We wanted to give this place a shot for our honeymoon/babymoon. When we came in the lobby, we were impressed. It’s historic and beautiful, and Patrick checked us in and he was lovely. Our room was disgusting. It was baron, sterile, and immediately we were disappointed. I didn’t walk barefoot in the room. The lighting in the bathroom was terrible. There was a gap in the door to the outside, so people walking by were so loud. The door wouldn’t close unless you shoved it closed. The pool was nice ish, but the water was warm for an 85 degree May pool day. The poolside server criticized our tip, asking if the service wasn’t good enough. Honestly the food was decent, drinks were a little weak tho. We were staying for a week and ultimately switched hotels on day 3. I understand this property is shutting down next week for renovations, but it seems there are updates to the room that could have been done in recent years. Completely unacceptable for an $800 room. The other Curio close by is landslides better. …

Hotel's Favorite
I was hesitant to book based on the reviews however, I am so glad we did not cancel or rebook to another hotel. I did not see any of the issues others have posted. It is like we stayed at 2 different resorts yet were there at the same time. I travel several times a year to "top resorts”, and I would rank this among my favorites. Yes, it is in need of some renovations I was informed by the front staff when I made my reservations, they would start renovating in the near future, so I was well-informed. The furniture is a little outdated it was not scratched and it was very sturdy and clean. Bedding was new and clean. Our room was immaculate we did not have any mold. The porch furniture as in many resorts close to the ocean has some wear and tear but again not an issue for us. There were 3 of us and all of us loved our experience at Casa Marina. There is sargassum seaweed washing ashore at all of Key West right now. I watched off my balcony as a machine was vacuuming it up every morning. There was very little of it. We sit on the beach, and it was not an issue. However, we did not get in the ocean there were rocks at the entrance, but we were told there was a beach in short walking distance we could get in. Yes, the pier is damaged but there are two on either side of the resort. The outdoor was well kept and beautifully landscaped. I cannot say enough good things about the staff. When we made our reservation, we had a health care hero discount. When we checked in due to my Hilton Honors status, we were upgraded to a 2-bedroom suite facing the ocean. Anything we needed or questions we had were immediately addressed. Travis is wonderful and I wish I could recall the bellman's name who made sure we were taken care. At the pool before you could even sit down the pool staff were there quickly to apply pool covers and give us towels. They also brought around ice water. Housekeeping was quick to respond to our needs. They have resturants on site. The pool bar/resturant is open late I believe until close to 10 we only ate there was, and it was great. We ordered breakfast from DoorDash and ate breakfast in our room. The hotel is a short ride-share cab ride to downtown. Love the location. We stayed in room 3018. If you do plan to go, ask for the new wing of the resort also realize it is an old historic resort built over 100 years ago the bathrooms are large enough, but they are not huge like at some of the newer facilities. We had an in room safe, robes, and umbrella. Our room had a mini-frig the only complaint if you call it that was, we would have liked a microwave in our room. If in room luxury is a criterion, you may want to wait until they finish renovations. I cannot wait to go back, and this will be the first hotel I will try to make reservations.…

