Our Key West suite accommodations at The Island City House Hotel are comprised of three buildings, each with its own style and unique character. The Arch House features six suites furnished in a casual Caribbean Style. The two suites on the first floor are two-bedroom suites. These suites have two separate bedrooms each with one queen-sized bed, a living/dining room with a kitchen, one bathroom, and a small porch. The studio-suites on the second floor of the Arch House have one queen-sized bed in an alcove, a sitting area with a kitchenette, and either a street-side balcony with a porch swing or a garden view balcony with a hammock. The Island City House is the main building on our property housing twelve parlor suites, ten one-bedroom suites, and two two-bedroom suites. These suites are furnished in an island Victorian style with lace curtains and many antique pieces. The two bedroom suites have two separate bedrooms, one with a king bed, the other with a queen bed, a living/dining room with a full kitchen, one bathroom and a large porch. The ten parlor suites have one queen-size bed and a separate sitting area with a kitchen. Many of these suites also have a sleeper sofa (for children or a third adult) or a porch overlooking the gardens. The Cigar House, our poolside building, is the home of our six largest one-bedroom suites. All of these suites are decorated in a tropical plantation style. The first and second floor suites have a king-size bed in the bedroom, a separate living room with a full kitchen, and a hammock on the poolside porch or balcony. The two suites tucked away on the third floor have a queen-size bed in the bedroom, a separate living room with a full kitchen, and an open balcony overlooking the pool and Infrared Sauna.

We recently spent 5 nights at this facility as part of a much longer trip (second floor Arch building). On the positive side, the room and grounds had charm, street noise was minimal, and the hotel’s location was great; we were able to walk everywhere. More critically,

We’ve stayed here four times over the years. We like having a kitchen and seating area in addition to the comfortable sleeping area. This visit we especially enjoyed our comfortable porch where we were able to rest, read, and plan our next outing. The tropical view, sounds of

Review collected in partnership with this hotel
There are many positives about this beautiful, tropically themed footprint, but I’d like to add a few helpful hints for those planning on staying here in the future. Although for the most part we enjoyed our stay and felt the staff was accommodating and friendly, our second

We were a party of three adults staying one night during the Christmas holidays. I would echo the general consensus of tripadvisor reviews: historic buildings, Victorian architecture, charming ambience, antique furnishings, lush gardens, rooftop terrace, and location near Duval

Response from 141eric, General Manager at Island City House Hotel

First off I am sorry for your loss of your family member. Our cancellation fees were adjusted to help you during this time. Instead of the full amount of your stay, the front desk did offer to only charge a $100 fee for cancellation of the reservation. We did sell the room after you canceled your reservation, this is why a new room was given to you. As for the asking for help up the stairs, I am sorry our staff does ask if we can help with bags. I will follow up with my team on why you did not get asked. Yes we are not the same as Island House- they are a men only property. Thank you for your review and look forward to having you stay with us on your next trip so you can see the true Island City House experience. Eric

Is the pool heated?
No. But after a day in the sun it is quite refreshing.

Is the pool heated?
I don't think so. In April, it was warm enough to be comfortable, but not really warm. Plenty of seats to enjoy the deck, though, which is uncommon in KW unless you go to a big hotel.
