Property's Favorite Review
This bed & breakfast was amazing. The hot breakfast offered every day was delicious, the staff was friendly and helpful and the rooms are clean, tastefully decorated and comfortable. We had a room with a balcony facing Whitehead Street and it was perfect! Located just one block from Duval St., it was far enough away to be quite at night but close enough to get to the bars, shops & restaurants in minutes. The pool was heated and so we were able to swim at night in comfort. We really liked this place a lot and would recommend this to anyone visiting Key West.

Good sized room, large bathroom, nice shower head to rinse the sand off after a beach day or if you end up in the sand trap at the golf course like I did… the king sized 4poster bed was incredibly comfy and if you’re a light sleeper like I am simply bring ear plugs, a sleep mask, and keep that AC running to drown out the Green Parrot or the sound of whiny tourists complaining that a bar famous for their music actually had music playing and you could hear it! (Gasp!) The location is one thing that makes this BnB special, you can actually listen to great live music from your balcony, you are minutes from Lost n Found, Beaded Lady, Willie Ts, and all that Duval has to offer. If that’s not your scene, then maybe stay over on Roosevelt at some chain hotel. If you want a real key west feel, stay here and quit your bitchin’. Breakfast was a nice perk, three options daily: (1) continental (yogurt and some pastry), (2) oatmeal and fruit, (3) chef’s choice. Each day the chef has one custom offering. During our stay those included a frittata, cheesy eggs and bacon, blueberry pancakes, waffles. Unlimited coffee and tea, 2 juices also. The pool area was nice and well equipped. Towels, water, ice machine, and even a selection of sunscreen and beach chairs if you wanted to venture over to Fort Zach. We appreciate the warm welcome by manager, the ability to unpack in the unloading space, and there was parking nearby ($20/day) and anyone should be aware that parking in KW is a premium. We only had a vehicle qs we had driven. If flying in, don’t bother renting a car. You can bike, walk, or scooter (or Uber) everywhere you wanna go— including the golf course on stock island. We did not ask for any housekeeping services, the toiletries are in large containers so no Tiny sample sized throwaways. The in room fridge was iced cold. My only small suggestion is that the furniture in room 5 needs some rearranging as the bureau is so close to the bed that I hit either my hip or foot or both every time I squeezed through. Maybe relocate that to where the book case/shelves are and ditch the recliner which occupies that space. My pinkytoe will thank you.

Thank you so much for the detailed review! We are planning on doing some upgrades to the rooms and will definitely take your suggestions into account (you are welcome, pinkytoe :-)). We are so glad that you enjoyed our property, the amenities and our amazing location right next to the best live music on the island and steps from Duval Street. We look forward to hosting you again!

I quaint little inn just off the beaten path. It's a small place with a nice quiet pool. The rooms are small but well appointed. Upon arrival we found that there were no hooks or shelves in our room. Alexa, the office manager, remedied this asap. Hooks and shelves were installed in short order. The rooms were cleaned every day and the chef made everyone a fresh breakfast each morning. Alexa was a true and incredible concierge. Whether it was a place to eat, how to get around, or what you must see.

Second time staying at this property and we will not be back. We were in room 1 which is closest to the Green Parrot bar next door. The noise was ridiculous! Our wall was actually vibrating! People were screaming and partying on the sidewalk right outside our room until 1:30am one night. It was crazy! The other nights were slightly better as the bands that played didn’t attract a big crowd but it was still loud with the road noise.
I did ask if we could change rooms but was told they are sold out. Then got the response “why did you reserve a room right next to a bar if noise bothers you?” (Good point and the reason we won’t be back!)
As other reviews have mentioned Breakfast was a big disappointment this time. The food just wasn’t good. No fruit. We actually ate elsewhere after the morning we were served soggy biscuits smothered in nasty gravy (so gross).
Advice/ call to reserve a room that is not on the front facing the street. Avoid room 1 unless you are big party people who like to stay out late. Bring an eye mask and earplugs as the room only has miniblinds that let in a lot of light (and sound). They really need curtains.
We love Key west and had a good time despite the room noise. We will just pick a better property next time.

