We spent 4 nights at the Ambrosia B&B in early March. The staff are very friendly and helped make sure we had a place to park our car since parking in Key West is a real problem. We stayed in Unit 8 which is a small 2 room suite with a big walk in shower which was very nice. The mini bar had a small sink, fridge, Keurig and a microwave which were very nice. The WiFi was very good. That's it for the kudos. If you are expecting to have your room cleaned daily and fresh towels placed in your room then look elsewhere. Covid 19 was the excuse for not doing the cleaning BUT you're not told this when you make you're reservation nor when you are checking in. You can call the office if you would like fresh towels but make sure it's before the office closes or you will need to wait until morning as we had to do. Came back hot and sweaty room to be cleaned and towels refreshed...Nope. If you need clean towels you are told to leave the dirty ones outside in a bag and they will exchange for clean ones. We did that the next day...BUT...WAIT...we came back, late afternoon and the dirty towels were still outside. Had to call and have them bring clean ones. There are no side tables for the bed so if you like to read in bed, need a table for a medical device, or perhaps a place for your glasses then look elsewhere. However not to worry because you will spend as little time as possible lying on a mattress that can only be described as the worst we have ever had to sleep on. The other furniture in the suite was almost as bad as the mattress. Sitting on the couch placed you at a slightly higher elevation than just sitting on the floor. We do not know what any of the other rooms are like as we never saw them. You must realize that Key West lodging in general is expensive, however you can have all the above for ONLY $339 per night, plus fees and taxes. Finally, our favorite Key West B&B was converted back to a private residence a few years ago and so we thought to try Ambrosia. Our mistake, one which we will not repeat.…
Everything is excellent here. Lee is friendly, funny, and fantastic for giving information on things to do, places to eat,and what tours to take. Nothing bad to report.Book it.From the top to the bottom the staff works together to please you.
We stayed in the honeymoon room at the Ambrosia and it exceeded all of our expectations. The room very comfortable and the bathroom was huge! The whole property from the pool area, the balcony and the room was filled with old town Key West charm! The location was perfect for all the activities we had planned. We could easily walk or bike (which we were able to conveniently rent on site) to Mallory square, the seaport or Duval! The staff was helpful, courteous and friendly! Even though they were unable to provide the hot buffet breakfast each morning due to covid restrictions, we were delivered a filling and tasty bagged breakfast right to our room every morning promptly at 8:30am! Also, we were able to park our car for free right on site!! We can’t wait to return!
This hotel is a hidden gem. It has an old world charm, with very clean beautiful designed rooms. We were lucky to stay in suite 111 for 2 nights which is on the upper level. It has a private balcony over looking the warm refreshing pool. Dogs are welcome, which was prefect since we bought our puppy Birdie. The night we got there I forgot to ask for the WiFi was password, but I looked in the book in the room and found it right away with a ton of other information. I can’t say enough about Mary at the front desk she was wonderful. All the staff was great including Kate, the cleaning and the maintenance staff. Thank you for enjoyable stay. Hope to visit again.
We stayed 2 nights and it was so nice! It seems like a quaint little house when you check in. Then Mary led us back through the gate which opened to the tropical pool area, with palms and other lush landscaping. Our room faced this incredible view, with a whole wall of windows. We weren't sure from the description but we definitely had our own private full bathroom, just like you would in a hotel. The staff had made all of the necessary adjustments due to COVID, so our vacation went on without a hitch. Mary was a great hostess and we appreciated her assistance and gracious hospitality. Walking distance to all of the fun parts of Key West. We didn't have to drive at all. We hope to see you again soon!
