We spent 4 nights at the Ambrosia B&B in early March.  The staff are very friendly and helped make sure we had a place to park our car since parking in Key West is a real problem. We stayed in Unit 8 which is a small 2 room suite with a big walk in shower which was very nice. The mini bar had a small sink, fridge, Keurig and a microwave which were very nice.  The WiFi was very good.  That's it for the kudos.  If you are expecting to have your room cleaned daily and fresh towels placed in your room then look elsewhere.  Covid 19 was the excuse for not doing the cleaning BUT you're not told this when you make you're reservation nor when you are checking in.  You can call the office if you would like fresh towels but make sure it's before the office closes or you will need to wait until morning as we had to do. Came back hot and sweaty  room to be cleaned and towels refreshed...Nope.  If you need clean towels you are told to leave the dirty ones outside in a bag and they will exchange for clean ones. We did that the next day...BUT...WAIT...we came back, late afternoon and the dirty towels were still outside. Had to call and have them bring clean ones. There are no side tables for the bed so if you like to read in bed, need a table for a medical device, or perhaps a place for your glasses then look elsewhere.  However not to worry because you will spend as little time as possible lying on a mattress that can only be described as the worst we have ever had to sleep on.  The other furniture in the suite was almost as bad as the mattress.  Sitting on the couch placed you at a slightly higher elevation than just sitting on the floor.  We do not know what any of the other rooms are like as we never saw them.  You must realize that Key West lodging in general is expensive, however you can have all the above for ONLY $339 per night, plus fees and taxes. Finally, our favorite Key West B&B was converted back to a private residence a few years ago and so we thought to try Ambrosia.  Our mistake, one which we will not repeat.

Thank you for taking the time to post your review and also for the nice things you had to say about our staff and how welcoming we were. We are sorry however, that your stay with us did not meet your expectations in all regards. I would like to point out a few things that might clear up some of the issues you presented. First we know of no hotel in Key West that is doing daily room service during the pandemic so this is not an excuse but a fact of life. This, as we all know, is to protect guests and workers as well. Regarding towels, we are again doing what everyone else is to make the most of a bad situation in the hospitality industry. If we failed to take care of them for you we apologize. As far as room #8, by Key West standards, it is a true suite which is more generous in size than the average and has wonderful amenities such as 2 TV’s, generous bathroom and a king bed set in a large bay window. Because of that, it is one of our more popular rooms and many repeat guests ask for that room specifically. We get many favorable comments about it but when we put even diminutive end tables by the bedside, it inhibits exiting the bed. As far as the mattress and sofa, we have had no other complaints and when we search TripAdvisor for Amelia Suite, the most common comments are about the comfort of the bed and furniture. Regardless, we promise we will look into it. When all of the Covid19 protocols are over we hope that you return to Ambrosia.

We stayed in the honeymoon room at the Ambrosia and it exceeded all of our expectations. The room very comfortable and the bathroom was huge! The whole property from the pool area, the balcony and the room was filled with old town Key West charm! The location was perfect for all the activities we had planned. We could easily walk or bike (which we were able to conveniently rent on site) to Mallory square, the seaport or Duval! The staff was helpful, courteous and friendly! Even though they were unable to provide the hot buffet breakfast each morning due to covid restrictions, we were delivered a filling and tasty bagged breakfast right to our room every morning promptly at 8:30am! Also, we were able to park our car for free right on site!! We can’t wait to return!

Hi Lynn, We're so glad you enjoyed your three night stay at Ambrosia, and it's great to know that you loved our amazing location and Key West charm. One of the beauties about our location is you don't need to drive anywhere once you're here, so you can spend your vacation enjoying all that the island has to offer instead of driving around looking for parking spaces! Thanks for appreciating our efforts to provide guests with nice breakfast options during this unusual time when we're unable to serve our customary help-yourself breakfast buffet due to COVID restrictions. Your comment made my day! Thanks so much for staying with us. We look forward to your next visit.

This hotel is a hidden gem. It has an old world charm, with very clean beautiful designed rooms. We were lucky to stay in suite 111 for 2 nights which is on the upper level. It has a private balcony over looking the warm refreshing pool. Dogs are welcome, which was prefect since we bought our puppy Birdie. The night we got there I forgot to ask for the WiFi was password, but I looked in the book in the room and found it right away with a ton of other information. I can’t say enough about Mary at the front desk she was wonderful. All the staff was great including Kate, the cleaning and the maintenance staff. Thank you for enjoyable stay. Hope to visit again.

Thank you so much for the great review! We're so glad you enjoyed your stay in the Treetop Too Suite as much as we enjoyed having you here with us as our guests at Ambrosia. (By the way, your puppy Birdie is adorable!) I'm sure the large outdoor seating area overlooking tropical vegetation and the warm pool was exactly what you needed during your brief escape to Key West from your freezing weather up north. Thanks so much for your kind words about our awesome staff. Please give us a call directly on 305-296-9838 when you're ready to plan your next visit, as we offer special rates to our fantastic repeat visitors.

We stayed 2 nights and it was so nice! It seems like a quaint little house when you check in. Then Mary led us back through the gate which opened to the tropical pool area, with palms and other lush landscaping. Our room faced this incredible view, with a whole wall of windows. We weren't sure from the description but we definitely had our own private full bathroom, just like you would in a hotel. The staff had made all of the necessary adjustments due to COVID, so our vacation went on without a hitch. Mary was a great hostess and we appreciated her assistance and gracious hospitality. Walking distance to all of the fun parts of Key West. We didn't have to drive at all. We hope to see you again soon!

Hi Debby, We're so glad you found your "Paradise in Paradise" at Ambrosia! Most guests are surprised as you were when they enter through the gates and see how lush and spacious the courtyard area and grounds are. With three pools, there's definitely plenty of space to spread out and enjoy the beautiful Keys fresh air. One of the beauties of our prime Old Town location is that we're close enough to all of the places of interest that you can walk everywhere, but it still seems like a peaceful oasis away from everything. Thanks for being our guests, and we can't wait until your next visit! Warmest wishes, Mary and the Ambrosia family
