurants in Key West.
The staff at this hotel is undoubtedly the best we have ever encountered and we travel a lot! We first met Julia the manager who went out of her way to show us the cottage when we dropped in unannounced. During our stay Julia seemed to be everywhere, I think they cloned her :-) While we were at the pool Anne Marie was amazing at making sure we always had our favorite frozen margarita or mojito. The rest of the restaurant staff and hotel staff were always friendly and very attentive. We tend to stay out late and we ran into security a few times and they were fabulous as well! And we can’t forget Michael the owner of the property. He is a gracious host who takes great pride in his property and his people. Michael makes you feel like you are the most important person staying at the hotel. He seems to be always around with a smile and interesting conversation. Michael sets the example for the rest of his staff.
This is simply an amazing property in Key West. We will definitely be back again real soon!

We stayed here for 3 nights in a corner room with sea view in the house next door to the main house. We had a lovely stay. Great views to wake up to in the morning. Fantastic staff - very welcoming. We likened this old house to staying at a chateau in France. Not immaculate (due to its age) but charming and with great character. The pool setting is top notch with great views of the ocean. Close enough to walk the length of Duval Street and to Mallory Square if you want to hit the bars and restaurants or do some shopping. This venue is pricey but definitely in a great location and a place in which you can relax at some point during your stay.