TLDR- Staff is terrible, no interest in taking care of guests. (except our Server, Deon who was really nice). Staff knows there is a cockroach infestation. No one was surprised when we told them we have roaches in our room. Rooms are the worst. Do not stay. I should've checked the Yelp reviews prior to going to this place. I'm a Platinum Marriott Bonvoy member and wasn't happy with some recent changes. Considered switching to Hilton and this was the first property I stayed at because the reviews were great on other sites, the website has great description and pictures. Needless to say, I'm now going to be a Bonvoy fan/loyal for life. Will avoid all Hilton properties. The views are great and location is great. It's a well known historical hotel. Upon checking in, the staff is mediocre at best. They seem so disinterested as if It's a pain for them to deal with hotel guests. After checking in we went to the elevator and that was hideous. Dust everywhere, floors chipped. The elevator floor indicator light didn't work so we didn't know what floor we were on until the doors opened. The button light didn't work so we didn't even know if the elevator was called. Walking down the hallway to our room was dusty. The bathroom and bedroom floors were FILTHY. I knew immediately I wasn't going to be able to shower in that bathroom without flip flops. There are stains all over the accent chairs. The bathroom curtain is stained. The furniture is chipped and broken. We came with family and had 2 rooms - both rooms identical. Their room was leaking water from the ceiling. This is supposed to be a luxury hotel? Isn't that was Waldorf Astoria stands for? Now I know why it's "formerly" Waldorf. I've stayed at Motels better than this. We were supposed to stay for 3 nights. We woke up the morning after our first night (7:27am) and saw TWO cockroaches. Out we go. Spoke to the manager when he got in at 9am who said there would be no charge for our stay. Now I've been billed $470 and spoke with the same manager on the phone a couple days after our stay who said it was a "courtesy" to let me off the hook for leaving early but not the first night. Any decent hotel who wants to have guests return will refund upon hearing of cockroaches. It's not like I asked for a refund after 3 nights. We were there for 10 hours. Checked in late evening. Checked out first thing in the morning. DO NOT stay here. We went to Oceans Edge instead and had an absolute fantastic experience. The staff at Oceans Edge was extremely friendly and took amazing care of us especially when we told them about our experience at Casa. They were not surprised by it. It's 15 min into key west but we rented golf carts and had an amazing experience. Did I mention Oceans Edge was CHEAPER than Casa but miles better? I would have happily paid more at Oceans for the amazing experience. We will definitely be returning to Oceans Edge. Never to Casa Marina due to the run down experience or any Hilton property due to the staff experience. Thank goodness for credit card perks - got a full refund for the hotel by disputing and showing them pictures of the cockroaches. Thank you Casa Marina for nothing.…

absolutely filthy! Mold everywhere terrible service! They should knock it down! Stairways disgusting pool full of mold linens and towels stained! Breakfast was a joke and 42$ zero service powdered eggs, disgraceful for the $ they are charging. Did I mention iguana crap everywhere and they don’t clean it up

We were celebrating our honeymoon . We booked a suite and we were looking forward to having a nice relaxing stay . Shame on you for treating Diamond members or as a matter of fact any customer to filthy rooms. Pieces of the furniture were missing . It looked as if there was a frat party there. The bedding OMG! Disgusting there was what appeared to be brown red looking stains on the bed skirt and pee stains on the sheets. We spent part of our day switching hotels. Time that was supposed to be stress free. We understand that you will be doing renovations and we wish you the best . Unfortunately we will be staying at Marriot propertys going forward. Thank you Hilton for ruining our honeymoon.

The staff, accommodations, service, and food were excellent! Reasonable rates and close to everything. Came in on the Key West Express, took an Uber, then were free to lash in a luxurious experience here. Very kind people here that made all the difference. The pillows were amazingly nice, too!

Key West is great but I don't know why anyone would want to spend $500 a night on a room that hasn't been cleaned. I don't want to sleep on piss stained sheets that haven't been changed. Yes, actual piss on the sheets and poop left on the toilet seat. Staff is unhelpful and uncaring. They purposely ignored our calls and hid when they saw guests coming. The bathrooms are disgusting. There's broken glass in the hall. The elevator doesn't seem to work, and the hotel is not handicap accessible in any way. Save your money, go somewhere else instead. They sat they are going to renovate it, but I don't think that will save this hotel.

The five-star days for this hotel are in the past. The view is pretty and the service was very good. The hotel is outdated and needs some upkeep. I’m good with old, if it is clean and well maintained. Super expensive - $42 for breakfast!! The grounds of this hotel are well maintained, but parts of the hotel are not. The elevators and stairwells reminded us of a 2-star hotel. Very dirty. Ice machine didn’t work. Room was small and crowded. There are nicer hotels in Key West for half the price.

We booked a stay blindly without reading any of the recent reviews. The Curio branding hotel of the Hilton family are top-notch. This hotel is not!!! This hotel is a DUMP! Very, very dirty and worn out. Needless to say, vacationer beware. Do not book this property. You will be upset you did. We originally booked a 3 day stay. The hotel manager let us check out early, refunded our money back. The hotel staff was very pleasant and responded accordingly to our concerns.

Unfortunately, I did not believe all the terrible reviews and placed a two night stay here. The hotel is old and does not feel clean, even in the lobby and public spaces. Even my receptionist when checking in was not customer oriented and just unfriendly. The beach is never cleaned so there was sea grass everywhere and smelt real bad, I could hardly spend time there, not even for a beach walk. My room smelt of mildew and even after my stay, I went home and brought the stink with me in my clothes and luggage. A light in my bathroom was missing and my shower did not work properly and had mildew in the grout. The bed was uncomfortable and had dips. Please save your money and vacation by staying at a different location in Key West!
