This hotel has me double booked for an identical room and has refused to cancel one of the rooms. They are charging me for both rooms!!! I am a repeat customer with this hotel and I can't believe that any hotel would let this happen.
This is a great spot to stay, especially with kids/families. Everyone from guests to employees are friendly. We checked in and never was told that there was a water pipe that broke between the floors. We get to the main building and told the elevator is not working currently. So we take the stairs to find water everywhere. It had just happened.... which all the employees were calm and had amazing teamwork to get it cleaned up and helpful for the guests. At first we were annoyed we were not told at check in since bell hop had everything for a while, glad we already had our suits on. But looking back they did everything correct with the timing. They don't want to freak out a guest at their first encounter. Great job to everyone and we were able to enjoy a cocktail at the pool while we passed the time. Rest of the stay was amazing. Location is also great for families, go towards the warf for a more family friendly area and mallory square which the kids loved!…
Awesome location and staff. Nice rooms. Easy walk to restaurants and bars and perfect place to watch the sunset! Wish pool overlooked the water but not too bad - just really hot since it’s surrounded by rooms. Would definitely stay here again if back in Key West.
We live about 5 hours north of Key West in Port Saint Lucie, FL. We love the relatively short and beautiful drive through the Keys and try to get down there every 1 to 2 years. This was our 2nd stay at the Opal Key West (our first was in May 2021) and we loved it so much we had to go back again! We have points with 2 other hotel chains, but feel this hotel is the best in all of the Keys. While there was a slight issue with our room at check in, hotel manager Rob handled it professionally and we were very pleased with the outcome. They checked in with us a few times via text to see how we were and if we needed anything. The texts were short and not intrusive. The service throughout the hotel is top notch and professional but relaxed, just like Key West should be. We spent time talking with the pool bar manager, Sam, who has worked there for 18 years! He was friendly, attentive and informative. Thank you Sam! We taught him something about a Google app that he didn’t know, so we think he will remember us for a long time to come.…
We were just to stay 1 night but ended up staying 3 nights, we loved the location of the hotel. It was close to everything we were looking for, close to all restaurants on and around Duval street. Rooms were clean and liked the pool view, the staff always did their best to makes us feel like kings.
We stayed here for four nights. Loved our room with a corner balcony. A+ goes to: in room perks like nespresso machine, new, luxe bathroom, heavenly mattress, views to ocean and Mallory Square, Nest bath products, refrigerator and more. Complimentary bottles of water and Pellegrino beverages appreciated. Bonus points for great service and friendly staff. Helena, the front desk manager is the gold standard. B grade for restaurant/beverage quality. We will return.
What a wonderful resort. We had an amazing time! I can't wait to go back! From the minute we walked into the lobby, Truth greeted us with a smile and was very helpful! He even remembered my name when I came into the lobby the next day. And the Sunset Deck bar was great! The sunset views were absolutely amazing and Sam behind the bar was just as amazing!! Not only was he friendly, but he acknowledged everyone as they came up to the bar and he kept track of exactly who was next to be waited on. You don't see that kind of service very often!!
We had an excellent vacation stay at The Opal Key Resort. Our pool view room was very clean, relaxing and well appointed. The staff was very friendly and helpful with anything. The location and grounds are beautiful and accessible to all attractions. We had great breakfasts at Bistro 245. This our second time at Opal and it was wonderful. We are definitely returning next April.
My husband, daughter and I stayed at this resort for 4 nights in February. We had a one bedroom suite with kitchenette overlooking the pool and you could see the ocean beyond. Nice enough room although some of the common areas are a little run down/dated. Lovely staff throughout the resort. We did have to get down to the pool early to grab a good spot. The bar service and food at the pool were great and one evening we ate at the hotel restaurant, Bistro 245. The restaurant patio is directly on the pier which allows you to have the best view for watching the famous sunset. Wonderful location for walking and exploring Key West, a very unique and fun town.
Stayed 4 nights at Opal Key Resort, staff was excellent, stay was great. My wife and I played a round of golf with Sam Jacobson and his friend Taylor. I cannot stress enough the courtesy and respect received by these two young men. My wife is a new golfer and is nervous to play with strangers as she is still learning the game. Sam and Taylor made us both feel relaxed and stress free and made the round one of the best highlights of our entire vacation. Sam is a bartender at Opal Key Resort and if you get a chance to meet and spend time with him, I guarantee you will walk away with a smile on your face. He is a good soul and I will definitely be playing golf with him again when I’m back in Key West. Thank you Sam and Taylor!
