Detailed Reviews

With some recent negative reviews, I felt compelled to write a positive response.
We just spent a week at the Hyatt Sunset Harbor and enjoyed every minute of it.
Beware, this is a timeshare condominium unit comprised of (from what I could tell,) efficiency, one, and two bedroom units. I would only recommend staying in a two bedroom unit.
Our unit was extremely clean, well laid out, wonderful views, and comfortable furniture and beds.
The two bedroom units came in a "lock off" unit where a one bedroom is connected to an efficiency. If you stay in a "one bedroom" you have a door separating you from the separate efficiency unit.
The other two bedroom units are "townhouses" with a master up and a separate, but connected, guest room below. You also have two full bathrooms along with two large decks (though you are very close to our neighbors - so thankfully we met and liked ours.)
We had a full kitchen: Full size fridge, four burner stove and oven, all utensils, and 6 settings. Air conditioning and wi-fi worked great for us.
The pool was heated and the hot tub was hot. Pool towels were available so you dont have to use your unit towels. Get there early as some people claim spots (reserve) with their towels despite signs prohibiting it.
There is no room service and no onsite bar or restaurant.
Location was fantastic. Walk out the back gate and onto the waterfront steps to Mallory Sq. Numerous tourist locations within a stone's throw, though just far enough away to avoid crowds and noise of Duval.
YOU ARE IN THE EYW LANDING FLIGHT PATH. As an aviation geek myself, we did not mind this. Most flights have arrived by 9PM though some delays came in later, Nothing overnight, and nothing too early.
You are also next to the cruise ship dock. We had three ships dock in seven days Ships must depart by sunset.
The concierge inquired if she could assist with anything one time and didnt bother us again.

We enjoyed our stay and loved the fact that our studio came with a tub and partial harbor view. Room was just as described on booking site, and exceeded our expectations as I had come across some negative reviews.
The only recommendations I have for improvements are please do deep cleaning on shower tiles as they were nearly black, just for hygienic reasons. We also would have enjoyed robes to change into when going/coming from the pool, and upgrading towels and pillows; also we could have used more pillows which were promptly brought up to us after calling front desk.
We only say this for future improvement's. We definitely enjoyed it enough to want to come back on our next trip, and upgrade to one bedroom suite!

Stayed here for week and I only wish it had been longer. This timeshare property is located in the heart of Old Key West. Masks are required to enter the reception lobby and hand sanitizer is readily available. Staff were very courteous and efficient. Parking is available in a garage across the street for a nominal fee and luggage carts are offered for guests to use. This property has no onsite restaurant but there are several within walking distance. Many shopping and tourist attractions are also close by.
We booked a 2 bedroom unit facing the marina and it was fantastic. Hotel followed all COVID procedures and everything was really clean! Nicely updated with a 2 story floorplan. Kitchen, dining and living room were on the first floor with bedrooms on the second floor. Both floors had good size balconies facing the water with perfect views of the sunset. Full sized kitchen is well equipped and plenty of towels were provided. During the week the marina was very quiet but when the weekend came there were several boats playing loud music until late. Would recommend that the property install better soundproof sliders in the bedrooms that face the marina. Even conversations could be heard as many excursions depart from this marina every morning and the groups gather right in front of the building.
We chose not to have housekeeping enter our room but the staff were very accommodating with all requests if we needed replenishments (i.e., towels, toiletries, coffee, etc.). Felt very safe and masks were required everywhere except when inside the pool. Pool towels are available just outside reception. Grills are located right off the pool and we noticed staff cleaning on a regular basis.
Overall we had a wonderful time and cannot wait to return.

I have been to many hotels, but when I stayed at this Hyatt in Key West, I experienced no service for the room, no service at the pool, no fitness, just basically a room that came with a 17.00 resort fee. A resort with no services. It gets better. When I checked in I was told at the front desk that parking was a total of 26.88 for my 3 night stay and I agreed, but when I checked out after 3 nights, I was charged for every night at 26.88 equalling 80.62. When I complained the manager told me that the check in person was wrong to tell me it was only 26.88 and she was sorry that I was told that incorrect price and did nothing to secure my return to the Hyatt someday. Do not stay at the Hyatt as it has become a timeshare location.

