The Speakeasy Inn is a landmark building located in the Boutique and Gallery District of Duval Street where you can shop or walk two blocks to the beach or a short stroll to world-famous Sunset Celebrations in Mallory Square! This landmark's recent renovation has preserved the original 19th century spirit of Old Town Key West. The decor in these spacious and airy suites is tropical and features hand-crafted queen beds and tables made from original 1876 pine recovered from our recent renovation. It has been restored to perfection, just for your pleasure. Each one, two, or three bedroom unit has a feeling of true Key West ambiance. You'll find collectibles taken from treasure hunts on our tropical island paradise and Havana, Cuba. Guests who require special consideration will find "accessible" units available. Amenities include kitchenettes equipped with a mini fridge, microwave, coffee maker, toaster, private bathrooms, a large screen HD T.V., free WiFi and outdoor seating areas. The Speakeasy Inn was the home of Raul Vaquez, who was a cigar selector at the Gato cigar factory. Raul's true passion was rum-running between Key West and Cuba. It's in that spirit that our lobby features the Rum Bar open daily from 11 AM to 12 PM (or later).

Detailed Reviews
We travel to Key West at least once a year in the winter. This is our third stay at the Speakeasy Inn. It is absolutely our first choice of places to stay, but sometimes it is booked weeks and weeks in advance and we have to look elsewhere. Moral: Book way early! Some may think it is pricey, but Key West itself is extremely pricey, and this is such a great value for location, location, location. You can walk anywhere in Old Key West from where it is, which is on a quieter area of Duval Street.. It is charming and clean. We like to stay in Room 1A on the second floor, where we can sit on the balcony late at night and early morning to drink rum or coffee and view Duval Street. There is free parking for guests less than a block away. There are also 2 complimentary drinks at the Rum Bar downstairs. My only disappointment is that they have discontinued the complimentary European breakfast they once provided.

We only had one night to spend in Key West, and when looking for a place to stay, the Speakeasy Inn seemed like just what we needed. And it was! We were in room 4, which is on the first floor in the back. It was like we had our own private oasis back there, and it was lovely to sit outside the room and watch Duval street. The hotel offered free parking just a block away, and there was a place to rent bikes just across the street. (Fury bike rentals- $15 for 24 hour rental, which was just what we needed). The staff was very friendly and accommodating, and gave us a couple free drinks upon arrival. Later that night after exploring the town, we got a flight of rum to sample some different flavors. It wasn't cheap (I think it was $35, but price depends on what rums you order) but it was unique and delicious.
The room would be perfect for a longer stay as it had a fully stocked kitchenette with all the plates, cups, and utensils you would need. Microwave, fridge (with free waters!), coffee maker. I wish we had more time to spend there!

+1
Can't believe I forgot to review our stay.
Simply awesome. We were in room 2 upstairs. Great sized room for the 2 of us, with a good kitchen/bathroom.
It was great to just sit out on the balcony in amongst the craziness!
Breakfast - a limited but decent enough choice - it's not a full service hotel so you're not gonna get all you can eat buffet style breakfast.
What you will get is Captain the cat asleep in the middle of the bar and chickens joining you on the patio!
We sat out a couple of nights by the bar drinking cocktails and watching the world go by - what more could you want?
It's close enough to the crazy end of Duval St, but only a short walk back to your own little bit of heaven when you've had enough.
We also made use of the free parking spot provided. (You really don't need your car once you're here).
Our only regret is that we didn't stay and extra couple of nights.
You definitely won't regret staying here.

Room 4 was tiny and musty, with an armoire that smelled damp and moldy. The WiFi and the tv didn’t work. And the guy at check in was not very warm or welcoming. However, The cleaning person was accommodating and friendly, the room was quiet, and Kayla the bartender is delightful and makes a great painkiller. (much needed)

We had a fantastic time at the Rum Bar and really enjoyed our stay in the Hotel, it was fantastic. Raymond and Constantine were awesome hosts and Bar tender! The location is only 3-blocks from the Southernmost Point Bouy, it is quite at night so you can actually get some much need sleep after all the daily activities that are available to you, and we definitely recommend that you try them out next time you plan to go to Key West! We will definitely be back to stay with them in the future!

This inn was wonderful. It is excellently located on Duval Street - just into the quieter section of the street and close to all the sights. Our room (#2) was comfortable with a porch to relax on. We greatly enjoyed the rum bar. The bartenders were excellent and very friendly, especially Kayla. We enjoyed chatting with the management, staff and owners as well as the other customers.

We just got back from Key West after staying at the Speakeasy Inn and it was wonderful. The room was the oasis for the heat of the week. It was nicely furnished with a kitchenette, claw foot bathtub and original pine floors. But it was the service that stood out. From our early check in (no problem) to friendly service from every member of the staff, the Speakeasy was a delight! The knowledge of the bartenders regarding rum was amazing! Constantino was funny, personable and could make a great drink. 2 free Painkillers started us off the first visit to the Rum Bar. If you’ve never had one, they are delicious. The location is away from the hustle and bustle of Duval but not so far that a good walk doesn’t place you right into the heart of the action. There are many excellent restaurants and things to do at the south end of Duval and it was great to explore this end of Oldtown. TY to Lenny, Mark, Sparkles and Constintino for helping to make our retirement/anniversary trip so special.

Such a wonderful little hotel! I can see why it books up quickly! The owner was so accommodating & helping us find a place to park our truck. They were always checking with us to ensure we had enough coffee & toiletry items. We will definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for a long weekend and had a fantastic experience! The room was clean and well stocked and the ambiance was relaxing with chill Key West vibes. The location is perfect amd accessible on foot to everything you need. The rum bar was so much fun- great bartender and excellent top shelf rum concoctions. The porch of the bar is perched just above Duval St. And great for sipping on a drink and people watching. The owners were friendly and incredibly accommodating. I would highly recommend this place. We will definitely be going back!

Stayed 3 nights at the Speakeasy Inn in June. As we were traveling with our adult niece, we wanted a room that had separate sleeping areas, and while this was just a wall, it felt like separate rooms. The room was so quaint and definitely had the Key West vibe. Nick was fabulous from arrival to departure. The Speakeasy Inn and Rum Bar are located on the quieter end of Duval Street and while the main venues were on the other end, we had plenty to see and people to watch. Absolutely will stay again if we ever get back.

No. It’s meant for 2. There is a small couch/sofa in the room, but certainly wouldn’t sleep 2 additional people.
I’d suggest calling the Speakeasy directly to see what their availability is. Sorry, I would’t know!!!
Just January 5th is available right now. Looking at there official site.