We would have given 5 stars, however, when we checked out on our last day we stopped by the office to book the same room for the same week in 2025 (Fantasy Fest Week). The reservation was made and we were told we couldn’t get a receipt until the 2025 rates were set. Well, our receipt and request for down payment came this week and the reservation was made for November, not October. When we called to have this error corrected we were told that there was nothing they could do (other than have us stay for half the time and then move to their sister inn for the other half - not acceptable) because someone else had booked the room. We asked them if they could tell the other people who booked after us that the inn made a mistake, but they basically told us tough luck - take the offer to move mid-week or leave it. We left it and Coco Plum Inn forever, after being loyal guests for more than 10 years. So much for our loyalty, it doesn’t mean a thing to management.

My wife and I loved our stay at the Coco Plum Inn. Our room was next to the pool and it had one of the most comfortable beds we ever slept on. The pool was the perfect temperature and it was always open so we could take an early morning or late evening swim. The breakfast every morning was very good and the chef was very friendly and personable as was the manager, Sardor. The location was perfect for us because everything was within walking distance and we didn't even have to rent bicycles. We will definitely be back whenever we return to Key West.

Kaitlyn at the front desk is lovely and accommodating. Breakfast was great and the chef is super nice.
Now the bad.
My first night I didn’t have wash cloths or hand towels and the office was closed when I realized this so I couldn’t ask for some. House keeping was hit or miss. One day they didn’t leave sugar and creamer for the coffee. Another day they didn’t finish making the bed. Another day there were hairs in the sink. They never replenished the hair conditioner or lotion. I could have asked for some at the office but why should I have to? I stepped on a tiny shard of glass in the bedroom area, luckily I had bandages because the office wasn’t open yet. I also found an empty Oreo box under my bed which was weird because I didn’t eat Oreos. I found an ashtray full of butts on the balcony which was pretty gross as I don’t smoke.
If you like to start your day early and plan to take advantage of the breakfast which is included, you will have to wait until at least 8:00 because that is when breakfast service begins.
The air conditioner was wonky and even though I had it set on high fan, it would go on and off all night which was annoying. I often woke up with it shut off and me sweating.
Helpful tip: start the hot water in the shower a few minutes before you plan to get in as it takes quite awhile to heat.
The bathrooms are a bit dated but overall clean.
The location is good as you are close to Duvall St. and Fort Zachary National Park.

My husband & I recently returned to Key West after almost 34 years to the date. We were last there on June 6, 1989. We chose to stay at the Coco Plum Inn as some friends of ours had stayed there a few years back. The Inn is in a perfection location - walking distance to everything. They do not have parking on site, but there is a lot literally across the street for $20/day. We had a great stay & the breakfasts offered every morning were more than enough to kick start our days. If I had to complain about anything, it would be the lack of water pressure in the shower and the fact that the water never got really hot. And, the room a/c unit was quite loud, but this helped drown out my husband's snoring and the noise/music from the Green Parrot next door. We did not really interact with any of the staff, other than when we checked in and they were extremely nice and helpful. Overall, I would highly recommend this location. Hopefully, it won't take us another 34 years to return to KW.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Coco Plum Inn. The staff were excellent and welcoming. Our room, though a tad small, was very comfortable and had everything we needed for a long weekend in KW. The bathroom was very spacious and very clean.
We especially enjoyed the pool, which is open 24 hours. Towels are offered out on the pool deck too, which is nice so you don’t need to bring your own or use ones from the room.
As for location, we couldn’t have asked for a better spot. This was our first time in KW, so we didn’t really know better, but the Inn is pretty much central to everything offered in this part of town. Hemingway house is a few blocks away, the southernmost point just a tad further, long with the butterfly house. Head the opposite direction and you’ll find Mallory square and everything offered that way. Another plus is we were only a block from Duval and all the crazy.
Some reviewers note that it can be loud at night because of the Parrot bar next door, but we didn’t hear anything from our room. Maybe it wasn’t as busy as it can get in busier times of year, though?
Anyway, I highly recommend this place and I’d love to stay again when we come back to Key West!
