I stayed at this gem of a place over the Memorial Day Weekend. It is a lovely, clean, peaceful place to stay and it really should not be called a Motel. It’s up there with 4-star hotels. Although I arrived early, my room was ready and waiting for me. It has a private outdoor patio, refrigerator, microwave and sink. They supplied a few plates and bowls. The only con was they did not provide any utensils. I used the microwave to bring back left over lunch/dinners. They don’t enter your room due to COVID protocols, but you can leave your towels and garbage outside your door and they replace them daily. The pools area was fabulous and was always clean, even in late afternoon after many people had used it. They also had a grill, communal outdoor seating with views of the marina. A special thanks to Rose and Judy the front desk staff who are friendly and helpful. The walk to Duval is a little over a mile which I did once or twice and a uber ride is $10 approximately.

They are affordable compared to many hotels in key west. The walk to Duval wasn’t bad at all, around 15-20 minutes.
The pool was nice although it was cool weather for our trip, and the pool was not heated. My husband said it was like taking the arctic plunge. We wished the complimentary styrofoam coffee cups were larger (they serve coffee in the office each morning). There was a coffee pot in our room but they don’t supply the coffee or creamer/sugar so bring your own!
Also ask at the desk and they will supply shampoo and conditioner. I didn’t mind asking for those at all, I really appreciate companies that don’t waste toiletries (better for the environment, less plastic)
The shower was amazing, tons of hot water and water pressure! And the room service was so good, super clean and well done.
I’d stay there again!

In Key West you have a huge choice of places to stay; from 4&5 star mega chain hotels to tiny and quaint BnBs. Harborside Motel and Marina is one of the smarter choices I have made in a long time.

Three women traveling opted for their Houseboat room which was spotless, spacious, well appointed and very comfortable. We loved having the separate bedroom, full size kitchen and the feel of being on the water!

Judy at the front desk was gracious and allowed an early checkin and was very helpful.

Grounds, pool area and sitting areas were clean and comfortable. Plenty of parking.

An $11 Uber to Old Town is cheaper and easier than trying to park there.

Highly recommend this gem.

We reserved a king size bed room was adequate though slightly small but it provided a coffee maker which you need to bring your own coffee, toaster, microwave, full-size refrigerator, and utensils and dishes for two people.

Staff was friendly and accommodating.

We stayed during the week day and had a lower rate compared to other hotels in the area.

Hotel is within walking distance of Mallory Square, Duval Street and other sites.

Where to even start… when we arrived the boathouse was clean but smelled like dead something. First night I was bit by something in the bed, I wrote it off thinking it was the normal ankle biters, until night number two… I woke up with more red dots, up my legs, some on my arms (which I thought was strange since I have been to KW over a handful of times and this has never been an issue) night three I was ripping my skin off the bites were so bad, I pulled apart the bed. I found larvae in my bed, larvae hanging from the window sill, black pencil like smudges in the corner of the mattress pad, some sort of dead bug and dead larvae. I wanted to believe it was something else (and there was nowhere for us to move to due to powerboat week, I had also read reviews that the owner would kick you out with no refund) so I endured night number four, waking up again with new bites. I go to the front desk and talk to a woman who was incredibly rude and dismissive saying “we have never had bed bugs… our cleaning ladies clean well…” so I asked to speak with the owner. The owner was just as the reviews said… I showed him pictures of what I found in the bed, I showed him the marks on my body (someone the night before asked if I had chicken pox :() I explained that three of the four rooms/boats our friends/us have rented are getting bit by “something” and found larva of some sort in our beds… so he inspected the rooms and says “I didn’t find anything, we don’t have bed bugs”. So after a week of being eaten alive, over paying for a boathouse that smelled like dead something and being dismissed by the owner… I HIGHLY recommend if you want to enjoy your vacation to stay far away from this place!!!!!!

Stayed 4 nights at the beginning of November and couldn't have been happier! Old style motel that's been beautifully upgraded and maintained. Our room was beautiful! Comfy bed, giant shower, good AC and a decent kitchenette that included a full-sized refrigerator, auto drip coffee maker (bring your own coffee scoop!), microwave and very basic dishware and utensils. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The motel is located right on the water in a marina with a nice picnic area including tables and a grill for guests. Great spot for enjoying morning coffee and watching the sunrise! The pool was perfect! We only went for a quick swim, but we wished we had more time to relax poolside in one of the comfy loungers and watch the boat traffic in the marina. We rented trikes through Sunshine Scooters which was walking distance to the motel, making drop off at the end of our trip convenient, About a 10 minute ride to Duval Street and both the waterfront and southern most point on our trikes, sticking to neighborhood streets. We really enjoyed our stay here and will keep it on our list for future visits!

This was a very pleasant stay, in a great location. It is an easy walk to all the main KW sites, and there is a decent cafe just around the corner. We had one of the house boats - it was comfortable, spacious and spotlessly clean. It had a fully equipped kitchen so you could self-cater should you wish. The staff were very welcoming, friendly and helpful. There is onsite parking. There is a small pool, and a BBQ area should you wish to use it. Would recommend and return.

Was happy with the location, the cleanliness etc. But could not believe they don't have tissues in the room. Asked in the office and was told they don't have any but can give us more toilet paper. Never experienced this before even on a safari in South Africa.

With current virus concerns no tissues or hand sanitizers is incredibly poor in my opinion.. and at over $300 a night? Incredible.

We stayed 4 nights in a houseboat rather than in one of the motel rooms. Gentle rocking at night, beautiful views of the marina, full kitchen, separate bedroom with 2 very comfortable queen beds, large bathroom with a huge shower. Comfortable sofa, kitchen table with 4 chairs. So spacious.

The grounds are kept immaculately clean as was our houseboat. There’s an outdoor swimming pool, coin operated washer and dryer ($1.50 for each), BBQ’s, lots of patio tables and chairs. Off street parking.

We walked everywhere from this motel - Duval St for shopping and restaurants, to Truman waterfront park to tour the USCGC Ingram ship, to South Point, to Mallory Square and the Shipwreck Museum. To Kermit’s Key Lime Pie cafe. Key West is completely flat and measures 2 miles x 4 miles. I disagree with the reviews that said Harborside motel is too far from ‘town’. I’d rather stay here where it’s completely quiet than near the noisy nighttime bars. We got groceries at the Winn Dixie, just a 5 minute drive away.

For some reason, there’s no shampoo/conditioner or hair dryer in the rooms. Be sure to ask for them when you check in.

We loved staying here and hope to be back!!

The Harborside made for a nice little base for our Key West stay. A rather modest unpretentious establishment, the motel sits adjacent to the harbor about 2km out from the town center. It’s about a 20min walk into the main tourist areas so not really the most convenient for exploring the town. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable with a small kitchenette (full fridge, microwave) and dining table. The TV, AC, and Wifi all worked excellent, as did the hot water though it took some minutes for it to arrive. The room seemed to be well sound-proofed so we had a fairly peaceful stay. There is a nice little pool area and gazebo as well. One thing that thought was strange was that you actually had to ask for shampoo and conditioner from the office. Most hotels just provide it in the bathroom. I felt the price was quite expensive relative to what we got, so not the greatest value place around. All in all, we had a great stay and would recommend it to other travelers.
