They can’t help the natural phenomenon that has brought the disgusting mess and god awful smell to the beaches. I have attached pictures from the beach in front of the cafe. However, they have made no attempt to make it more enjoyable. The staff acts like you are putting them out and that there is something wrong with you for not wanting to be on the beach with the foul smell and disgusting sight. No nights comped. Still had to pay $25 a night for parking. Spent $20 on washers and dryers that don’t work, only to be told to walk a block to another building and try again. Um... nope. None of the employees seem to know anything, unless you walk to the front desk. Asked seven... SEVEN! different employees the same question about directions and was given seven different answers. Booked for four people and there were four towels and only two washcloths in the room. Extremely disappointed! Will not be back. We have stayed and made due with some crazy places, but this was ridiculous.

We stayed at Southernmost for 4 nights with a group of friends and were not impressed. This resort is overpriced and the expensive resort fee doesn't really get you anything. We had a king room with a balcony -- it was disappointing. We liked the pineapple pool and bar however the pool seemed a little dirty and was warm like bath water. The bright spot of the resort was the concierge! Brian was able to help us book the most memorable experiences. He booked our group of 6 scooters, jet ski tour, sunset cruise, and a private boat charter to go snorkeling. FYI: The seaweed was really bad and the smell seeped into our room. We booked this hotel specifically for the beach it had and we were unable to use it because of the smell and seaweed. However I did not use this to rate the property since I understand this is out of the hotel's control.

The problem we had as much as you pay for the room our shower leaked all over the floor. mold in shower, did not replace coffee, or bathroom items. Had to purchase our own. Was disappointed as we have stayed at the property several times as we will be looking to stay else where next year.

The staff made the stay fantastic, anticipating every detail. The accommodations are beautifully appointed, with small touches that made our stay very enjoyable. From the fresh flowers in the bathroom, beach towels in the room, bottled water in mini bar, to the nice wine cooler that allows one to pour a glass of wine without having to open a bottle. Location location is perfect within walking distance everywhere, yet in a much quiet area, away from the busy section of Duval street I met a couple from up north who has been visiting this hotel for 25 years. That said it all. Retaining a customer for 25 years says a lot for the property and most importantly the staff.

We totally enjoyed our stay here. We had deluxe king room with balcony and were satisfied with it. The room was always very clean and the housekeeper came everyday when we went to breakfast. When we returned it was all done. The Shore pool was a lot of fun. We stayed in and floated around to stay cool. Heather makes great drinks and was very friendly. The resort is so tropical and pretty. The Duval Loop bus stops right in front and is free. Banana Cafe and Blue Heaven are walkable for breakfast. Must try the Lobster shack on the street near Shore Pool for lunch or Anas Cuban at the Deli for tasty Cuban sandwich. The only negative is the high resort fee that doesn’t really get you anything and is higher than other large resorts in Key West.
