We've always enjoyed our timeshare at Windward Pointe, but this year was extra nice. The rooms were the cleanest we've ever experienced, the housekeeping and maintenance services were expert, prompt, and friendly. We especially enjoyed our lunches at Abbey Road Snack Shack. They serve a fabulous salad of greens, strawberries, blueberries and candied walnuts with a strawberry vinegarette that had us going back a second day for more. We can't wait to return next year.
We just finished a five day stay here and it was awesome. The staff was great and the hotel really great. We been coming here for the better part of 12 years. My only negative would be Abbey road, it used to be fun place with a happy hour to hang out before going to town. It’s just poorly run now, hope it gets figured out because it was once a great amenity to the property. Would recommend to anyone
Every thing was comfortable and clean. Didn't spend any time in the pool area as we were out taking excursions. However we did have lunch by the pool, and the food was good. Some minor maintenance problems which were mostly corrected after a quick call to the front desk. The concierge were helpful, though not extremely knowledgeable about the restaurants in the area, but there are a ton of them so I do not hold that against them. We never had a problem parking and the room was exceptionally quiet. We did have a view of the Atlantic but did not spend much time on the deck.
My wife and I arrived on Christmas and it was very cold and rainy for Key West. We arrived before 4pm and could not check into our room which we expected. The staff was very friendly and stored our luggage until our room was ready. While we waited for our room we went to Abby Road the bar/restaurant at the resort to haver lunch. The bartender was very nice and friendly had a great personality unfortunately I cant remember her name. Once our room was ready the staff helped us bring our luggage to our room and then we met with one of the Concierge people. Our person sat at the desk on the right and was very odd. She actually was rude at times to co-workers and would get annoyed if there were other people in the lobby talking. She made it so that we did not want to walk through the lobby if she was there. By Wednesday the weather warmed up and the sun came out and we were able to spend time at the pool to try and relax. Like many other resorts you do need to get to the pool early to reserve chairs. There were 2 larger groups there and you can tell they come every year. My wife and I are owners at another resort in St. Thomas and try to trade our week every year try and see other places. But, Not these 2 groups they were regulars. We would go down to the pool a little before 8 to grab our chairs, and there would already be an entire row of chairs reserved by towels. We would leave and for have coffee and breakfast and come back down. One day when we came back a couple from one of the large groups warned us they had 15 people coming almost as if they didn't want us near them. Once they came down there was on person in the group who was extremely obnoxious and LOUD!! She was getting louder as the day went on or the more she drank. I don't care if people drink at the pool, I do too. But they don't need to yell to everyone from across the pool or to the people next to them. She yelled all day and no one said a word to her. The property is well maintained and clean just beware of the laud regulars and the odd concierge woman.…
Just got back with staying at Hyatt Residence Club- it was nice to get away and soak in the sun by the pool. The room has a nice size kitchen and 2 bedrooms the decor a bit dated. BTW the phone does not work so you cannot get in touch with front desk and they are working on the property to repair the resort due to the last hurricane. The first morning we were woken up by some clanking noises which were annoying but tolerable the second morning there was loud drilling in the morning right outside our bedroom windows which was frankly UNTOLERABLE so I complained and this is when management smugly explained that they stated in the letter with the other papers no one reads and on the website( I am sure in the finest of print) that there would be possibly some noise due to construction. He offered me a lunch voucher which I declined after I presented him with a recording of the loud drilling and was told that the manager of the place would be in touch. Around 4pm still no one contacted me and I saw no message left on the phone in the room so I guess the messaging systems was not working either even though front desk told me the manager tried to contact us. There was NO trace of that so we left and proceeded to go downtown for dinner in our rental car and we then got a call. They did compensate us a bit by allowing us to stay in the room on the last day instead of the usually 11 am check out--we got to stay till 3pm. The manager assured me that all would be taken care of! The next day HOUSEKEEPING knocked 2 times and opened my door to the condo--I was shocked it was only 10 am--I have never in my life had housekeeping barch in my room after 2 knocks (was not given enough time to get to the door to open it). Later I was reading my book on the porch and 2 housekeeping staff were on the phone and talking loudly to each other laughing -I asked them to lower their voices --they continued to ignore me. I could not concentrate between them on my one side and the other construction noises. I felt like the workers were not aware or trained to be respectful and quiet among the guests who were trying to relax and have some peace and quiet. At 3:04 pm while we were ready to leave (my husband already brought the 2 bags down to car)-a man (manager) again opened the door even though I had the DO NOT disturb notice on (I did that so no more "surprise" visit from housekeeping )and told them we would be leaving in a few minutes. LOL I just think a lot of the customer service needs to be improved ....felt like a "motel" rather then a "resort"…
This was one of the most relaxing vacations that I’ve had in a long time. The resort was beautiful. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bedrooms and bathrooms are both very nice. We enjoyed the living room and dining room and especially the large balcony with table, chairs and even a rocking chair. The pool was nice and so relaxing. We needed a wheelchair for some of the places we were going . I called ahead and they were able to connect me with a company who delivered the wheelchair when we arrived and picked it up when we left. We will definitely be back!
Just to start off , Right when we got to the lobby everyone was so welcoming! The young lady at the front desk (I think her name was Morgan) checked me in and told me about some local spots she liked and was super helpful ! The pool was really nice and overall the property was beautiful even though it wasn’t walking distance to down town and had to spend a good amount of money taking a taxi or Uber back and forth…
First time in KW. Nice place overall. Upsides: Spacious room, ocean view, big balcony, next door to a couple of decent restaurants. Downsides: There’s a major road in front of the ocean and no direct beach access. No fitness center. You really need a car to go downtown, shop for groceries, etc. The on-site shop is bare-bones.
We had a great time at this resort. The room was clean and comfortable. The restaurant served great food and drinks. The pool was relaxing. And to be honest, I saw reviews of people who had a problem with the airport right behind the hotel. First of all, you can't really see it unless you're at the back of the building; and second of all, we all enjoyed seeing the planes lift off. It was kind of exciting. The rooms had telescopes in them, so we could look out into the ocean across the street. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
Stayed here through a trade through interval. We flew into Fort Lauderdale and drove down so had a rental car. If you fly into Key West, either walk or Uber to the resort and just Uber downtown when you need to. It was nice to have the car but we paid $5 hour for parking every time we went to Duval St or the main tourist sites. Beautiful very well kept property. Pool area nice, never had trouble getting a chair. Our unit was well equipped and had a nice outdoor sitting area with a beautiful view. The staff was very friendly and any time we needed anything it was brought up to us very quickly. Check in and check out were super efficient. It is right next to the airport but honestly aside from a few planes in the morning and a few in the afternoon, it was mostly quiet A great place to stay if you want to enjoy some tranquility away from the hustle and bustle of Key West…