Staying here as I write this, the first week of November, 2021. We had timeshare points to burn or we’d lose them so we booked a 2 bedroom (which consists of a 1 bedroom full kitchen suite, combined with a “lock off” studio) even though we really only needed accommodations for one couple. I am so glad we did! The 1 bed unit has only a queen bed and a tiny bathroom. While the studio does have a king and a large “master bath” with soaking tub, the unit is small, cramped and depressingly dark. Alone, the 1 bed or the studio would be either underwhelming or unacceptable (not to mention we’d be sharing with strangers an internal connecting door that basically adjoins the two bedrooms). Combined however, they create a perfectly nice 2 bedroom suite. Now that we’ve experienced the layout, it’s the only way I’d stay again.
The location can not be beat. Steps to Malory Square, Duval, and all of key west’s most popular points of interest. Ample parking in the garage next door. Pool area is nice, overlooking the ocean, with clean grills. The units are well equipped with the basics (though there is only 4 of everything, so we ran the dishwasher every other day).
This is the loudest place I have ever stayed, and not in a perpetual party sort of way. We were awoken every morning at 7am by a Gabage truck emptying the property’s dumpsters. You can hear other guests’ walking and talking all around you, through all 4 walls, and through the ceiling and floor. Sunset Harbour is directly on the flight path of landing planes. We haven’t had a full night’s sleep in 7 days, even after we started taking sleeping pills half way through our stay. The view is great, but tranquil it is not.
Finally, while the basic amenities are all accounted for, there are some missing features we’ve enjoyed at other properties. You won’t find in room laundry, a pool bar or refreshed furnishings here. The property is showing its age, which likely matters little to Hyatt because it’s got the three most important attributes… location, location, location.

Sad, mostly inside it felt like a 1 star $50 per night motel, outside it's a 4 star property, yet the propane fre place was never on.
The location is 5 stars, if you visit the Centrics Hyatt a few blocks up you will what I expect from a Hyatt Property... this place should NOT carry the Hyatt name.
I would stay at the other properties and rent a golf car next time.
Wall are thin I could hear next door snoring all night

Went down for a long weekend. As everyone says a bit underwhelming when compared to the other Hyatt properties, but the location is perfect, easy to everything for walking. Really nice all in all. Bathroom was small compared to other vacation club properties but not a huge deal for me. Unit was extremely clean, though lacked cookie sheets, which is strange since the local pharmacies had a limited food selection so I imagine that a lot of people grab a frozen pizza or two during their stay (which the front desk confined was in fact a frequent request) but I made the one I had, (which was more like a drip pan) work. Felt very safe and comfortable here. Loved the location, the ceiling fans were essential, and given the chilly weather the bugs where almost non existent so leaving the door and windows open with the fans going was comfortable for me during the day and some nights too. Other that that it was well equipped, and CVS was close so everything I wanted was easy to get. Duval is right there and jet ski rentals and night cruises are easy to get to. Would go back for sure and recommend to others as the views and the patio are spectacular!

We arrived at this property and were blown away at how conveniently located it was to Mallory Square and all of the fun stuff in Key West. The pool and hot tub are both amazing and imagine yourself utilizing the grill on the pool deck and eating oceanside with fresh shrimp and a cocktail. I love how you can bring your own stuff to this place.
Another fantastic stand out was a lady named Kathy at the front desk. This woman completely understands the meaning of exceptional customer service and I want to make sure that the leadership at Hyatt knows about this jewel. It is not often that you find a person who obviously cares about the guest experience and this is 100 percent Kathy. We will definitely be staying at this property again and I only want to be received by her. Cathy is the best!!!

We just spent two nights here.
Positives: pretty property, nice pool area, good location close to Mallory Square, adequate provisions in room
Negatives: Counting resort fee and parking, we paid $573 for two nights for the smallest room we have ever had, including Europe. The air conditioner was overwhelming for the size, so it was either freezing or hot. The room was located close to the elevator, so we basically got no sleep for two nights. There was only one small window, and we heard everyone’s loud talking constantly. The management probably shouldn’t even rent out this unit.

Timeshare, being controlled by Mariott Corp. Hyatt vacation club was bought out recently. Timeshare original owners less than 10% now. The 40 unit setting is 5 star next to Opal hotel. High class, but no music at magnificent pool 82F heated. , no kitchen updating, no smart tv,s, No blankets or extra pillows. House keeping did little to nothing. Food can be delivered vis instaCart to 200 Sunset lane. Bike cycles rental very close by beaches, sunset festival, restaurants close 5 star to 2 star. Location on cruise line gold coast.
